Its real...$5.3 for one year..

..I agree..he's a tough fit on and off the court for them.

But they can afford to gamble

Yes they have the leeway to gamble. They’re clearly the best team in basketball and added an insurance policy. Lord oh mighty

If they fit him in and he gets healthy ....its over for everybody...He'll never see a double team

.....and Durant doenst need to worry about rebounds anymore

They could have 5 of the best 30 players in the NBA..I'm glad the Pacers are in the East

This may mean the Tyreke Evans to Indiana thing is real.

Lakers and Warriors didnt have $12 mil left to spend and they sure dont now

Evans would be big for us...Offensively, he plays a lot like Paul George..

Defensively, he's not good...but he's always scored in double figures

  hey, we're Okay.

I'm reading a story on-line where TJ Leaf says he's bigger, faster and stronger than last season.:gym:

He's becaome a lean, mean, 6-10, 250-pound scoring machine!!

It is a possibility!!  A slight one but a possibility!!

Must say, NBA player reaction to Boogie is quite funny.

Lets get this Tyreke news to be official and move on to this MLE.

$8.6m should get us another solid guy.

Assuming we get Evans, what are you guys looking for? PF depth or another 3pt specialist(Ellington)?

I like Ellington but we need a physical bench guy like Marcus Smart.

Folks are going to go overboard on Cousins but he may not be able to play until March, if then

I seriously doubt Boogie can replace the greatness of JaVale McGee :sarcasm::banana:So what is everyone worried about :funny:

Yeah, Magic Johnson must know something about JaVelle that a lot of people dont know.

I heard on NBA radio that when Magic discussed free agents with LBJ, LeBron suggested Lance.

I never bought the idea that LeBron didnt understand the way Lance played him...

I'm sad he's gone but Lance may be very popular in LA...

Lance may do well in LA, he is crazy enough to blend into that Hollywood lifestyle.

Unless Im mistaken..

the only players under guaranteed contracts for 2019-2020 with the Pacers are:

Victor Oladipo

Myles Turner (a 5th year team option)

Domantas Sabonis

Doug McDermott

TJ Leaf

Aaron Holliday

Next summer we should go all in for Klay Thompson!

There's no promise that Boogie comes back as the old Boogie.  He could be very slow, unathletic, unexplosive, etc.  With that said, I don't think he'll have trouble fitting in with the team.  He knows a lot of the players from his Team USA time and I think his character is much better when he's surrounded by talented players.  A lot of what we saw in Sacramento was frustration by having to do everything for the team.  I'm sure he also understands and respects the structure the Warriors have and knows he needs them more than they need him.

Did the Warriors do this because they're scared of LeBron in LA?  Or were they simply just trying to improve regardless of what else is going on?

For this year our hope is that our last 2 No.1 draft choices make an impact.

If Leaf becomes a 20-25 minute 10 ppg guy off the bench and Holiday can team with Cory Joseph to get the best of other teams backup guards, we could have a very effective 10-man rotation like Toronto.

Our starting lineup is 5 vets who are what they are..

.....If the second five 'wins' their matchup, we'll win most of those games

We have a Good team. IMO Oladipo can still even get better so can Turner. Sabonis has even turned out to be Good - who knew? Bogdanovic is one of the best 3 pointer shooters in the league as well. Eventhough it's not a Championship team I will still watch because they give 100% everynight and are fun to watch. + They will win 50 games and go deep in the East IMO. Nobody is beating the Warriors anyway so I know a Championship isn't possible.

anything's possible..Houston was one old guys hamstring away from winning last year.

...Durant will be 30 this fall..Steph wll be 31 this winter..they're getting old, too

..and I dont like to count on veterans suddenly getting better. I hope they do but Oladipo would have hard time getting better.....after 3 years I think I see what Myles is....

Its not realistic to look at Oladipo's vivid 5th season improvement and assume Myles can do the same.

I just assume he'll be what he's been for 3 years

I really think the improvement would have to come from the bench..we didnt have a 9th or 10th guy most of the year. We can win a couple more games if we can go 10 deep.  Tyreke Evans and Doug McDermott just doing what they do would be big

A couple more games means home court in April.

Home court is everything in April and May

I honestly don't think the Lakers were real interested in him anyway hearing from Laker people on other Sites. Boogie's injury was a bad one. Magic wants Kawhi Leonard to join LeBron and I have been hearing they may bring back Lopez because Lopez is a stretch 5 that can hit the 3.

I think Dipo and Turner both can improve, they are both young. Regarding Houston beating the Warriors, I am one that thinks the Warriors still would've found a way to win Game 7 had CP3 played. CP3 usually comes up small in huge games. Anything is possible of course but the Warriors are overwhelming favorites to win it all again and they should be.

I was looking up different people's all-time greatest players list's and they are very interesting. The 2 guys opinions I respect most on this are Bill Simmons, and Stephen A Smith. They have wrote books on this type of stuff and eat, breathe, live Basketball. They have studied the Stats and have seen players live since the early 70's, have seen more film than most on players from the 50's and 60's. Here are their top 5's:

Simmons Top 5

1. Michael Jordan

2. Bill Russell

3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

4. LeBron James

5. Magic Johnson

Smith's Top 5

1. Michael Jordan

2. LeBron James

3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

4. Magic Johnson

5. Tim Duncan

Here's mine as of July 3rd 2018

1. Michael Jordan

2. Magic Johnson

3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

4. LeBron James

5. Wilt Chamberlain

-I have seen film as well and nobody was more dominant than Wilt in his era. I have seen my other 4 live. Wilt once averaged 50.4 Points a game and 25.7 Rebounds in 1 season. He did win 2 Championships as well on 2 different teams.

-Simmons is from Boston so of course he has Russell 2nd LOL, The reason why he has Russell 2nd is his # of Championships won (11) he explained. But IMO Wilt was the better player. Championships are a big factor in ranking players but so are Stats and individual play. Championships won before 1966 are sort of MEH IMO because a team only had to win 2 series to win a Championship before then. Russell won 8 of his 11 before the 1966 Season.

Sure, most anything is possible, but the odds are bad.

I don't think 30 and 31 is very old and we won't see the drop off this year or next.

Nearly everyone had Golden State beating Cleveland in the finals before the season even started.   Certainly after Boston lost Hayward in the first game.   Sure enough, what happened?   Golden State beat Cleveland in the finals.   Bummer when a season goes as if it went off a script.   Golden State will win again.

I'm hoping the Pacers sign a good defender.   They lost their ace defender in Lance.  They can't afford to have Olidipo use all his energy of the D side of the ball.

Wow. When did Chris Paul come up 'small' in the 2018 playoffs?

They were 11-4 in playoff games he played in 2018...0-2 in games he missed

He was dominating (10 of 20, 27 points in game 5 vs. GSW) until he got hurt

Houston led the West semifinal 3-games to 2...

If being injured is being 'small' I guess Chris Paul is 'small Paul'

But Golden State shouldnt be an overwhelming favorite over Houston.

Houston was the top seed last year

How quickly we forget

30 and 31 is old in the NBA

..with Al Jefferson gone...every single player in the Pacers organization is 30 or under.

Everyone has quickly forgotten that Houston had GSW beaten (3-2 lead and playing at home) until 32-year-old Chris Paul got hurt.

Golden State isnt the team they were a couple of years ago,,and folks arent paying attention to Cousins injury and how serious it was

Golden State won the NBA Championship and added an all star player for next years playoff push.   Smart money is on them to repeat again.

That's what I'm reading, too.

If he recovers well, Cousins still isnt going to play before the all-star game..and its a 1-year deal.

Lakers are putting together a team for the 2019 playoffs..they need shooters and people who arent afraid of anything (Rondo, Lance) ..

....Rajan Rondo is the first true lead guard to play with LeBron in years..

..when Rondo is on the floor, LeBron will play off the ball and he will accept it

I bet LeBron respects Lance a lot. Lance never once backed down from him. I'm sure he annoyed LeBron many times but he knows Lance is a fighter.

The torn ACL would be an issue if he was needed before next March or April.   He's not.  He gets to slowly get himself back.   Even if he is 80% of what he was, he would still be a great player to have for a playoff push.

Again, 30 and 31 is not old in the NBA on a team loaded as the Warriors are.  Age will play a factor in a couple years, not next season.   Last season, Green, Thompson, Curry, Durant and others missed time and the Warriors still won it all.   They are built where they could lose a starter for the season and still win.  It is not a sure thing of course, but I'd say percentage is 80%+ they win it all again.
