Summary of my scouting report on him:

Mewhort has good size for an offensive tackle and has very good foot work, as well as the strength to go up against anyone. His hand placement isn't always good, but he doesn't have any major faults. Projection: 2nd Round -- 3rd Round

Exactly...

Picks like this NEVER make fans happy.    Fans want the sexy picks...  When in reality,  If a team has no O line or D line you wont win.

Oh and keeping Andrew Luck "untouched" and not running for his life would be MY priority if I were Indy's GM.

Great job here Grigs.......... :td:

saw on twitter Colts had him pegged as a center. He played tackle in college and most teams liked him as a guard he's versatile if nothing else.

Grigson....why.

look at the pounding Luck took last year and the fact the Colts did nothing in free agency to upgrade the oline since the one guy they signed retired and I don't get the outrage people have with us going oline early. I know online isn't exciting but if we don't protect Luck all the exciting players we do have won't do us much good.

Its not the position it's the player. Huge reach.

You're an Ohio fan, right?

Great pick!  Strong guy.  Strong as an ox. Can play likely every position on the line.  Should be our future LG.  Great pick. This is the area we need the most help.

Please don't say that because Mel Kiper didn't have him rated his highly, he was a bad pick.

He picked the WRONG O line tho. Jackson was on the board so was Richardson

I've heard "Grigson better fix the O-line before Luck gets killed" and now he does and we possibly have four starting caliber guards for when one or two gets hurt and you all hate the pick. Some want Grigson fired because Mewhort is a bust already and he hasn't even been a Colt for 10 minutes. Ridicuous isn't it? I like the pick, was hoping for Oline in the 3rd, but got it earlier which is better for me. I don't want Luck killed and know we're doomed with injuries.

Also, Nix is probably available for a reason.

You know the guy we passed on?

The ND all-American?  We passed on Nix..which was a significant need..D-line

we'll see

I follow ND closely.  Nix isn't quite right.  His injury was more severe than most people think.

It's telling that the Pats also passed on him.  He would've been a perfect fit for them as well.

    • Hey Everyone,   So, I just caught wind of Goodson's apology letter after dropping that short pass from Minshew against the Texans last season. Here's my humorous take on the situation:   "Dear Fans, Coaches, Teammates, and Supporters,   I'm writing to apologize for buttering up that short pass in the most critical moment against the Texans. Look, I know I'm the backup running back, but hey, I'm usually good for catching those short throws - emphasis on 'usually'. My bad for turning a routine play into a blooper reel moment.   To my teammates, sorry for making you wonder if I was secretly playing for the other team. Next time, I'll practice catching more than just footballs thrown by the water boy.   To the coaches, maybe let's reconsider throwing short passes to guys who have hands that are more slippery than a greased pig at the county fair. Just a suggestion.   And to the fans, thanks for turning my drop into a meme. I promise to work on my catching skills so I can make highlights, not lowlights, next season.   Sincerely, Goodson (aka the running back who should stick to running)"   Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist. Let's hope Goodson has been hitting those catching drills hard this offseason!
    • I remember looking for highlights of TJ after we drafted him.  I kept finding videos of him following OJ Howard into the endzone.  Not sure if Howard was his responsibility, but it didn't paint a promising picture.
    • Ballard,   So, yeah, about that whole "bust" thing—I guess the cat's out of the bag. Turns out, I'm more of a popcorn fart than a thunderclap. My bad.   When you drafted me, I thought I was gonna be the Colts' next big thing. You know, sacking quarterbacks, making highlight reels, maybe even getting my face on a cereal box someday. But instead, I've been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.   I've watched the tapes, Coach. I've seen the memes. They're comparing my NFL career to a hangover—starts off with high hopes, and ends with regret and a lot of Gatorade. And honestly, I get it. I'm like that guest who shows up to a party uninvited and ends up eating all the chips.   So, here's my mea culpa. I apologize for not living up to the hype. For every missed tackle, every missed sack, and that one time I accidentally tackled our own quarterback in practice (sorry, Philip). I'm like the guy who brings a guitar to a party and insists on playing Wonderwall—I'm annoying and not nearly as good as I think I am.   But hey, I'm not giving up. I'm hitting the gym, studying film (mostly bloopers at this point), and practicing my touchdown dance for when pigs finally fly. I promise to work harder and maybe, just maybe, I'll redeem myself and earn my place in the Hall of Mediocrity.   Thanks for believing in me, and letting me live my dream for 4 years straight whilst simultaneously producing nothing for your team. I'll make you proud yet, even if it's just by being the team's MVP of Bust Central, and we aren't talking bronze heads.    Sincerely, Ben "The Bust" Banagous (Not sponsored by Gatorade yet, but a guy can dream)
    • if you scream MODS! in anything I write,  I might get in trouble. hahaha
    • MODS!  This should be enough to force you to bring back the laughing emoji option!   Funny stuff!
