The Trent Richardson trade belongs in the Hall of Shame. I had such high hopes at the time, only to be disappointed.

 

Someone mentioned Ben Banogu. He recently signed with the Cowboys. Maybe he'll do better with a different team.

That is who came to mind for worst draft pick, but Jeff George has to be up there being a #1 draft pick.

Or that offensive lineman that Grigson signed around 2014-2015. Can't recall his name -- Cherulus or something like that. (Was he a free agents or a trade?) Luck needed much better protection.

Andre Johnson caught half what Reggie did the year prior and Reggie missed 8 games. Andre was a non factor pretty much the entire season.

Jeff George is way up there as well. Andre Johnson was bad, big disappointment. Vanderjagt choked in the playoffs too much for my taste. It wasn't just the wild miss vs Pittsburgh in 2005, he also missed at Miami in the 2000 playoffs which would have given the Colts a win. Getting Adam Vinatieri was the best thing the Colts did going into the 2006 season.

But, the initial report suggested that he bet on hundred of games and some on Colts games as well, without any further details on whether he bet on or against the team.

Art definitely gambled a lot but they never mentioned colts games and a lot of it wasnt even nfl.  What he did was worse for the team due to being a starting qb but rogers bets were worse

But the Colts got back 3 picks for trading George to Atlanta in 94. While George's career in Indy was a disaster, at least they got something for him.

Allegedly.   The NFL hasn't released any info on the investigation.   Also,  if he bet on the colts to win, I have zero problem with it.

Yep. Only problem I will have is if he bet against us. That is devastating and a huge problem. His integrity gets thrown out the window at that point.

It depends on if Rodgers has an addiction to gambling or not? Art had a addiction that destroyed his life, put him in huge debt, etc.. If Rodgers is just gambling for fun, that is not an addiction or hurting him or anyone else. Question is, did he bet against us to lose, that is the 1 million dollar question. Than integrity and rigging of games comes into question. As of now we don't know if he did.

More than 100 bets during an nfl season is pretty excessive in my eyes.  I have strong feelings about gambling addictions because my grandfather had one and blew what would have been 6-7 figures in stock today.  He even bookied with Art sometimes, and i was close with his daughter until she moved out of state.  

 

The sheer number of bets plus the fact that he risked his career on this makes it look like addiction to me.

Could be but making 25-50 dollar bets seems like fun to me if I had Rodgers money. If Rodgers had a huge problem, IMO he would be betting like Art was as in betting 1000's of dollars on everything non-stop. I have been going to casino's for years 2 or 3 times a year around Indiana and take a thousand with me usually, if I lose it all then I quit and done until next 4 months rolls around. Someone addicted can't stop and would go back and back, that was Art (they have no limit on how much to lose and think they can always win big or get their money back - I had a friend like that). I have know idea how Rodgers is? As long as he didn't bet on us to lose, I have no problem with him.

When I do win, when I go. I usually quit before I give it all back. I have walked away from a casino 1000 ahead a few times and called it a night. 1000 is small to big timers but that is the most I will ever lose in one setting. The addiction comes when you lose around 1000 and you feel the need to keep going, thinking you can win it all back. Then you lose 2000 or 3000. I just play slot machines, Qtrs and 50 cent machines lol, last me all night and gets my mind off of things. I haven't been in over a year, I am due

Betting on games on line which is all legal today is the way to go. When I do that I will bet on games NFL or NBA a 100 or so and get my odds, you have your parlays too, etc.. I do that a lot during football season. I usually break pretty even, around 50/50.

Correction : Cook didn't leave Vikings, he was sent out.

Not sure if Kirk can be happy or not, he is usually smart except under pressure in the pocket or in a must-win situation. So, he must have got the message that he'll have to go through the same situation soon, but he'll have better takers.

It looks like rogers hasnt blown all his money on these bets but the number of bets is high enough to start talking addiction.  He was risking his career on this but for 25$ bets?  Doesnt make much sense for someone who could control it

 

Art was betting more money and tore up a young family over it but a lot of it wasnt on the nfl.  Id be surprised if the league lets Rogers play again if most of this is true.  Thats a lot of bets on the nfl which allegedly included the colts.

Yeah they seem a little lost in their direction currently. 

 

They have $35m dead cap this year. Front office has seemed to be doing questionable things for a while now. They got $45m(ish) in voided deals next year. They will be over $50 in dead cap next year by the time it's all said in done. 

 

My point was, Cook wasn't cut because of Cousins contract, regardless what the front office did with those void years. If Hunter is traded, it won't be because of Cousins contract either. Vikings are setting at right around $20m currently.

 

They clearly felt that Cook on a $15m cap hit wasn't what they wanted.  They feel the can get similar or little less production for 1/4 of the price.
