The 2015 RB class is OVERRATED

Recommended Posts

Everybody and their mother is freaking out about this class. Other than a few select late rounders Johnson Cobb and Crockett I dont see the big deal.

The one that's a huge joke is Ajayi! He cant pass block and has fumbling problems last I checked!

Hope Colts go heavy on OL help before drafting a RB early or picking up a FA!

i think it looks like a pretty deep class across the board ... although I am kind of with you on Ajayi, screams nothing but a change of pace back to me.

This O Line class is worse the the rb class, I think the rb class is better, Some of these O Linemen that will go in the first would go in the 2nd or 3rd round in a couple recent drafts for O Linemen (2013)

There isn't even a legit LT in this draft class with the possible exception of TJ Clemmings and even then I like him better at LG or RG because of his mobility

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

1.   I don't think this is a very good draft overall.

But....

2.   I think the two most talented position groups are.....    wide receiver and running back.

Gurley, Gordon, Coleman,  Abdullah,  Johnson,  Ajayi,  Yeldon,  Allen,  Cobb, and several others that I think I'm missing...   that's a lot of talented RB's for one year.

Every player has issues coming out of college. Fumbling issues are resolveable with a switch up in mechanics, altering how you hold the ball etc. There aren't many RBs that come out of college as good pass blockers. But again its teachable.

We aren't looking for finished products in the draft. I want someone who has the right physical attributes and the right attitude to succeed, and then teach them the tools they need to be great. Pass blocking and fumbling issues are at the top of that list.

Ajayi isn't garbage but is greatly overrated here. Doesn't run with a lot of power and bounces it to the outside to much, relying more on his speed and agility rather than seeing and feeling.

Gordon reminds me of Chris Johnson. He isn't an every down, between the tackles runner. He's a guy who will go for the home run every play, and when he doesn't get it you shouldn't expect decent yards.

Coleman reminds me of Demarco Murray. Up-right runner who I think will be as good as the OL he has. If the line is elite, he'll be an elite RB. If it's a decent line, he'll be a decent back good for 800 yards a season.

The special RB's I have seen are Abdullah, Cobb, and Gurley. I also think Johnson and Langford can be solid RB's. But overall, I do think the class is somewhat overrated.

Let's say Gurley is available when we pick at 29. Should we pull the trigger?  I like Gurley a whole lot

Hard to say.

The thing with RB's is that they usually have a short life-span anyways. A knee injury can scrape a few years off of that already short life span. Plus you never know if they'll come back the same player. That's my concerns with Gurley. What will he be when he comes back? How long will he last? What if he blows his knee out again, does he become Ahmad Bradshaw (can't stay healthy a full season)?

Can't say I'd take him at 29. But in the 2nd or 3rd round? Possibly

Ajayi? I actually think he's pretty good. He's got an elite receiving skill set and is he's got good toughness and durability. If you were gonna call out 1 guy from this class I'm kind of surprised it's him.

You don't think Andrus Peat is a legit LT? I'm not saying I'm 100% sold on him, I haven't seen him enough to say one way or another, but some seem to think he's impressive.

    • Regarding the other Game 7, I think Denver shows Minnesota who the Champ is, I like Denver in that one. Good luck @Yoshinator.
    • me after Game 6! Yeah I have never seen such bias from the media in my life regarding any 1 series. At halftime, espn was playing GO NY GO NY, GO chants. It just isn't them, every single host on CBS radio are pulling for NY. What the hell did the Pacers do to deserve this kind of hate? I am puzzled. We aren't a dirty team, play beautiful basketball on offense. Usually people root for the underdog. Knicks are still favored to win the series. They are a 2 point favorite in Game 7. I hope we win big, as a fan, the media and NY fans made it personal with me after Game 5. I have sent our FO an e-mail saying make it personal, block out their crowd, block out the media, and bring it home.
    • Yep, I’ve noticed the bias and it is sickening!  GO PACERS! I love how this is all playing out. Wish Reggie was able to suit up for Game 7!!! R-E-G… G-I-E…. RE-GGIE RE-GGIE… SHOOT THE 3!!
    • It's apparent that the NFL is becoming what the NBA has already become.  It's not that far down the road that most all major sports games will be pay per view.
    • I don’t want to pay for the TV package monthly…nor will I pay their ridiculous prices. I used to get the Student NFL ticket from DirecTV and it was only $100 for the whole season and I could watch wherever on my mobile devices….that was a great deal and I did it for many years in a row.   I can confirm that last year I did pay for NFL+ and I just watched the games sometimes after it was over…and with that subscription you can watch local live broadcasts…so I would use BitDefender VPN and I’d login to a server location that made it appear I was in a particular city within the broadcast map. However, BitDefender doesn’t have a location for Indiana so often times I’d set the location to the away teams location when possible.   I just need to find a VPN service that has locations in Indiana so that I can use the NFL+ again this year. If anyone knows of one offering servers in Indiana please do let me know….much more fun to watch live and interact on the forum during the game than to have to wait until it’s all over to rewatch it.
