Note: I decided to release Lance Louis, Pat Angerer, Lawrence Sidbury, and Josh Gordy.  I think Gordy might be back but for right now's he's gone.  This way the roster is at 53.  This is a very early look, so it's not exact.

We can't come back next year with the same entire d-line and Toler as starters if we want to have a top 10 defense. Chapman even though he hasn't showed much is still young and can improve so i wouldn't mind if he starts, but he does need competition. RJF, Redding, and Toler has to be replaced. Redding could be good on 3rd downs but his days of starting should be over. RJF and Toler were backups before we signed them and should be going into this year. I also don't think will resign Bethea, Brown, or Vaughn.

FA

Sign: Brian De la Puente C, Arthur Jones DE, Corey Graham CB

Draft

2. Yawin Smallwood, ILB, Connecticut

3. E.J Gaines, CB, Missouri

5. Beau Allen, NT, Wisconsin

6. Kenneth Acker, FS, SMU

7. Ben Malena, RB, Texas A&M

I think we are going to see a lot of these threads where someone will eventually plug Byrd as an option at Safety, and although I would love to have him, I don't think generally speaking I would like our biggest FA splash being at the safety position when the O-line and LB'er core are the areas in biggest need of upgrade.......Maybe Werner bulks up and fills the other outside hole this upcoming season, but Mathis is no spring chicken, we should still be looking to the future....and Angerer, I really rallied for him, but injuries.....it just "aint-a-gonna work" ....so another ILB......The O.P. in this thread I disagree with Zombo out of position he is marginal at best at his standard spot, Adongo a gonner after you ride him through the learn what football is phase, why dump him when you are about to find out if you were right about his ability.....Having said all of that, its early and we may see someone we didn't anticipate available for whatever reason, or a trade open up that we cannot yet forsee....so this is as good as any.

I feel like we're going to sign Jairus Byrd or Hakeem Nicks. I don't see Jim Irsay allowing Grigson to sign these no-name undrafted free agents with the money we have available. Look forward to a big signing this offseason.

You may feel that way about "no-name" free agents we signed, as a fan, but thank goodness we don't have an owner that is in the middle of personnel the way you are suggesting.

I'm not talking about Jim taking control over roster moves. I see it more as a "Hey Ryan, try and sign someone big this offseason. I understand you hit the jackpot with Jerrell Freeman, but let's not put our focus on undrafted free agents." I see it as more of a hallway discussion.

Oh, I see.  Well, I hope that doesn't work either.
