Like New England is in a strong division? As far as Grigson knowing who to draft I guess you haven't been keeping track. You let one pick determine your opinion without seeing the bigger picture. Ah by the way, your GM is the head coach.
Yeah, there's definitely a heavy dose of artistic license in that writer's article. Click bait is exactly right.
At least, Kevin Van Valkenberg didn't use the phrase age is the "chink in Manning's NFL armor"; Otherwise, he might have been fired. [ESPN Jeremy Lin fallout NBA reference.]
Unless they really value Elliot like that, I'm convinced the 1st round pick will be defense. I know analysts keep mocking offensive tackles to us but I don't see it.
You don't draft for need but I don't think Grigson deciding to go with the BPA on defense would be a terrible idea. Matt Miller pointed out in his latest draft that while the O-Line could use some work, the D is the bigger area of need (he mocked Shaq Lawson to us if you're wondering). And that's a reasonable take away.
Billings is a powerful NT, if he's there we could take him. Lawson and Floyd are explosive pass rushers who would fit our D, we could take either of them at 18. Buckner is a plug and play 3-4 DE who is a monster and would be an easy pick at 18.
So while the Colts don't have to go defense with every pick, they could easily get a game wrecker early on.
