In a way..... yes

But the lineup could easily be when we go 3 wide. DHB (if his eyes work now) & Rogers outside while Ty Hilton lines up in the slot

Or insert Lavon Brazill where I put Da'Rick Rogers or DHB depending on what the coaches think. And whether or not DHB eyes are ready

I suppose they could just use 2 receivers and move Fleener to slot also.

:spit:

And you called my statement ridiculous? Cassius Vaughn (checks forehead to make sure he's not sick for actually using Cassius Vaughn's name in a positive sentence) , Lavon Brazill, & Josh Gordy do a better job at returning kicks than David Reed does

So you believe they are willingly putting a man back to be KR even though they know at least 3 players are better KRs? Yes, that's ridiculous and would be extremely poor management.

I agree Reed is awful but for some unknown reason our coach/GM like him and continue to stick with him.

It's something. Need to give David Reed the "Stevan Ridley" treatment. When he fumbled that kick-off vs the Titans, Chuck Pagano should've pulled him like Bill does Ridley

I'm not wild about this.

Da'Rick is highly unlikely to pan out this year and maybe ever.

Cunningham's activation isn't needed unless the strategy is to continue to let Trent get 3 yards a carry with 20 touches instead of 2.5 with 10 touches. They could have waited for an injury and kept a contributing WR. Is DHB catching a 3rd and 6 pass? I've seen it twice this year. Whalen did that in 2 games.

A weird, not needed move.

I'm pretty annoyed about this.

I like Griff Whalen and I don't understand why we're hanging on to Reed. They've obviously grown tired of letting him run the ball out to the 6 because his return duties have been dwindling the past couple of weeks. I just don't really understand why he's here.

Whalen has played a lot more snaps than Reed on the offence since Reggie's injury, right?

if deAndre Hopkins, Cordelle ( however you spell it) Patterson, and Keenan Allen can be effective..then why can't da'rick?...remember the ONLY reason he wasn't drafted was cause of his off the field issues..not his talent...

2nd time this year they waived Whalen over Reed.   I couldn't figure it out the last time they did it, and after the last few weeks of watching Reed botch his one and only job over and over again, i really can't figure it out now.

To me that was just poor communications. The returner has his eye on the football in the air and there is supposed to be someone back telling him to come out or kneel. that is not entirely on the returner unless he decided on his own to come out. Not saying I'm a big fan of Reed but a lot of criticism directed toward him is misdirected.

I don't understand holding on to this Reed experiment either. Griff getting cut is a disappointment but it is worse knowing Reed stays over Griff but on to the game with what we have. Maybe if DHB gets a pair of thos glasses that Steve Martin developed in the movie "the jerk", we will be in great shape for the seasson :)

The Stanford vision is coming more & more a reality here in Indianapolis

3 TE sets, Power running formations, Offensive linemen being brought in the game for extra blocking

It's gonna be a wild ride people, grab your snacks & drinks

Hey, you just reminded me I have apple juice in the fridge!

But yeah, it kinda looks like the Colts have decided to (re)commit to that run game.

The Bills took a chance on him as a UDFA & he didn't stick with them...

gotta think there is something going on other than the off the field issues...

I keep telling you guys he's not going anywhere because he's from Baltimore with Pagano.

To get rid of David Reed, you gotta get rid of Chuck Pagano

Now, David Reed may be gone next season, but he's here for this season

I think your first line needs clarification. What are you trying to say - that Pagano is afraid to cut him for some reason? Or maybe that Pagano was there when Reed had his good seasons and therefore knows what he is capable of?

I think the 2nd line - that in order for the Colts to get rid of Reed you have to get rid of Pagano is outrageously funny and could not be more off base.

What are you crazy? Those glasses would make him go crosseyed then we'd be in even worse shape.

DHB is currently at 23% and Whalen at 18% both bottom 4 of players with 19+ targets.

I'd take the 5% better, although I'd take a lot of other receivers over either of them, either way, hopefully Da'rick turns into something

    • I'm not saying he is about to be a sack machine but you can see some of his potential as a one gap penetrator with that frame.
    • Davis came from Alabama. My point of interest as the writer highlighted is he is moving from being a 2 gapper into now only being responsible for a single gap with a lot more penetration from him versus read and react. With his length and power at 6ft 7 300 plus the expectation for him in our scheme is he will be more disruptive. A much more reliable option for us if Grover goes down in addition to whatever else maybe we can do with him.
    • Thank you. You guys are too kind, but I truly appreciate the support.    Perhaps I am being too hard on myself… But my point still stands that anyone who makes it to the NFL, whether practice squad or starter, has achieved something prestigious that only a rare few ever achieve.    Over a million high schoolers play. Of those only 7.8 percent move on to play in college.    Over 80,000 people play in college. Only 0.4 percent make it to opening day in the NFL.    Only 2,016 players make it to NFL rosters.
    • Davis had a very good rookie season after being drafted in the 2nd round out of Ohio State (I believe).   Graded in the 70’s against both the run and pass.      But his last three years have been disappointing, as he’s graded in the mid-50’s.   The reason I’m so interested in this signing, is (A) I’m sure it was heavily influenced by the new DL coach, Partridge.   And (B) we’re paying him 2/14.  I don’t recall that kind of money ever being given to a basic backup before.   Don’t think Davis is here to push Stewart, the Colts just signed him to 3/39.  That tells me the Colts defensive staff sees him differently.   I don’t know what the plan the staff has come up with for Davis, but I’m looking forward to watching it play out.
