Frank Gore

Gore has always been a workhorse back. He can carry the load. Give him a little daylight and he can still put up good yardage. He just needed the touches man. The first two weeks he was on and off the field so much it was like a revolving door. Leave the man in and let him do what he does best. From this point on Gore has to get 15 plus carries a game. It opens up the playaction pass, saw it last night on the first TD pass. Johnson was wide open and the only way that happens is because Gore was gashing them with the run.

Trent Richardson hits the hole as quick as a dead horse.

#neverforget

LOL that is true, but he was cut by the Raiders and the Bills signed Boom Herron over Trent when they both worked out this past week.  I think Trent had his last chance in the NFL, and is in Ryan Leaf mode now.  I think it's time to move on...

Trent Richardson deserves all the % he gets and then some. He was a lazy, self-aggrandizing piece of crap who probably, to this day, still believes he's the best back in the NFL.

Heady times for Gore as a player.  Just jumped 2 spots to 16 on the all time list.  With any luck (pun intended) he can jump a couple more spots this year.  If he plays again next year with the same effect, the sky's clear for top 8!  Hope you guys appreciate and show him the appreciation for what he's accomplished, and I hope he gets a Superbowl ring with you.

I would love for the Colts to release Robinson and sign Bradshaw this weekend. Gore and Bradshaw together could be huge for our offense.

I'm praying we sign Ahmad soon..

Maybe they will sign him towards the end of the season or in the home stretch for the playoffs. . .

We really do need a good pass catching back.  Bradshaw really showed what could be if we incorporated that into our offense.

Exactly this ^^^^^^

It is like Gore said during the post game show. The more carries he gets the more production you will get from him. He needs to at least get 15 touches a game, and let him do his thing. Boy is it nice to have a great running back that has elite vision.

Robinson can't get better or experience without playing. You have to take ups with the downs. Let the kid develop, and that means more than just 5 games. On top of that, they aren't releasing a draft pick they see potential in. Tipton, on the other hand, can be the guy the let go for Bradshaw if necessary.

I don't think we can afford to wait on Robinson to develop. We can, but not as the #2. It's too important to get positive snaps out of whoever spells Gore and Robinson has done very little positive with his chances.

He's only had 17 carries through 5 games so far. That's way to early to give up on him. Don't get me wrong I'm down with getting Bradshaw, but not at the expense of Robinson as another poster suggested.

With about 90 seconds left in the game, I wanted Gore to get one more carry to put him over 100 yards before the Colts went into Victory formation, but I got no satisfaction.  Oh well, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes...

I'll admit, i was thinking the same thing however, today, I look back and its the right call.  Could you imagine the forum explosion if pags had ran Gore for those 2 yards and he had gotten hurt or fumbled and the texans returned it for a TD...

I'm not giving up on him, I just don't think he's good enough right now to be our #2.

    • I guess the whole question is the merits of the report. You report on his diabetes with tons of guesses and speculations and WITHOUT taking the side of the person who's been affected here and who's living and dealing with that condition. You report on the player being uncoachable WITHOUT taking the opinion of his coaches about being coachable or not(and BTW from what I've heard both from Colts and Texas coaches, this is resoundingly NOT TRUE). You report about him being immature and honestly, everything I've seen on the surface suggests the opposite. You report about his combine performance by giving it a pretty harsh reading(the video is in this thread and the account of what happened by McGinn is in this thread... People can actually go and look at what happened and make their own mind about whether the characterization of that workout was fair or not. I will just say you can represent the player stumbling in a drill and going again in various different ways and McGinn chose a specific way to represent it. It was the most negative way you could choose).    You know I had my own reservations about that outburst by Ballard at the presser, but the more I'm learning about Mitchell the more I actually believe in what Ballard was saying and the less merit those reports have in my mind. Maybe I have my own unconscious biases too, now that I have vested interest in Mitchell actually being good for us. I don't know     I guess ultimately none of it matters. AD's success or failure won't depend on some pre-draft reports... it will depend on how he handles himself from now on, how hard he works, his drive to be great and our staff's ability to get the best of him.
    • Hmmm.   ”Healthy excuses will be hard to come by.”    Really?   Richardson, who had less than a thousand snaps in college, then had roughly 200 snaps his rookie year.  There’s one.   And Houston has Stroud who had a great rookie year.  Aren’t most media predicting Houston and JVille ahead of Indy this year?  That’s two without any trouble.     I just think insisting on a division title because a fan thinks it’s time doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.   Sorry, just my two cents…. And often not worth that much.
    • For me absolutely it does. If Richardson stays healthy excuses will be hard to come up with. As positive as I am with Ballard at some point we have to start winning. He bet on himself by bringing in his own home grown talent this year, what he does at safety in the coming month and a half has me worried as well. We were so close to winning the division last year with a back up QB that my expectation is winning the AFC south this year.    If they make it into the wild card game and lose then the seat is just as hot for me. If they advance further and make a Cinderella run then I’m fully back on board.
    • 3 straight losses for the Reds. They have their moments where they play well. But it’s time to be real. They aren’t a playoff team and will never be as long as the Castillinis own them and David Bell is manager.    De La Cruz is fun, but his career will be wasted on this team.
    • Am I reading this correct?   You think Ballard’s seat gets hot if the Colts don't win the AFC South?  Really?   So if the Colts don’t win the south but make the playoffs Ballard’s seat still gets hot?    Just making sure I understand your viewpoint.
