So far AR hasn't looked that bad. Pretty crisp, that INT wasn't his fault (not being a Homer but it wasn't). The last drive was good than Gay missed a 28 yard FG, we paid top dollar for this kicker, if he costs us a game or 2 this year that will be unacceptable. 28 freakin yards!

I keep waiting for AR to break one off and have a long run. Jackson looks good early as well.

The wind is very tricky at that end of the stadium.  The announcers said they should have let the clock run out and kick it at the other end.  They said the kicker over compensated for the wind.  Bass made his at the easier end.

Good coverage and tackle by Jones.

Brents got cooked a couple times bailed out on the Shakir drop.

I figured Jones would look better earlier than Brents. He was a lockdown corner in college, but doesn't have the high end physical traits that Brent does.

Bass was kicking the same direction.

I want to see JT O'Sullivan break down what happened on the INT... it looked like either one or both receivers didn't execute their routes properly... or maybe it was on AR. + of course not sure AR's mechanics and decision were great on that throw.

BUT... with all that said... the offense moved the ball relatively well. AR looked poised, he didn't let the INT break his confidence or freak him out. He delivered some nice passes in the short to intermediate range, Good touch on some screens. Had one miss to Granson, but I want to see the throw from the back camera. He still throws some passes with a lot more juice than he needs to. On the other hand the pass to Pierce was... chef's kiss. Should have been caught.

Overall I like what AR showed... needs to refine some things... but overall a positive game IMO.

I actually think it was his fault.  Just my opinion.   Didn't set his feet and tried to flick it side arm.  But it's a good learning  experience.   He bounced right back.

Loved what he accomplished.

We have terrible depth. Ballard had to fix this. The Oline isn’t going to stay healthy all season. Then how do you evaluate the offense of the Oline is poor.

Our Oline depth is really young, so I'm not exactly surprised by the struggles. I'm thinking we really need to bolster the G postion.

I like what we saw out of AR today.  I feel that INT was his fault.  Got happy feet, didn’t set his feet which led to an off target ball.  CORRECT read however so I’ll give him that.

after that, he looked good.  Nice throws, nice reads, and if AP had hauled in that PERFECT deep ball he probably would have a touchdown.

I would like to see him use his legs more but that’s probably Shane’s doing as he wants to keep him fresh for the season and also not give away what we’re doing in the preseason.

ARs going to be fine.  Just give it time.  We got the right QB.  Happy I can finally say that after so many years.

Told my girlfriend to wait on buying tickets for the first game, since I was not sure if AR would be starting or not…Safe to say, I’m going to the opening game now lol

I thought AR would start all along. I think he will be good. That pass he had to Pierce was perfect, should have been a TD.

The Mustache is in now. AR did ok, nice that he got a few Reps. I was a little surprised that he didn't take off and run more.

I thought he played well. That pass that was intercepted looked really good.

I am watching Levis now. He is running well and getting out of trouble. Titans may just have fumbled. Lost of TOs in this game.

    • In my opinion (which is worth 2 cents): 1.  AR himself:  The one foot superman throws have to stop.  I think teams have studied the film and are hip to it now.  Last year, it seemed when AR would attempt them, it was against 1on1 situations, but this year it’s been a safety shadowing and there to pick off the overthrown ball.  AR has to not try to depend on his athleticism and stick to the mechanics.  Use the athleticism to create but use the mechanics to execute.  Also, he needs to get comfortable with the amount of touch he puts on his throws, but that will and hopefully should come with experience and coaching.   2.  Playcalling:  last year, the playcalling for the small sample size we got is vastly different than this years.  Last year, we leaned on zack moss and the run game and utilized ARs legs with designed runs, rollouts, etc.  this year, it seems we’ve gone straight Air Raid with running sprinkled in.  Shane says it’s because of the urgency to score quick to mitigate us losing the TOP battle by a wide margin.  I think we should worry about that until it’s time to in the game.  We shouldn’t be panicking in the 1st and 2nd qtrs when it’s a one score game.  I’ve said it in other threads, AR shouldn’t throw more than 25 times.  Maybe 30 tops depending on the game.  And also, would like to see AR out of the pocket more.  Keep the defense on its heels and guessing.     3.  Not having JD and productive TE group:  downs didn’t play the first 2 games and our TE room has been abysmal.  Last year, you had guys like ogletree and even cox making some plays.  This year, it seems all we have is the one flash per game from Granson.  Not to mention, MPJ is off to a BAD year.  AR doesn’t have any safety blankets.  He doesn’t have someone he can fall back on when things downfield aren’t there.  That should be MPJ but as I said above, MPJ has been bad.  We just got downs back so they should be back cooking once downs get his game wind back.    4.  Missing time due to injury:  I stated in the offseason that the colts needed to utilize every opportunity we had to get AR reps in the preseason.  We have the youngest and most inexperienced starting QB.  Not playing him in the preseason that much held him back.  Me personally, I would’ve let AR play every preseason game until he asked to come out due to soreness or whatever.     so as you can see, I think it’s more to it than just “AR sux”.
    • Maybe he's not much of a passing QB yet. But he's willing to get in there and do some dirty work for his teammates. That builds locker room camaraderie for sure.
    • .  I think we can win now with Flacco…maybe even have a shot at the big game if our defense improves. We can definitely win the division. Our offense is pretty stacked for Flacco….number one oline…..top 5 rb…..solid receivers. From what you’ve seen of Richardson do you honestly think he is a franchise qb with his accuracy problems?  I see where you are coming from though. Everyone wants AR to pan out….i get it…...I just don’t think he’s a franchise qb. Not even sure if he’s a legit starter in this league. I will hope for the best though and root for him as long as he wears the shoe.
    • Lot of things going on at that time.  HC, ST Coach AND the return man…someone, anyone pull your head out of the tunnel of sensory overload.    The kickoff was after a timeout as well.
    • The way I see it, Chiefs will be #1 seed. So everyone will have to go through their winter infested field.    1. Chiefs 2. Bills 3. Texans 4. Steelers 5. Jets 6. Ravens 7. Bengals
