Zbikowski was a great boxer during the lockout. He basically did it to keep himself in shape. Yes, he loves football that much that he's willing to exchange punches for the sake of football.

This guy is a real winner. Perhaps my favorite off-season acquisition yet.

Never heard of him. College doesn't count

Seriously dude.

Do you guys not watch football, College, the Draft, The combine.

Zibikowski is a sub 4.5 guy, has great coverage skills, played for the ND and Ravens in the pros. Completely overshadowed by Ed Reed obviously, but i've rarely seen this guy become a liability in Coverage in College or the Pros.

He also is a professional boxer.

With Pagano wanting guys from Baltimore I hope he can bring in Jameel McClain. Our defense may be better than I thought next year.

oh bring in mcclain and the linebacker position will be pretty good. especially if hayes is signed, mathis possibly moving to OLB and angerer. the front 7 will start to look alot better.

Only averaged 11.5 per punt return and 16.2 on kick returns his entire college career at Notre Dame. Joe Lefeged for the Colts last year averaged 18.6. Not trying to throw a wet blanket on things, just keeping folks informed.

Averaged 6.3 on PR as a Raven (but only on 16 returns). Averaged 21.8 on kick returns in his career as a Raven (14 returns). That's not a whole lot of returns, so you don't have an exceptionally clear picture of how he'll do, but it does give some encouragement that at least we are addressing our needs, as a return specialist has been sorely needed for years.

I'm excited for him to be on defense more than special teams.

Wow the Colts take another step to becoming the Baltimore Eagles.... or will it be the Philadelphia Ravens?

Not a bad signing. I haven't seen much of him with the Ravens but from what I remember of him at ND, very smart, rarely takes a bad step, follows the ball well. A little heavy footed and and will struggle if he has to cover a TE or RB man to man.

you'd have to possess knowledge of the entire notre dame special teams unit to base any judgement off that

Hi everybody...long time lurker, first time poster. I'm just trying to get my scorecard in order here. Going back to January 4, 2012 through this signing and including reserve/futures contracts I have the Colts adding the following to their roster:

  • 5 offensive linemen
  • 4 defensive linemen
  • 2 wide receivers plus Reggie
  • 1 running back
  • 1 backup quarterback
  • 1 line backer
  • 1 corner back
  • This safety

I guess my question is where do you think we really are looking at this thing big picture? I realize the reserve/future guys are many times special teamers at best but Grigson has at the very least been active. With this addition of Z...what is your vision of where we stand entering the draft?

he wasn't a GREAT punt and kickoff returner, he just made some epic returns in epic games. Ran one back against USC back when Lienart was playing in that super close game with the Bush Push.

I wanted us to draft him so bad but he slipped away. He is definitely smart, and I've never seen him as a liability int he passing game.

If you want' to see tape of him, look for that ND vs USC game in 2007?

God darnit, Weis was the right guy for ND. I wish ND would recruit the midwest and just put the team in their hands, they need a darn pipeline, right now it's lets sign 4 star dudes nobody wants, and hope they dont leave. Look at the roster, how many midwest stars never see a snap.
