Superman just made a post showing that White has been wanting $20 mill a year from Tampa.   They said goodbye and now the best deal he could get is 1/$7.5.  I think the NFL has spoken about just how good White really is.

Yeah I just finished reading it. Glad we didnt pay him the 20mil

FWIW:   Wash has a new GM.  He’s from the 49ers, so maybe the Commanders won’t screw things up too badly.   :peek:

Plus I’m the GM in our mock draft this year so at least in make believe land they will kill it lol.

I think Ballard has handled, and shown some of his cards, on how this offseason will develop. Signing the productive home grown FA's has eliminated him chasing after overpriced free agents just to fill the gaps that known quantities will occupy. This approach allows the draft to bring in the expensive position ( WR,CB, S, edge, OL/DL)  talent for 4 years on affordable contracts while filling the other gaps. by "showing his cards" I think it will be a heavy offensive draft, how will depend on how the first round falls. I would expect a trade back or two to get 9 picks instead of the current 7, with the mix to be 5-6 offensive and 3-4 defensive picks. The FA approach gives a lot of flexibility on how the Colts can draft and build to the future championships and the golden ring!

I keep reading that this draft is very weak after Round 4. If true, the value in accumulating more Day 3  picks won’t be there this year.

It is. I remember hearing from someone that day 3 picks are like UDFAs in this draft.

Have seen that too. this years draft has an overly proportion of 5th year players due to the covid years, don't see how it could be a blanket label of weak. There are players in the 5th-7th round that can be worthwhile.

I heard one of the reasons the draft was deep last year was because of Covid and kids getting a extra year of eligibility.

Yeah I agree. I believe there was a lot of seniors and even 5th year players that declared last year. This year there are significantly less players.

Ballard was asked  during his combine presser about the older players in draft

You're not alone.   Certainly not this year and quite honestly pretty much every year.

The majority if the community gets upset as Ballard mostly sits out week one and then makes his move on week two.

Quite honestly, I think this year is the most active Ballard has been in week one as he has re-signed his own.

Generally speaking week one is where all the sexy FA’s get overpaid.  Unless he sees something so important he needs to throw all caution to the wind I think it’s not terrible to let the dust settle.

I just got a new phone, and it logged back in no problem. It’s saved somewhere, and that works for me lol.

@jskinnz It's saved in your browser... If you're using Google Chrome in your phone (if Android, not iPhone), Chrome does a great job remembering your passwords across different phones, computers, laptops, tablets. You should've no problem signing back in a new phone. Other browsers should do the same ideally, but I've not checked much.

I agree….  And I’m with ya.

But in our community this is a very unpopular opinion.   People think Ballard’s approach is wrong.   They see what most teams do and think Ballard’s process is deeply flawed.   And it’s been that way since he became the GM.

He does believe in delayed gratification :) j/k

The slightly longer you go, FA safeties, CBs, WRs etc. get antsy and that’s how the playoff teams cash in, so why not us??

Maybe Ballard will blow everyone's mind and land Sneed Homer Simpson Spinning GIF

I would love that because to deal with good QBs and WRs, you need good CBs and safeties.

There is going to be plenty of slinging in the AFC South, IMO

Good grief. We need another wr. Surely we aren’t going into the season with just Pitt, Downs and scrubs…..

You realize the draft class is loaded. We will get one at 15 or with our second or third round pick. We are fine.

    • My thoughts on the game Sunday against the bears. We didn't look too bad, the game probably shouldn't have been close at all. We have an awful tendency that any time we get a 2 score lead we really soften up the defense and let the opponent go right down the field. Has happened way too consistently these past 52 years. Richardson is so close to hitting on the big plays. Guys are open, he just needs to get them the ball more efficiently. The 3rd down miss to Taylor out of the back field was particularly bad because I'm sure the bears very highly paid free agent linebacker was not going to get there to stop Taylor and the other bear coming over also looked late. I think Taylor would have run the ball down the sideline along way(instead, we punted). It's kind of hard to judge the defense because of all the super soft zone we play, just continuing that 52 year history of Colt defense. If Richardson get's it going we are going to score a lot of points, but just like when Jones, Manning and Luck played qb, we will give up a lot also, apparently that's just the way it is. Overall good game, knew it would be tight. I will add here that some of you are WHINING that the defense sucks because Cross has to make too many tackles(that is true to some extent), but you know what else is true, he Is MAKING THOSE TACKLES and not whiffing  or taking bad angles, keep up the good work Nick.
    • JJ did really well showing some fancy footwork on the 2 ints.   Not only that the Colts won the game.   Why are Colts fans so angry?
    • Apparently this punter is left footed and Steelers have a left footed punter. Not sure what kind of advantage that gives colts if he doesn’t sign to PS and doesn’t practice.
    • The Bears knew JT would be getting the ball at 2:01.  The oline and JT pounded it for a first down.   What you are talking about,  literally just happened
