Absolutely was.
The rough part is that thanks to the putrid run defense, we haven't really needed him for pass defense yet... His coverage for all we know could be pretty bad. If we ever figure out how to stop the run I guess we'll find out the truth.
The money really isn’t an issue to me, tbh. First of all, our ultra frugal GM makes sure to leave plenty of unused cap space, so it’s not like we need that money elsewhere. Second, with the way the cap increases every year that deal’s percentage of cap space shrinks every year, and even at its highest %, it was peanuts.
While everyone else lost their minds about the deal being a record for a kicker that has always been a nonstarter for me, and in the grand scheme it’s not a huge deal.
Not getting what we paid for is another story, however.
It's just weird not seeing linebackers reading runs and going forward to drill rb's in a hole.
Leonard's turnover creating peanut punches and interceptions helped mask how weak our D's were. Ballard is a failure at producing a contender type D.
And there are more than enough points on the graph as proof.
