Sure he is...but firing Pagano at this point wouldn't make any difference. Just my 2 cents again...

I agree.  The season is now lost. Might as well just keep him until the final game.  If the season had a chance to be saved, it was 4 games ago.

This QB is getting destroyed in the backfield. Most sacked man in the NFL in the last two years at this pace.

Yet so called fans say the guy is bad. Get a damn clue.

He’s a backup for a reason.  Half of the sacks are on him for holding the ball too long.

Only for fans appeasement purposes, no other.  Chuck will still get head coach pay for this and 2 more years...  We can't change scheme this year.  Position coaches are still the ones teaching player groups each week in practice.  Ther might a very short lived emotional shift, and that is about all.... for this season.

Next year, with new drafts picks, F.A.'s, and potential coach changes could signal major changes. But this seaosn is lost.  Just want players to try and get better, so they can contribute next year as more polished vets.

It would show the fans you give a crap.  Pagano might be begging to be fired after this game anyway.

5 teams have used the same method to win.  It works, and when we have a lead in to 3rd Qtr., we know its coming, yet we can't stop them.  So we blame the O because the D is tired, even though the Tennessee D was on the field this game longer.  But it gives comfort to some to think this way, so...

We have the same weakness to exploit in crunch time. Easy pickens to game plan for.

Just like more than 60% of Luck's were. It's the play calling. Routes too long to develop. Bring some thought to your posts.

Maybe Pagano will get the door finally.

We have five more games to stomach first and then hopefully Black Friday will be a day of rejoicing for most sane Colts fans nationwide.

Sheesh Retrospect, you just don’t give up.  Yeah all 8 sacks were on the OL and play calling.  Yeah your 100% right Retro.

He's a backup - certainly not a player you build a team around.  If you're uncertain about Luck, you have to draft a QB.  Even if Luck is back, you still probably draft a QB at some point and develop him.  You're not going anywhere with Brissett as a starter.

Recievers can't get loose. Bad play calling. No o line. Your using him as a scapegoat.

Did you read my previous comment on saying how bad the team is? haha

Definitely not using him as a scapegoat, fact of the matter is he’s not good.  Neither is the team.  I don’t really think it’s rocket science is it?  Maybe it is??  Can you sense my sarcasm.

I like Chuck , but he should have been let go a couple years ago. It's not working , hasn't been for awhile.  He is a poor X and O guy . He was supposedly a defensive specialist,  and that has gotten worse , not better . His redeemable value is the players play hard for him. We need a lot better than that.

seems to be the story of the season, ahead in games only to end up with nothing. Very disappointing and could have been so different if we had held in in some of the games.

Agreed...new HC won't arrive, and we could only promote an asst. coach who likely will be fired next year...

There is a little truth to both sides.

Some of these sacks are actually on Brissett. He needs to learn to find the hot route or throw the ball away against the blitz.

Agreed. Players might play hard for him but he can't seem to get them to play smart for him.

Bill wouldn't have these coaches.

Didn't say that.  Roster and coaches are not the same.  He wouldn't be shy about cutting players and firing coaches.

If those plays are called. Routes too deep with a tenth of a second protection

Brissett looks like a limited QB the more I see him.  I doubt he's going to learn to read the defense well enough and I think the game is too fast for him to process.  He looks like 19 year old Jalen Hurts, overmatched by a good or even fair defensive scheme.

    • I think that's an oversimplified way of looking at it.   Per PFF Roquan Smith is one of the top tacklers this season and he has 7 missed tackles for the season while the player with most missed tackles on the Ravens roster is Kyle Hamilton with 13, then Ar'Darius Washington with 9, then Brandon Stephens with 8 and then finally Smith.   Robert Spillaine of the Raiders is also a top tackler. He has 9 missed tackles for the season. The guys with most missed tackles on the Raiders is Jack Jones with 11 and then Spillaine tied with Nate Hobbs and Divine Deablo at 9.   Germaine Pratt of the Bengals has 15 missed tackles. Most missed tackles on the Bengals is Geno Stone with 16.   Bobby Wagner has 7 missed tackles. Wagner only has the 9th most missed tackles on the Commanders roster.   Those are just a few examples. At some point talent is a thing too.
    • Our opponent was weak.  For the $$$ Ryan won't be missed.  On the season, Kelly has a +63.7 overall grade (per PFF), including a +70.3 pass blocking grade. He’s allowed a sack and 7 total QB pressures during 222 total pass blocking snaps—having started 7 games so far for the Colts during the 2024 season. In Kelly’s absence, rookie interior lineman Tanor Bortolini has largely held his own out there, with a PFF grade of +65.1 overall in 5 career starts—while 4th-year pro Danny Pinter made a strong spot start during this past Sunday’s victory, recording a +82.9 overall grade.
    • And get burnt deep.  Did you watch what happened when we blitzed Sunday?   Silly indeed
    • I appreciate the logic. But I have these visuals mounted in my head like sugar plums of Speed missing all these tackles on run plays within 5 yards of the Los.
    • There's something to be said for coaching and stressing fundamentals though. This was not such a big issue under Eberflus (IIRC), but it has been since Bradley got here.
