oldunclemark
Can we talk? Eventually there's going to be a 3-and-out ....deep in Indy territory. This will be the moment..... The ball leaves the foot of Mr. "Punters are people, too!!" ....It will soar in the mile high air...above the rim of the stadium....NASA will track it Mouths will drop open in awe.....How far will it go? How far can it go?? What the NFL record distance for a single punt??

SOMDColtsfan
I picture that but I`d rather skip the punting deep in our own territory scenario lol and let the question be "can Boomstick hit a FG from 65+yds out"..hope he gets an attempt! Poster X
The BIGGER question: How far can Pat kick the winning FG in Denver? Judging by the one he missed in the preseason 70 yards isn't out of the question in the right conditions for Pat.

thedude
The big question: How far can McAfee punt the ball in Denver? About that same as he punts at home. The elevation in Denver is probably the most overrated thing in sports.

The elevation in Denver is probably the most overrated thing in sports.I don't know about football, so you may be right about that. But in baseball, you should see some of the home/road splits for the Rockies players. It can be very skewed
dgambill
The big question: How far can McAfee punt the ball in Denver? About that same as he punts at home. The elevation in Denver is probably the most overrated thing in sports.I don't think so. I see guys SUCKING that oxogen between series. It can also affect the grip guys get on the football....one reason I think Peyton has gone to the glove (low humidity causes it to be slick I believe). I think the kicks travel (if the same as a baseball) approximately 8% further but I don't think its that big of a deal. All this said just pin them inside the 20....I can care less if my kicker kicks it 70 yds and the returner then has time and space to set up a 50 yd return...Pat could work on his directional kicking a lot I think...sometimes it isn't how far but how much hang time and pinning a team close to the sideline to make return lanes smaller. ColtsFanMikeC
The BIGGER question: How far can Pat kick the winning FG in Denver? I had a dream 2 nights ago that we beat Denver 52-49 on a walk-off 67 yarder from Patty Mac! Man, that'd be sweet!
ColtsBlueFL
I'll bet a long way, but if he out kicks the coverage team but not over the returners head, I don't want to see it. Unless he is ready to lay wood on another return specialist. But the Net isn't good.
