After what happened with Matt Araiza, I will hold judgement on this 100% until more information is available.

Different situation. The Araiza case was more of a drunk girl with drunk guys and regrets afterwards.  and not much evidence other than a video where allegedly it appears she’s consenting.

This seems to be more concrete if they’re charging with bodily injury. Based on my professional experience with this stuff, To charge that here in the state of Indiana, a screening by a state licensed medical facility is required to confirm the presence of an injury and the possible causes. Combine that with it being witnessed by a child, it is a lot lot more concrete.

There has been an accusation from what I have seen. Nobody here saw what happened and I am pretty sure there is no video tape ether, just an accusation. Anyone here ever know someone accused of something, rightly or wrongly, and you are shocked by it? Does that mean you are a bad judge of character? Maybe he did, maybe not, nobody here knows for sure. Talk about character, what about everyone here assuming something over an accusation.

Outside of some marijuana and bets being placed, what HORRIBLE thing like this has happened?

You’re not being dramatic at all here.

Chris Lammons was with the Bengals in Vegas when he and some other fine fellows beat a man unconscious (allegedly) because he tried to get on the elevator with them, reports say. Lammons admitted in court that he struck the victim. So what does Chris Ballard, who is always on the hunt for horseshoe guys, do? Brings him to Indy! The locker room knows, as CB says.

No I think you’re making a mountain out of the Grand Canyon.

Seems so. Why is that?

Direct reflection of a faltering society in my opinion. Biggest league in the U.S. with high stakes and competition. Guys are trying to get a leg up (using ped’s, gambling, etc) to make as much money as quickly as possible. Ease of gambling has not helped anything but casinos in this country. Return to violence throughout society, so the domestic violence/beating the hell out of others is another direct reflection of society’s attitude.

Covid made people crazy. Anyone that works with a small sample size of the public knows this. People. Are. Crazy.

People blaming Ballard for this is just another excuse to pile on the man. It is not like he is psychic when he drafts guys. He can't control one's actions. Every team is going to have a few rotten eggs on their team, that has been going since football was invented. Ogletree isn't even a good player, he has had 9 catches all year. Give it a break people.

We can all agree this is bad. However remember Josh McNary he was guilty in the public’s eye but it turned out to be false. Let’s let the details come out before we call him guilty. Innocent until PROVEN guilty

Yeah, it is bad if he did it and we cut him and move on. It doesn't make our organization as a whole look bad. A few guys screwing up, doesn't ruin any culture. Get rid of them and move on like I said. If you look at the players that have got in trouble this year for the Colts, they are jags as the term some in here like to use. This isn't like Taylor, Pittman, Downs, Nelson, Smith, Kelly, Buckner, Moore, Mustache getting in trouble.

What was once a promising Tight end group has really let us wanting and needing more. Mallory is still the shiny penny of the group and I’m happy we have him. Just thinking how much different AR would have used this group and certainly how much different it will be next year.

Mallory is a decent talent, I like Mo as well. We will be fine.

The fact she called police right away tells me to believe her. Says they found her in pain. It does say she tried to hit him first after she broke his phone. Reminds me of an aunt I had. Her and her husband were so toxic together. He was physically abusive but she always would egg him on. To this day they are actually friends and get along well. Just weren’t good together.

Mallory has been coming on as of late. It’s too bad Granson & Mallory are the same player because they run pretty solid routes & can catch.

We’ll definitely need to upgrade this offseason. Woods has been a major disappointment this year after such a promising rookie year

I am not taken sides; he may be guilty as hell. Blaming Ballard for drafting 1 player that has done this is where I have a problem, and some are doing it. You never know what anyone is going to do. I remember reading on the news years ago, that one of my best friends I hung out with in high school, shot and killed someone while robbing a gas station. When we were friends, he was the nicest guy you would ever meet. I can read people pretty good and when I read that, it blew me away!

This isn’t a civil lawsuit.

This is a criminal case in which he was arrested on. This means law enforcement had probable cause. Much more than an accusation.

Sure innocent I’m too proven guilty but there was evidence of a crime, not just an accusation.

Innocent until proven guilty is a law standard that doesn’t apply to public opinion or football teams.  Often times probable cause is enough to find you guilty in both of those.

Yeah, that is not really a good answer. There is not a one size fits all response to these situations.

The look on the people's faces at ESPN, especially some of the women at ESPN who were just shredding Matt Araiza, then when he was found not guilty was freakin' priceless. Same for the Duke Lacrosse players being found not guilty.

And the vast majority of these guys were shown the door as soon as they acted up.  Seems to me that’s what you do if you are serious about wanting high character guys but keep making your mountain out of a molehill.

As pointed out by other Lammons mistake came before he was a Colt and Berry was last year and not brought back this year.  So you are talking about six.  I forgot Muhammad.  Of those six Rodgers was gone before the season even started and again was for something from last season.

Again when you have 70+ guys on your team at any given moment (that’s not counting roster churn guys) some are going to make mistakes.  It happens.  It doesn’t mean you aren’t a high character organization.  What matters is how you handle it when it does happen and with the exception of Grover the Colts have shown they have a very short leash for behavior issues.

Again, all I heard last year was you can’t build a winning team with all choir boys.  Well this is what comes with that and now some fans are upset that some guys are getting in trouble.  Fans can’t have it both ways.

Yeah I am not saying people in public opinion or football teams don’t get proven wrong because they don’t adhere to standard I am saying it doesn’t exist for them.  The reasons you stated are why it exists in a court of law.  However, that moves very slowly because it takes time to prove them most football teams don’t want a guy who maybe committed a crime hanging out on their football team for it to play out, can you imagine if the Pats stood behind Aaron Hernandez and said innocent until proven guilty after he was arrested for murder?

Yeah, it just sucks when someone accuses of someone for doing something bad and it isn't true at all. It ruins it for the women that really have been abused. Another example, Brian Banks Barack Obama Mic Drop GIF

I will add the PED stuff is pretty much a nothing burger too. It happens when guys are not careful or miss read ingredients. Rodger’s didn’t hurt anyone but himself. There are quite different then what Ogletree is being accused of.

I don’t recall all the “choir boy” comments. I think I said this somewhere else… Lammons and his boys beat the crap out of some guy (errr, allegedly) who just wanted on the elevator. AFTER he did this, Ballard decided he’d be a good fit for Indy. My opinion is I don’t want my favorite team to acquire a man who gives a beat down to another man — a man who was outnumbered and weaker than an NFL player. It makes me sick. The hypocrisy of CB, who constantly preaches culture and character, is glaring. If you and others are ok with Indy bringing such a guy onto your favorite team, cool.

Also, it’s absurd that you call what Lammons did a “mistake.” A mistake is adding numbers wrong or dropping your glasses. Engaging in a beat down of an outnumbered man is violent, bullying behavior. I wonder, if you have a son and a group of bullies beat him, would you call that a “mistake?”

I never said what Lammons did was a mistake. I never brought his name up. All I said was he wasn’t a colt when that happened.

You think most PED violations are a result of players misreading ingredients? Seriously? Hey, off topic, would you be interested in some cheap Ocean property in Nebraska?

From a team perspective as far as talent Ogletree was promising and showed glimpses but hadnt done a lot with it. Only played 356 snaps (Granson-420, MAC-365,mallory-148) his snaps likely go to Mallory who has seen a big upticks last 4 weeks and has been very well. A lot of squads carry 3 TE so this will bring us back down to 3 and we likely see a plyer from another position elevated as opposed to our PS Tight End Jordan Murray (Could even be Juwann Winfree as we need WR depth and he has already used his max p.s. elevation.

Next season hoping Woods rebounds but we just dont know. Granson will see his same role, Mallory likely becomes TE 1 (As was stated him and Granson are kinda similar as neither is a physical blocking TE,Mallory has better height and catching radius) and a vet is probably added (Adam Trautman type)  if MAC is send packing.

I doubt players are sitting there shooting up with needles. Yes this is very common with supplements you can get at GNC. They didn’t hurt anyone except their own pocketbook.

    • Just thought about it this morning as I was reevaluating things.     Maybe he could be a big 3rd or 4th RB, with the ability to line up and lead block?
    • I really do think we will be bringing in Diggs. Diggs has just kept himself inserted in Colts news.     Probably not Simmons though.     Definitely think we will bring in a vet RB, sometime from now to beginning of camp.     With how the draft played out I see a vet CB as well to battle for that 4th outside spot.
    • A. Rich. has a lot to work with this year.  Ballard did a real stomp down job!
    • I haven’t been on the board in awhile but same thoughts here. I didn’t think he’d get out of the top ten.
    • A+   Laiatu Latu - The kinda guy I've been clamouring for for a long time now and specifically the guy I hoped we'd get this draft. I'm SUPER excited about this pick. If Latu turns into our Hendrickson/Crossby/Bosa the rest of the players in this draft can bust and it would still be A+ in my opinion. Technician without equal and still athletic. There's just so much to love about this guy. Steal #1.   Adonai Mitchell - Steal #2. Ballard stood tall on the hill defending this guy and reportedly Steichen and Wayne have been pounding the table for this guy for some time... and they got him AFTER a trade back? Bruh! Steal! Super athletic and has beat up on some of the top CBs in this draft.   Matt Goncalves - We've needed to upgrade our OL depth and Goncalves can play all over the line. Solid pick!   Tanor Bortolini - Quite possibly our future OC. Super athletic - broke Jason Kelce's 3-cone record at the combine. Love this pick!   Anthony Gould - This could potentially turn out to be a genius move by Ballard & Co. The new return rules means having a good returner is extra important and Gould is likely one of the best in the draft! We also needed a good backup behind Downs since McKenzie left.   Jaylon Carlies - After last season I felt like we needed to upgrade our coverage ability at the LB position. This is a move to do just that. Love it!   Jaylin Simpson - We needed to at least add competition at the FS spot. With us picking Simpson and last years 5th rounder Daniel Scott returning (who Ballard seems really excited about), we seem to be set with young talent there. Maybe we add a vet? Like this pick.   Micah Abraham - Don't know much about him, but he has the pedigree. Doesn't fit Ballard's typical athletic profile, so they must have seen something on tape they REALLY like.   Jonah Laulu - The Colts brought him in for a top 30 visit and he fits their athletic profile. Project. Solid pick in the 7th.
