Hines play

I thought he played very well tonight.  Had one major drop but made up for it on a nice fourth down grab.  Also I loved how he was making decisions to cut once up field and fight for extra yards when nothing was there.

I thought he was going to take that screen pass to the house as well, just needed to break a tackle (which he struggles with).

Hines is good Ballard hit on him.

I would love for us to use him like white or even Edelman from the patriots.  I know Edelman’s position might be tough.  Would be interesting to see how it works.

Hines is a solid receiving target but he isn't making anyone miss. He doesn't have that explosive play making ability we all were hoping for.

 

That said, he's playing a lot better than Jordan "I trip over my cut and fall (every time)" Wilkins. But this team is sorely lacking even an average between the tackles NFL RB.

Hines is getting better each week. Just lacks vision getting through the hole needs to get more then a couple of yards but his catching out of the backfield is good

I was one of the few on here that thought Hines would be good after his stinky pre-season. I just loved his speed and his ability to catch the Football. So far he has been one of Luck's security blankets on short passes.

Hines is incredible and has shown despite have small hands, he can catch the ball. He hasn't had much room when running the ball, but he's definitely going to be a gem. Kid plays hard and makes a ton of plays.

Hines might be fast but his agility and change of direction is slow  sheesh

He isn't a good runner which hurts our run game but he is a huge part of our pass game

I'd actually have it backwards. Dude isn't showing that 4.3 speed but he sure is shifty

What is odd is according to people at the combine he had the fastest 40 of all the rbs.

 

Makes no sense to me at all.  He seems.....slow to me.  Not at all explosive.

I think his lack of explosion is from running tight.  He has great hands.   Probably just a bundle of nerves; thinking to much and not relaxing.  Give him sum time and hopefully he starts to show that 4.3 speed

Hines is a strange one.  He's making plays and that's the main thing, but I don't sense that breakaway, shifty, big play threat that I keep hearing about.  He seems more like a good hard running guy with good hands, but not really that explosive. 

 

They should also give Wilkins more playing time.

When did Hines ever have enough space to show off his speed? He looks pretty darn fast coming out of the backfield running those short routes but literally hasn't had the chance to run in space. I can't wait to see him break one where he's literally in front of the defenders so we can see what kind of speed this kid has.

what I see also.  Can't seem to break a tackle.

But he is a gutsy player and is v effective in the passing game

Game may still be too fast for him? It'll slow down.

He is making the most of his opportunity right now.  Need to see Wilkins a bit more and I know Turbin will fit into his short yardage role.  Once Mack is back (hopefully), we'll have 4 guys in the backfield that offer 4 different skill sets that Reich and use to attack defenses.
