Listening to Houston sports radio channel this afternoon the three people behind the mics had nothing but high praise for Luck's character as a man, a competitor and as an ambassador for the NFL. Like Manning before him Luck is obviously viewed as a champion in more important ways than a football player. With all the bad and very bad news coming from this sport it is more than refreshing to know our team has a leader in more categories than just football. Thank you Houston for recognizing a true hero in what matters more than the score (although he does like to score a lot of points).

Well from what I heard about Watson last year and giving to the employees who went through the tragedy and what Watt did...we should be praising their guys. Nice to hear some good for a change.

I went to the Texans/Colts Game in Houston back in November of 2013. It was the game where Case Keenum debuted and put the Texans up huge early, only for Luck and Hilton to come back and tear them to shreds. I will say most of the fans were very classy, and complimentary of Luck.

Well they have never had a decent QB...that looks to change now. So I could see why they would say nice things.

The Texans fans that I have met have been great people. Very fond of Indianapolis restaurants and Lucas Oil. Heard from many of them talk in disbelief about how many fans wear jerseys at Lucas Oil.

Glad to see some classy fans from an opposing team in the division.

The same can’t be said for many Titans fans. Trust me I live in Nashville and have to hear the crap coming out of their mouths all the time, especially from local sports radio hosts.

I definitely think Jags fans are way more annoying than Texans fans. Jags fans are like Brewers fans, they have 1 Good year and they act like they have been a dynasty for 10 years. Most Colts fans that I know have the same admiration for JJ Watt that Texans fans do for Luck. Watt is a good man!

Titans fans may be worse. One thing I hate about that franchise is that they are trying to recreate New England in Tennessee. And it annoys the crap outa me.

Texans and Colts both got classy organizations, coaches, and players (mostly). Also their fans aren’t annoying like Jags fans haha

My experience is different.  I was at Blake Bortles first game (second half replacement for Chad Henne).  The fans were exceptionally nice, even before Blake came in and made the Jags look like they were somewhat NFL caliber.

I've not met any Titans fans, but from your reports, they could well be the worst fans in the division then.

Manning brought in lots of Indy band wagoners,  remember?

I really have no problem with people becoming Colts fans because of Manning. He is a Top 3 QB of all-time IMO and I doubt we will ever see anyone like him again. With me, I just happen to live in Indy so I have been a fan since 1984 when they moved here. I went to games when we had Dickerson and then Harbaugh. Having said that in the Manning years I really followed them even more closely. They were just awesome! Some people became Colts fans because of Luck too. Some people just love Luck. We have been LUCKY to have the franchise we have had while in Indy with some of the players we have had like Dickerson, Hinton, Harbaugh, Peyton, Marvin, Reggie, Freeney, Mathis, Sanders, Saturday, and now Luck and Vinny.

I consider bandwagon fans those who were only here during the Manning era

    • I think we are seeing growth from Ballard as a GM, which is what I would think everyone would hope for. He’s gone after free agents (even though they didn’t come here), he drafted a qb, put offers to move up in the 1st, and now drafted an edge that is actually productive instead of off upside. Hope it continues.
    • My bad, you’re right.  I don’t know who stats I was looking at last night lol.  Hennessy will do that. ;(   Well, Trey production might’ve been due to him being in a rotation over there in NO before he got to Cincy, with him being a third rounder.  But either way, Trey turned it on year 4.  So you’re right, I’ll give qwitty one more year.  Not saying qwitty is bad, but we do need more from that position.  And it seems Ballard and co agrees as this is his second attempt at trying to upgrade that position this off-season.   I agree with the pick, we can’t wait and hope for something when we have an opportunity to possibly upgrade at a premium position and one of the highest paying positions.  Due to the way the draft played out, We had the opportunity to pick the FIRST defensive player off the board, which also mean probably the BEST defensive player on the board (depending on how whoever looks at it).  We don’t know when we’ll have that opportunity if ever again.
    • Well said. For me the injury concern isn't the "right now" as much as it is "will it effect his longevity?" Unless I am forgetting someone, Manning is the only recollection I have of a similar sitch....Different position/age/etc. but he held up for like 3 or so years, before his skills diminished beyond effective......again I understand the differences but I don't think its known what the expectations are for any individual long term.....I hope its for a good long time.....but it does concern me, mostly because its not an injury procedure that has a lot of examples to draw from in terms of how it plays out long term.
    • Context is king. Thank you for sharing that. I'll look up some more information on his situation, or at least I will if my dang eye every slows down on swelling!
