Positioning ourselves for trading back in the draft?

I don’t think this impacts that.  This guy doesn’t exactly look to be a pass rushing monster.  He’d probably bring depth and knowledge of the defense.  He has value no question but I don’t think you go alright we got Mayowa now we don’t need Chubb!

for folks calling him a camp body is crazy we need passrush he's not elite but he'd be a good addition to the line in a rotation situation becuase he can rush the passer.

Who is narrating this video? He sounds like a proud father. He does mention a few times how he was initially wrong about this player. The longest gain on a play when he was on the field was 9 yards? He could see a serious increase in downs played if this video is any indication of his up side.

Dear God......

-UDFA In 2013

-Just got released by his 3rd team

-Didn’t even make it to the end of his 3 year deal with Dallas

-9 career sacks

Thats a camp body who will try and compete for a roster spot as a rotational end. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

A camp body is an undrafted free agent who signs a minimum contract hoping to make the roster as a long shot...

A very long shot.

A camp body is NOT a player who has been in the NFL for a few years and had a small amount of success.   (9 sacks in limited time).   Whoever signs him is not viewing him as a camp body.   He'll be viewed as a guy who might turn into something, or not.   A worthwhile investment.

Jerrell Freeman was not a camp body.  Other players who got smaller contracts were not camp bodies.

Even the term term camp body has a negative connotation.   Little, if any chance of making the roster, even the practice squad.    This DE, if we sign him, has a better chance of making the roster than a lowly camp body.

Some players bloom late.   The light goes on for them in their mid to late 20's.   Not everyone has it figured out right out of college.

A great example of a late bloomer is Melvin, a year ago today we were calling him a camp body as well

If he hadn’t of been released I’d agree with you. It’s not like he was breaking the bank either. 6 of his 9 sacks came in 2016, so it’s not like he’s coming off a hot season. And he struggled to pass Ryan Davis on the depth chart that year, who isn’t anyone special. Was a healthy scratch a couple of games as well.

All Im saying is don’t bank on him being a sure thing at anything. Starter, 2nd string, or rotational player. He’d be coming to try and earn a roster spot. Sean Spence got a bonus from Ballard and didn’t even make the 53. I’m just saying....

I'm not banking on him for nothing.

He got got released because Dallas is in salary cap trouble.

And Sean Spence wasn't a camp body either.
