Will Colts Run the Table?

Why do that to yourselves? When we lose, we are needing a new coach, GM, and QB. When we win we are winning out, QB MVP talk, and coach of the year talk. 

 

How about taking each week....one game, and hope for the best? 

 

Here is to a winning season, and no more long term injuries. Enjoy each game...win or lose!

To answer the OP's question, no we won't run the table. We will split with Houston losing there IMO, we will also lose at New Orleans. We may even split with Jacksonville. 11-5 is now doable though.

You say tomato, I say tomahto. The Colts dominated the lines of scrimmage in the KC game yes, but the game no....it's not just about score, every team that has lost to the Colts thought they could/should win but I do think the Colts are about to dominate some teams soon, as in get a lead, continually beat the individuals in front of them as a group such that well before the end of the game the other team will know they are whipped.

Frank Reich is Bill O'Brien's daddy. Only reason Houston won last year was because of a fluke. Colts have won three in a row, and I don't see the streak stopping this year.

Denver has a very stingy defense. They are actually pretty good. It’s the offense turning it over causing issues. I expect our defense to get some turnovers.

 

Carolina with that run game will not be easy. There is actually a chance Cam plays this game. I would rather face cam then Allen.

 

Dont overlook the titans. Their defense is really good and Simmons played great in his first game. If Tannehill gives them any offense like yesterday  they will be a tough out.

 

Jags will also most likely get foles back by our game in a month.

The saints game is probably a loss.

We kept their O in check and we played a good game.  We still won by only 6.  We held Mahommes in check better than any team had done to him so far, sure... but still they were 1 score away from taking the lead from us.

Denver's D still has some very good players.  Flacco isn't really all that bad if you watch their games.  His OL is terrible and he has little talent around him, but he can still make tough throws.  This is definitely not a game to overlook, we will serve ourselves best if we can get ahead early and keep the pedal on the metal for a while, but with some of the stars they have on D, I don't want to see this game coming down to a 1 possession game.

Raiders aren't really that bad, IMO.... they play tough/physical (sometimes dirty while Burfict was around anyway), and they are well coached with a very good QB.  We didn't play our best against them (especially our start to the game), but I imagine the Raiders will be in the wildcard hunt near the end of the season.  They're one of only 7 teams in the AFC with a .500 or greater record right now, and they don't have an overwhelming schedule coming up any time soon.  I truly don't think they're as bad as everyone blames them for.

10/27 - vs Broncos - should be a win

11/03 - at Steelers - ought to be a win vs 3rd string QB, but still, you are playing in Pittsburgh

11/10 - vs Dolphins - why is this game at 4pm?  win

11/17 - vs Jaguars - should be a win, but we usually have difficulties vs them

11/21 - at Texans - on Thursday night on the road?  I'm predicting a loss

12/01 - vs Titans - should be a win, but they are still capable of punching us in the mouth

12/08 - at Bucs - should be a win, but Bucs could surprise in Tampa

12/15 - at Saints - in New Orleans on MNF = loss

12/22 - vs Panthers - should be a win, but don't count on it

12/29 - at Jaguars - subject to playoff preparation (will we rest starters?)

Escaping all of these every game is not likely.  The NFL is designed to create as much competitive balance as possible.  But if the Colts develop into a great team, and get players back healthy, who knows?

 

 

 

The bolded and underlines unfortunately has happened to too many teams this year. Pray it doesn't happen to us.

Match ups, match ups, match ups, You can't just assume  any team in the NFL is a sure win. Just like, I'm sure NFL fans didn't think we had much of a chance beating the Chiefs.

Carolina is beatable. Just limit Christian  m. We have to out physical  the saints. Funchess  should return  versus texans on the road. Jacksonville  could be easier  with no ramsey

Wow.  Wish Vinetari hadn't had that crappy game against the Chargers.  We really should be 5-1.  We sucked in all phases in the Raider game so must own that one.   I think 12-4 is realistic.

I agree, but my point still stands that we can lose to lesser teams, especially the way we played. Our defense was totally lost the entire game. Yes the Raiders aren't as bad as they're made out to be, but my point is that with an effort like that, we are not totally incapable of losing to the Broncos.

I think the point of the Salary Cap in the NFL was to make this a league of parity.  For the most part, that's what it is (we have a few teams which seem far and away better than others -- the Patriots, e.g., ... and then a couple really bad teams -- the Dolphins this year, e.g.).  

 

For the most part, teams are just a couple injuries/suspensions/ejections shy of losing very good players who change the entire dynamic of their team and if any team comes out with their best effort vs. a team w/ a lackluster effort, there are a lot of things that can happen on Sunday.

 

I don't disagree with you that we can still lose to the Broncos.  I also don't disagree that the Colts didn't show up to play their best brand of football vs. Oakland.  That said, OAK is a better team than most people think and my original post was in response to you suggesting after the loss to the Raiders, the only way you'd look by a team is if they have 0 wins (IMO, you were suggesting OAK was a very bad team).  

 

Regardless, I don't think it's smart to look past a 0 win team, either.  It happens very rarely, and almost every team that has 0 wins has players on them playing for their personal pride (not just this year, but every year).  Heck, in 1997 we were 0-10 and played the Green Bay Packers who were 8-2 and beat them.  The Packers wound up 13-3 and lost in the SB to Elway's Broncos... we were 3-13, there wasn't an honest 'expert' anywhere who would've thought the 0-10 Colts would beat GB like that, but they did it.

 

So yea, I agree w/ you about starting to buy into Reich's motto of '1-0' -- that's what it takes to win consistently in this league and not let up against lesser opponents.

I predict 15-1. We run the table and the league decides that we deserved to beat the Chargers so they reverse the loss. We win the SB with our only loss to the Raiders.

I think we’ll will both games against the Jags but can see us dropping the Saints game and a couple more along the way - still expecting 11-5.

Predicting we lose to Texans in their house, Saints, and maybe Carolina.  Maybe another as a trap game.  11-5 or 10-6, Texans a similar record, one of the two of us fighting for #3 or #4 seed.

We almost never lose to Houston in their building.  I think we may have done it once under Pagano and no times under Reich so far.  I think we'll win that one.

I still think they'll finish 9-7, get a wildcard, and be a tough out in the playoffs.
