  1. That’s the cover 2 for you. Dungy’s defenses always played the corners that far off
  2. you don't understand the difference between the two issues. A linebacker can have a labrum repair and return to lifting and being a linebacker just fine typically. Its a completely different issue with a thrower. I have no doubt luck has been lifting on that shoulder just fine. The issue is when you involve the motion and torque on the joint when you throw a ball. A labrum repair for a thrower is always risky and there will always be a question if the shoulder will return to the level of performance it had before the injury and repair. The forces and torque placed on the shoulder joint by profession quarterbacks and pitchers is incredible if the joint is not healthy it reduces velocity, accuracy and other issues. Basically labrum damage can reduce superman to an average joe velocity wise.
  3. Everyone assumes, I think, that buy "weighted balls" that hes throwing balls that are as heavy or heavier than a football. We don't know that. Baseball players will used balls that are lighter than a real ball. I think its a bad sign that he has yet to throw a football and would find it hard to believe that if he has not at this point that he could be ready for camp.
  4. Just a quote from the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I was being funny.
  5. And if Charley Casserly told you that wolverines make good house pets would you believe him?
  6. Lets face it, it won't take a lot to crack this LB depth chart. We have very little talent there especially going to a 4-3 alignment. Obviously Will is the most important position in the 4-3 LB corp. Sounds like a solid pick me.
  7. uni produced david Johnson. its a first rate program that plays top competition in the 1aa. he'll be fine.
  8. can he drop into coverage? need that from a cover 2 mlb
  9. just goes to show that numbers do not make a football player
  10. 56, my number in high school and my position. Destined for glory
  11. I'm not defending his view point but I too feel like Ballard has maybe skewed his draft strategy toward athleticism vs football skill. Time will tell if his draft strategy is a sound one or not.
  12. We have a quite a ways to go before saying we are contenders. We still have a couple of holes that I think exist before we can really say anything about contending. 1) Elite pass rusher 2) better than average running game 3) a healthy Andrew Luck.
  13. The little tape ive seen of him he has a great burst. hope he's Robert mathis 2.0
  14. At first glance this seems like TJ 2.0. I hope he turns out to be a great selection. My only question is maybe he was taken a little high. If he turns out to be a 8-10 sack a year guy he was worth it. I read a couple of responses in the press that questioned taking him so high.
  15. Very True. Ive said from the beginning that it certainly is not guaranteed that Luck will return from this 100% and certainly a chance he cant return as an NFL caliber thrower. This information from him today doesn't give me a lot of confidence that he'll be ready for the season or any season.
  16. I'm not saying he wont. Im skeptical but I hope he does. My points are that Ballard needs to hit a homerun in this draft with the picks that he has and add a couple of true playmakers.
  17. So, because I'm not a fan of Ballard's first draft and I'm concerned that after a year and 3 months that Andrew Luck is still not throwing a real football that I'm believing in the worst case scenario 24/7? I'll stick by my original post, Ballard has to have a great draft this year, better than last year, in order to get things rolling in the right direction. We need a number of playmakers. I know you cant do it in one draft.
  18. jewell, complete opposite of Morrison. Jewell has instincts and can drop in the deep middle to cover the pass which Morrison cannot do.
  19. Not sure why you think hes a 3-4 inside LB. He was Iowa's 4-3 MLB for several years and did an excellent job dropping into the deep middle to defend the pass. He'll make someone a good MLB.
  20. I don't think either one stand much of chance of breaking out of anything except the NFL after next season.
  21. I mentioned those players because they were all, for the most part, playmakers. We have maybe 2 on the team now if Luck returns to form. As for Luck, I'm just being a realist. He still isn't throwing a football that we know of. He's working with Tom House. Fantastic. He's been rehabbing for over a year. This is a HUGE question mark still.
  22. Teams don't change schemes every year. You're splitting hairs when you say if they were moving on from Luck it would be a complete rebuild. Sure, Luck is still the franchise QB so that piece is in place, kind of. Until I actually see him throwing passes in live drills Luck is still a huge question mark. As far as how things go in the NFL its pretty much a complete rebuild, JMO.
