Colts Injury Reports/Updates vs 49ers

I feel pretty good about our guard spots with Nelson, Smith, and Slauson.  Also feel good about Kelly at center, but no depth.  Outside of Castonzo at tackle, the cupboard is bare at that position.  Feel real good about the quality and depth of our TE’s.  RB’s and WR’s should hold up as long as the interior continues to develop and Castonzo plays like he did last year.  Our only hope at RT right now is moving Smith out there until we can spend an early draft pick next year on an OT or two.  With the legendary depth on the DL in next year’s draft, maybe one will slide into the 2nd round and we can spend our number one on a stud OT and still get an upgrade on DL in the 2nd.  Maybe we spend our 1 and one of our 2’s on 2 offensive tackles like we did with the guard position last year in Nelson and Smith.  I wouldn’t complain, but I’m not that impressed with the quality of next years offensive tackles available in the draft.

Meaningless to us fans, sure. To the coaches and players trying to make the team, not so much.

Nah. Definitely meaningless. Should be 2 games. And only the rookies, 2nd year players, and the other bodies from the 90 man should play

Starters/Stars shouldn’t touch the field

I have to wait until the replay on nfl network to watch the game.  Was geathers that good?

Both him and Hooker looked great. Excited to see that duo week 1

Starters/stars don’t have to touch the field as it is now. Yet they do, I wonder if that’s because they need it? I think Luck needed all the playing time he got this preseason.

I get what your saying but if it was as meaningless as you say, it would be changed by now.

Won’t change cause it’s money. Money talks in the league. That “we care about player safety” jive they spitting isn’t true at all. They care about money. That’s why TNF is still a thing.

If they cared about saftey, you wouldn’t play a Regular Season game on a Sunday then turn right around Thursday and play again

Thats how I explain my knee. Pain minimal but feels loose. Hopefully its like mine and can do stuff

Same. Torn an ACL, PCL, Menicus and a patellar tendon. All in my right knee, all after I turned 21 all them years ago. Two weeks ago, I got diagnosed with patella femoral syndrome in that knee and my knee cap is wearing as it grinds around as I walk. But before I finally went to see the specialist, that's how mine was. No to little pain, just loose and a lot of swelling.

go get it checked out and don't wait. I've got to have another surgery because i let it be loose and rub the knee cap for so long

The glaring needs right now are as follows: 1. RT   2. Pass rushing DE  3. #2 WR  4. CB   5. Backup LT  6. MLB  7. RB

The DL position is pretty deep on this team, at least at this point in the season.  I doubt a worthy OT comes free at cut time. Look for a WR or CB to be added off the waiver wire before the first game. This is a rebuilding team. Lots of promise; clearly not playoff ready yet.

Good just might get cut. He is always injured. He literally just got back and is already injured again .

yea, and it's a knee.  don't count on good news coming out of Colts injury headquarters.  we're going to see how deep we are real quick.  its the colts, we drop like flies when it comes to injuries.  probably should have snagged a major FA o-linemen just because we knew that our existing o-linemen would have to shift to other places just to make up for injured o-linemen next to them or on the other side of the ball.  it really is a broken record at this point.  and on D, if simon is out for the year, i will have no words.

Yea I think we have already seen our depth at RT & LT and it’s not good. I am assuming Castonzo comes back for week 1 but we still need to find a starting RT. Webb didn’t do bad tonight, but I’m not sure he is the long term answer and neither is Haeg. Clark and Howard probably don’t deserve to make the 53 man roster. So Smith or Webb it is?

Its unfortunate about Simon and hopefully it’s not major because he is needed on this D in a bad way.

He said there is no pain.   Pain is certainly a symptom of an ACL injury

The ACL itself doesn’t have any pain receptors. The pain usually comes from another structure that was strained or damaged, because normally the ACL isn’t torn in isolation. So ACL is very much on the table, unfortunately. PCL is also a possibility

Not that I was college material, but I’m glad I never played past HS.  I still run and my knees are fine.

I feel for you bro.   Maybe swimming is your answer.

Anyway, we definitely can appreciate what these guys go through.

I have never heard of anyone injuring a ligament and have zero pain associated.   For it to be injured the knee had to twist or hyper extended.   Their is usually pain involved

Right. I’m not saying it’s common at all, but neither is suddenly feeling unstable in your knee without any pain whatsoever. The feeling of instability in the knee is usually associated with ligament damage after an injury
