hopefully not, we need to keep this rain going to help our secondary

We will have to agree to disagree but 2 point lead doesn't help you much when their kicker is making it from 50+

You cant assume the scoring is done. If we score another TD, it is still a 1 score game now.

Do you realize how horrible we are on the goaline? Dont you think you ahould factor in that we are awful in those situations? Everytime we are down therez its a struggle.

You do it if you are actually good at it. And we arent.

But its not a 2 point lead.... later. Its a combo of 3s and 6s and 7s that always seems to work out to a point..... literally 1 point.... very often.  Im not upset about it, i just kinda now expect we’ll need that one later.  Hey, i hope i’m wrong... my ego can certainly handle it.  But lets see what happens.

It was the right move to try to go up 3.

Too early to chase points.  You kick the xtra point there. You can go for 2 later if necessary. Especially given the Niners already missed one of theirs earlier.  Now we are in the same boat. Given these conditions...points are at a premium.

You can't assume more points will be scored, you use hindsight way too much.

This already screwed us against the Ravens. We went for 2 to make it a 21 point lead. There was a lot of football left. If we had just took the XP, they need a whole other possession to win the game. We never go to OT and win the game despite our 2nd half collapse.

You go for it when you need to. Late in the game. Until then you collect as many points as you can.

Poor comparison the reason we went for two in that game was because our kicker was hurt in that game, and way to not mention the missed kicks and the blocked kick because it doesn't fit your narrative.

    • A lot do people had a lot of faith in Matt Ryan and bought into the “like Manning” training camp quotes we were getting.   this season is entirely open. We could go 0-17 very easily, we could also go 12-5 and make the playoffs just as easily. Gonna be a wild ride
    • If you are building a team based on upside, the Colts crushed the draft. However, the building of a team is based on acquiring football players not great athletes. Talk to me in 2 years. I have listened to GM's who are out of the league and they bring up old drafts and how Kiper and all these draft guys grade a draft A+ right after  a draft.  The GM then talks about that same draft 2 years later and how literally none of those players are with that same team. To me, you grade a draft only on if a team filled their needs and nothing more. The Colts did fine in that respect.
    • I will say that last year the media and fans expected a decent Matt Ryan to help with the offensive game. Our o-line plus poor play from Ryan really hurt. We have not addressed the o-line so it’s hard to say that it’s improved just yet. Also having a young QB could still create play similar to Ryan. Killing drives and having INT’s because he is learning. The D hopefully stays solid. With this I will always hope for a playoff team but I could still see maybe 6-8 wins.
    • Personally I think the biggest unknown is QB play.  We thought with Ryan, who has a history of being a pretty good NFL QB, might have a couple of good years left.  That turned out to be wrong.   If we start Richardson there are going to be growing pains.  He has a lot to learn.  And if we start Minshew, well, we will get Minshew. He hasn't shown me he has what it takes to lead this team to the playoffs.   So with so much of a team's success depending on high level QB play I am not expecting a playoff appearance.  But I would be thrilled if it happened.
    • Sure, all true.  But my theme was that a lot of us here (and especially the national media) had expectations of winning the division last season.  We all know the reasons it went south.  We all could have said similar things that you pointed out - Oline uncertainty, QB arm/age, etc., but most were confident.     Oline improved, QB room improved, play calling possibilities, etc..  Yet people now think 6 wins would be a successful season.     We were so optimistic last year, why are the expectations so low this season?  It’s mostly the same  team, with improvements.
