It is called a stiff arm. Been around football since the beginning of time. Players have bigger face masks now compared to years ago, so it looks worse. But it isn't illegal nor should it be. As long is the fingers do not grab the mask? All good. -
I disagree with this criticism. And in general, I disagree with most of the anti-Ballard commentary. But ultimately, I don't think he's the right person to make the Colts a real contender, and I think there's something really wrong with the fabric of the organization right now, so everyone needs to go.

I agree. I would have really been miffed if that Jones kid would have gotten a penalty for.tackling out of bounds. His head was so far back there was no way he could have known where the sideline was. Pushing the head back like that is very dangerous. They call it on linemen on both sides of the ball. Why not runners?? -
I don't know, I think it should be someone with close ties to Indianapolis, and I'm not a local so I feel like an imposter trying to come up with a real answer. But the obvious answer is Peyton Manning. This will never happen, for two primary reasons: 1) Irsay probably is not going to make this kind of organizational adjustment; and 2) Peyton Manning will never again put himself in a position where he can be fired by Jim Irsay (or anyone else, probably). But if you want someone with deep ties to the area, who commands respect, has been successful with business ventures, who can fundraise and stimulate enthusiasm related to the Colts, and who understands the dynamics of the game and the league, I think he's the first phone call. After that, I'm putting together an advisory board, with Manning, Polian, etc., who can give me a list of qualified candidates. Other than that, I'm looking for VP types who have ties to or the endorsement of the Rooneys, Maras, and other NFL founding families.
