Pittman injured; out weeks

This injury announcement came as such a surprise.  No indication from missed practices.  No missed single games.  All of the sudden -- BOOM -- projected multiple games.  Why is this?  I would say probably because Pittman is tough, and doesn't let injury affect his preparation and play.  He gets out there, injured or not.  In other words, you don't see him writhing on the ground in agony one play, and then begging to be let back into the game two plays later.

I think some of the Ballard-apologists would rather have the team lose so they can bash the people they view as "negative", rather than have the team win so we can all be happy as a forum and make the playoffs every year. They get off on attacking people who don't "appeal to authority" as if we have to tow the company line as fans.

These people only figure out things when it happens at the last second, and very rarely do they apologize or admit when they are wrong.

Josh Downs anyone?

I don’t see his name anywhere in this discussion.   Hurt?   Something wrong with him?

When he plays, Steichen loves him.

Someone?    Anyone?

Downs will always get his. But MPJ draws coverage from other WRs. This is a huge loss.

Mitchell is not the answer.  Serious case of alligator arms. At least twice against Jax he had catchable passes that he didn't really make an honest attempt to catch. Both would have extended drives. If I'm the QB I stop looking for him. He just becomes a guy on the field. It won't be long before DCs figure that out and leave him to double.

I agree. Should go with Dulin and maybe bring up Montgomery or Treadwell.

Mitchell will continue to get opportunities.    He gets open.

I’m not saying otherwise.   I love Pitt.

But I scrolled thru the discussion and no one had mentioned Downs at all.   So I thought I’d name drop.

This is a bit extreme, but there is truth to the idea that targets are earned. And a WR who is not willing to give full effort is going to lose the trust of a QB...and the targets that come with it.

He did have alligator arms a couple times but he is a rookie so I would expect it time to time.

That wr is getting open more than any other wr in the league.   Stop acting like you know anything

Pointing out that he made a snap judgment about something happening only .5 years into a 3 years contract is a fair point.

Making a deal out of trivia that Pitt technically was an early FA instead of being extended is simply a "gotcha" move that ignores the point.

Getting flustered is the person who triggers over a trivial fact being incorrect, and has to write a gotcha post on the internet about it.

some posters on here cant help but be rude and try to make other posters look dumb. it makes them feel important and builds up their fragile ego.

Good thing you're not the qb. Did you give up on Pierce this early too?

    • Putting the injuries aside.   It didn't take nor does it ever take anyone with a common sense of football and good football play to understand that when your team has been a consistent middle of the road mediocre team or worse with the same aspect in their overall player quality and then the GM re-signs or gives extensions to those middle of the road mediocre players that produced those middle of the road results, what did everyone really expect to happen here? That they would magically get better?    It's one thing to want to retain your guys and if your guys are good or great then I totally agree. We all should. But when your guys are just a bunch of jags then you need better guys, not give jag guys contracts that some would argue are deemed for better players.   There are many on this forum that were happy when we signed all these jags and brought them back. Some of us were not.   Who is looking like the smart ones now?   Could it be the ones who always get chastised for being critical?
    • Im not sure what to make of the Seahawks, I think they can be a really good team but they’re constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Geno has been seeing ghosts tonight and I’m not sure when he started that bad habit.
    • 😀 Thanks!  First time for us at Nissan Stadium so we shall see.  I am actually hoping to see Treadwell elevated and playing.  He went to HS about 35 minutes from us and graduated a year before my son so we followed his career closely.
    • Not surprised.  That’s Rodgers team lol
    • I was down on Sermon last year because he tried to run before the catch a couple times last year, and dropped easy catches. This year he's caught everything so far, and fights for yards. He ain't JT, but he's as good as anybody else we can trot out there so far.
