Biggest concern (IMHO) O line.  Not too sure about two of the starters and the depth is scary.  Should have kept Reed.

Some would say we have the worst WR group in the NFL, and it would be hard to argue with that.  Lots of potential, but that can be said about every team.

I can't see it breaking any other way with the injury to the TE, than Granson, woods, mo cox....

RB Taylor, Hines, Lindsay, plus one... Hines counts as .5 RB and .5 wr....

Wr..... Pit, Campbell, Pierce, Dulin, Patmon, Strachan.

That's ten primary pass catchers counting Hines, close to 45% of your entire offensive roster of 24/26

Also.... I know a lot of people are concerned a out a backup slot.... But Hines aside, who says your third WR has to be a small speed guy?  We have absolutely massive amounts of speed, so if any of them are agile enough... Those larger frames can play slot no?  ( I know the route tree is modified)

See I don't see the OL concerns other than health worries....but outside Kelly, out guys don't seem to get dinged more than average.

Pryor will have to prove himself all year of course, but Q, Kelly, Pinter, Smith is pretty solid as a starting five.... Pinter hasn't been amazing, but someone has to be the least of the good.....

Dennis Kelly is very solid depth all along the line, fries is developing as you'd expect, raimann will need some work but has everything you want in a cheap developing backup..... Van Demark has the most potential of the newcomers...but is the most raw....

Have to remember, OL are at such a premium, that there aren't even enough very good developed OL to fill each teams five starting positions in any given year.  Most colleges aren't turning out guys who are ready to play anymore....

I fully realize that Ballard has to pinch every penny to sign Q.  Reed would have been relatively cheap for a starting G.  But not as cheap as Danny.  I just hope Pinter continues to develop.

Moslty concerned about depth at the tackles.  We’re counting on Kelly as the swing man.  At least until Raimann gets up to speed.  But where is he?   When is he ready to play?   avail-ability, right?

Verdell and Jackson are gone.....Price will last another week and get onto PS

Our D Line is going to be very....interesting...liking what I see from many players

CB 5-6 still not looking solid. Brown may have an inside track but think we will go fishing after 53 deadline.....

Ability to help in returns may get someone a spot, Rodgers wont be a return man this year as too valuable and injury % too high...Coutee was looking good there now maybe Flowers or harris

I realize they won’t cut Granson, but he has done little in my opinion to make the team. He sure does drop a lot of balls.

Glow wasn't cheap (like a 1st contract player) and Reed was at best ok but went HOME to MINN. as was his wish. Woulda coulda shoulda bla bla bla.

We are maxed out with o-line salary.

I would agree as of TODAY, our G interest radar level at final cuts will be on.

Speaking of a 2nd year player that did plenty AS A ROOKIE to make the team and earned PT early.  Ryan throws mostly ropes in the short game so there will be drops. Brees was something else with timing and touch.

IMO, TEs, LBs, and RBs can be stashed on the PS.  I'd put  Jacobsen, Williams, Rhyne, Seltzner and Van Demark on the PS.

I'd keep Ehlinger, Weatherford, and Domann as the bubble guys.

And I'd look for another veteran S on the waiver wire.

Odenigbo > Benogu.  Yes.

COLTS 53-MAN ROSTER PROJECTION HEADING FINAL WEEK OF TRAINING CAMP   Kevin Bowen

https://www.1075thefan.com/kevins-sports-news/colts/colts-53-man-roster-projection-heading-final-week-of-training-camp/

and...

August 23: Roster cutdown from 85 to 80.

Bryan Cox was cut long ago,he must have missed it. Jackson isnt making this squad,Patmon cut ?  Only 5 Corners ?  8 O line only, not a chance.

Yeah….  He prefers Coutee and his more flanker like ability than Patmon who he sees more like Strachan.   Too many big bodies.

I like Kevin a lot, but sometimes I think he overthinks things.   This may be one of them.

Bowen’s final roster and frankly I think it’s pretty good and going to be pretty close to real thing.  Frankly I like it more than mine once I read his points.  Only thing I disagree with him on is I am not sure how you can keep Brown over Chesley but if we are talking about the fifth corner I am not going to get worked up over it.

    • Packers fans can tell me about Joe Barry that was their DC from 2021-23. They were always in the Top 12-15 range in terms of points per game as opposed to the Colts.   But the year 2021, the Colts were on par because we ran the ball well and possessed it well. Not so much in 2022, and 2023 was a bit of defensive regression for decent possession of the ball from Bradley’s unit.   Brandon Staley is another name but I’d prefer Jon Barry for his units to generate pressure. Otherwise we’d have to look at college like Packers getting the Boston College HC.   I’m a fan of Jim Leonhard that was a heck of a defensive coach / DC at Wisconsin, and is now a DB coach with Broncos. Dave Merritt, the Chiefs DB coach has done an outstanding job there and was interviewed for DC by 49ers.   My pick would be Jim Leonhard or Dave Merritt.
    • You can’t keep winning only scoring one TD A game. I think they have gotten some what lucky with who they have played. Colds dline beat up so we will see.
    • What I meant is they are not going to come out and just throw 50 times. They are going to try and break your will and run out the clock. It’s  probably going to be a low scoring game. They have only scored 3 offensive TD. I am shocked they str 3-0. They don’t have many offensive weapons. Harris is not really a pass catching back who will break a long run. Now could that change. Off course. But their Oline id beat up. I was reading an article how they tried to open things up and Fields immediately got sacked. He they try to open things up till he revert back to Bears fields.
    • I don’t know enough of the position coaches on other teams to say who is worthy of promotion. Best to keep an eye out on head coaches on the hot seat and their staffs.
    • Sadly also changing my Colts pick.. 😞   Steelers 21 vs Colts 17
