I’d still say Hooker but Hairston is a close 2nd in my book. I like him a lot. Plays with a mean streak. Gotta have players with that edge if you’re gonna be a great defense. Don’t confuse that “edge” & “mean streak” to mean what Green, Bostic, or Morrison does...  They actually hurt more of our own players with their tactics than our opponents.  They go over the edge...

I like him too but best rookie draftee I think Hooker was looking pretty good before his injury.

Hooker is the best but Hairston is the most pleasant surprise.

From what this says, he didnt allow a touchdown last year. That was also his first full year at cornerback so I'm wondering if he has ever had a touchdown scored on him in game.

So far it's got to be Hairston. Hooker was good...for a rookie. Hairston has been good period.

Been surprised about Hairston. I'm actually quite happy that he's been healthy, that's always a huge plus. I really do like Desir, though. He gave up a TD against the Steelers but he gave decent coverage, maybe a half a step short if anything.

Thought it was an A+ pick on draft day because of the 5th round slotting.  The knock on him was that he was new to the CB position late in college, but he displayed the skills..

I love Hairston and think he will be a great player for us, but not to burst the bubble.... How do they not put the TD in the Steelers game where the TE was wide open on Hairston.  He was the guy that should have covered him and was the closet to him.  Not trying to be a downer but I am curious who that went against then.

I honestly didn’t expect much from him. Thought he was a ST’s guy who would take some time at CB. Ballard found a late round gem in his 1st draft. Pretty impressive.

He has made some fantastic plays in the red zone to keep that streak alive . Really becoming a fan not only is he sticky in coverage but has great timing on the blitz and a good tackler in the run game .

    This secondary can be really good next year. Hairston, Desir and Melvin have developed into solid starters.

     If Hooker and Geathers can stay healthy, the secondary should be above average and have good depth with Wilson, Moore, Milton and Fairley. Unless Green makes a giant leap, he’ll probably be replaced.

     Now, if we can only get difference makers at ILB and Pass rush...
