NFL Preview Titans at Colts plus injury reports

Absolutely SHOULD get after Tannehill in this game. No excuses not to with their porous OL. Need our outside corners and safeties to also come up big to shut down Hopkins and their average WRs at best. Also really hoping Kelly and Raimann are back as the Titans DL is legit.

Steichen said he wasn’t injured it was just the rotation when asked.  He was asked point blank.

weird... and Bradley said Leonard saw limited snaps due to the Rams offensive scheme

Maybe he pulled his groin today? during the walkthrough?

I still don’t understand why they didn’t go after a lame Stafford more.  I know they were probably afraid of the depleted secondary giving up big plays.  But they did that anyway.

They tried the blitzes were getting picked up.  Credit where credit is due the Rams protection really stepped up late in that game.

First time in a long time, they are healthier than us.

I saw this AM they are getting two starting OL back this week when we remain injured on the DL.  Not good.

Means we have to come out scoring

Yes. Into the 3rd qtr last week, the game was looking a lot like we did under Frank Reich. Slow starts... Where we defer the coin toss, then the other team marches down the field methodically for a td. Then we get the ball, our drive stalls, and we punt ( or we turn it over?)... Repeat.

Next thing you know we are down 21 - O

AR 5 was great leading us back, but certainly can not be expected to do this week in, week out.

Last year’s game, JT carried 20 times for 40 yards. Titan’s are a better team at this point. I look forward to AR throwing and him running up to 40 times this game with Granson, Ogletree having big games. Huge game because it’s the next one, Home field (8) losses in a row and Titan’s have beaten us 5 straight. Game will be decided in the trenches and the turnover battle. Everyone understands what we have to do to win, start fast and get the Advantage and play 4 great quarters of football! I’m so over the Titans!

I hope we get Ogletree involved early with some deep plays to open up the defense.

Defiantly need to blitz more. Tannehill won’t handle blitz’s well.

I still don't understand why people/teams want to do this. Tannehill has the pocket awareness and escape ability of a newborn.

Stacking the box and blitzing only leads to one things, explosive plays. Tannehill is more than willing to let you beat his face in to get a pass off and is top tier in throwing deep. In the run game the last thing you want is Henry getting past the first line of defenders with only one guy in the secondary to beat. You may give up more consistent yardage but force us to move the field don't let us do it in chunks, it's what we do best.

    • These aren’t the only two scenarios though.    What if Cousins gets hurt? What if Penix looks really promising and after 3 years they don’t have to hand Cousins another big contract?   I can see why the Falcons did it. Say Cousins balls out, the Falcons may not be in position to draft a good QB again for a while.    Not saying I think it’s the best move they could’ve made, but there are logical reasons for it.
    • You can talk highly of a player and not give him the 5th year.  They may like him in his current role, but I feel he is replaceable. If Paye went down with an injury for the whole year do you think his loss would impact the team? I really don't because of what he brings as an edge rusher, You can keep that 13 million and decide to resign him next year or go after someone else in free agency. To me, it is not a huge gamble in just letting it play out. I don't expect him to all of a sudden be that guy. I also feel that they covet Dayo more than Paye.
    • In that tweet thread , there was this.... 3) Tougher target competition will negatively impact a WR's YPRR. Adonai Mitchell was competing for targets against Xavier Worthy (R1) and Ja'Tavion Sanders (R4)!
    • ATL has a top 5 OL with Matthews (2014 R1), Bergeron (2023 R2), Dalman (2021 R4), Lindstrom (2019 R1) and McGary (2019 R1).   They have invested in the OL, they just haven't had to do it a whole lot because they have hit.   Sort of similar to the Colts OL. In fact, they might have an even better OL than the Colts, at least right now.   Then they have Pitts at TE1, London at WR1 and Bijan at RB1. Plus, they added Mooney and Rondale Moore to round out their WR depth. Assuming Pitts is finally healthy (more than a full year removed from the PCL/MCL surgery), ATL is stacked with weapons and on the OL. Add Cousins' passing to that and they have top 5 offense potential.   After the Penix pick, their next 5 picks were all front 7 players on defense too. The Penix pick might end up being a bust, but it likely won't matter for 3 years.
    • After watching the video and listening to the positive comments from our coaches and scouts, I'm pumped to win the division.   Latu/Crosby  Adoni/Lamb  Gonc/ i don't know,, but if he can get us a yard on 4th and 1, and pass block well,, it's to the moon baby.
