I've given dhb so much upside and always been on his side but enough is enough.. Its obvious he has great talent but clearly he cant play WR in the NFL. Now saying that why cant we try him in different places? Devin Hester wasn't a good receiver but ended up being the best KR/PR ever. Lets put DHB at KR I mean... its better the Reed right?Why cant DHB be our Devin Hester his speed is absolutely RIDICULOUS.. Also with chuck being a defensive minded guy/ DB specialist what about corner. You know what they say coners are WRs who cant catch he has the tangibles to play it. Just a thought...... Sounds crazy but I just hate to see so much talent go to waste..

Its really ashame because this guy has some talent. He just doesn't apply it. If he would of had one bad game of not catching balls we could of forgiven him but this is a trend every week so it doesn't look like its going to improve anytime soon. We have absolutely no depth at WR and it shows. We need to sign someone off the street or give Da'Rick Rogers a try. David Reed needs to be cut to! Miss you so much Reggie!!!

now how would u feel kick DHB muffed the kickoff his hands are not to be trusted

with a kickoff you catch it more with your hands-to-chest than just with your hands tho. since DHB usually does this anyway he might make a good KR.  if he muffed a KR i would be just as mad as if he didn't catch a Very catchable pass on 3rd & 10

Let's be real here I was right with the people who wanted to personally cut Davis Reed yesterday, in fact I yelled at my TV once just send him to the lockerroom we'll play with 52!  Heck he would have probably still tried to return a kickoff from there but I digress...

 

He's not the only problem with our kick return game.  The blocking has been horrible.  Till we get that fixed you could have Usain Bolt back there his speed isn't going to mean much.

sunday had some terrible blocking every where and the funny part is the special teams was complimented for playing well all season and they go and lay an egg against the rams. rams had 4 people inside the fifteen before reed could get to the 5. run blocking and pass blocking was terrible to.

Even though another poster originally posted the idea of using him in a different position a while back "half jokingly" (cant remember who; maybe LOLO).  I made the comment then that I wouldn't mind seeing him in a hybrid RB role, like some weird version of Reggie Bush.  I still would not be opposed to trying something off the wall like that ... I think he might do decent he only has to catch short screen type passes, run the ball, and block ... he actually has the size, speed, and ability to do those things.  I don't see how it can hurt anyway.

So the argument is that he can't catch the ball. But people want to play him in a position where if you don't catch the ball it's a turnover instead of an incompletion?

Durrrrrr...

 

i think it wouldn't be that big of a deal, since unlike the punt return, the kick off coverage is usually still far away from the kick returner when the ball gets to him.. so even if he drops it, he would have enough time to recover it (most likely inside the end-zone) and get the start at 20..

 

heck, i wouldn't mind trying this.. reed is terrible at kick return and dhb is terrible at wr..
