Yeah, I just don't care one bit about Johnny Manziel. He's not a good player, so it doesn't matter to me what he does.

I think that is the issue.  The Browns (as foolish as they are) want him to be a good player and be their franchise.  So he is held to that standard.

But if you call it like it is... This really is a non story. lol

Just from a scouting perspective, if I don't like the way the guy plays, I don't care what he acts like off the field. To me, it's all a bunch of noise about a bad QB. He could be a model citizen, he'd still be on his way out of the league, IMO.

As dumb as he is, the Browns are even worse to gamble on a doofus like that.

What's even funnier, is the Browns spent large sums of money on analytics.  Their own report said to take Teddy Bridgewater over Johnny Manziel.  They ignore the results of their own study and take Johhny football!!  LOL!  Some things you just can't make up!

Now Jerry Jones gets another shot at the QB his people (rightly so) talked him out of.

"NFL player spotted in Las Vegas"

So what?

The Browns require all players in concussion protocol to meet clubs medical team on Sunday morning at 9:00 am.  Johnny was a no show.

He is really trying to get the Browns to dump him off at Jerry's special home for wayward boys...

Yeah I saw all of that. Didn't realize at the time that he was supposed to check in Sunday morning, and didn't realize that he did not check in. He's definitely not a smart person.

"Hey you look familiar, what's your name?"

"Johnny.......Baseball"

With the 1268th pick in round 43 of the MLB draft, the San Diego Padres select... Johnny Baseball!!

Post draft nterview with GM:  "Why select Manziel in round 43?"

"Because the guy we selected in round 42 finally showed some activity on an EEG we administered to him!  That moved him up above Johnny Baseball."

What I never get is the effort he put out to be successful in college, then make it to the pros then deliberately trash himself . I can't help but think Jerry Jones is going for the publicity as he contemplates bringing him to Dallas because unless Doctor Phil will be on the sidelines this kid is a waste. Helping should be reserved for those who want it.

I'm not sure that was necessarily effort or just being more athletic then everyone else.

He was the same party boy in college.

Didn't I read somewhere that this has been a long time problem and lifestyle with him?  Very possible that he is an alcoholic (not being mean spirited here, just looking at the history)  and thinking until he accepts this and accepts the fact that he cannot drink -- nothing will ever change.

I don't think there's much that can be done at this point.  I remember reading an article before Manziel was drafted in which his parents were interviewed and his background was laid out.  His dad was an up and coming pro golfer who threw his career away due to his temper.  Both his parents said they were worried about Johnny but neither one seemed to know what to do to help or they just didn't care enough.  Basically, he's repeating the same mistake his father made.  Their family is a vicious cycle at this point.

    • Not the same Josh Allen who's now the early odds on favorite to win league MVP this season. Seems like AR's stats are better six games in to start his career as compared to Allen at the same juncture. You can see AR's raw talent that's similar to Allen's who also shared the same narrative coming out about accuracy, touch etc BUT the difference is that the Bills were patient in his development and the overall team got better on a yearly basis.   AR basically missed his rookie season early last year so his growing pains will rear its head as he flashes both good and bad plays. The  receivers aren't making it any easier by having some untimely drive stalling drops so far. AR also doesn't have the luxury of an elite TE as a security blanket but the biggest problem is that most Colt fans are getting restless with the consistent ongoing non factor of the team seemingly on a yearly basis which hasn't been good enough to accomplish anything.   Last season created a false narrative that the team was better than they really were because they barely missed the playoffs after losing the last home game to a very young Texan team led by a rookie qb. So instead of upgrading the talent Ballard chose to run it all back with his mostly mediocre team that still has yet to see any type of sustained success even with the help of a nearly last place schedule a season ago.   Ballard's decision to bring back Gus as dc after finishing 28th in points allowed in back to back seasons is mind blowing! The defense is ranked nearly dead last in run defense and 3rd down efficiency so far this season yet the "great" EJ Speed is barking about the offense. Lol Now off to an 0-2 start the patience for AR's early growth will be slim but on the flip slide Ballard has been given an EIGHT yr pass (record wise) of subpar results.
    • Say what we will.  The only numeric of real meaning is 0-2.
    • The OL is one of the few bright spots of this team this year.  Defense not stopping the run and Shane playcalling having AR throwing 30 times a game is what’s leading to our downfall.
