A) Mack is worse than we thought

B) Ferguson has made massive improvements in the offseason

C) The coaches are simply clueless

Pick one.

D) Presuming ahead just means "ahead on the depth chart" the coaches start training camp putting the rookies at the bottom of the depth chart and let them prove themselves and work their way up.

If it's just a depth chart thing I'm not too worried.  Camp just got started, they may be expecting Mack to prove he's worthy of beating out Ferguson first.

Ferguson ahead of Mack?

I'm surprised Ferguson made it to camp.

Doesn't mean he'll make it out of it. It's a crowded RB room with Gore, Turbin, Ferguson, and Mack. And Michael if he comes off IR. Someone has to go. Turbin just got an extension and Mack was a 4th round pick. Unless Ferguson really is an asset on ST's, he's a player on the fringe.

B.  It isn't surprising to see a year 2 player improve, especially one that was thought to make an impact anyway. Mack could be the same way

We could always put either Ferguson or Mack on the practice squad

The one I pick is camp just opened and how do you know what is going on?

Worse than we thought?  Where do you even get nonsense like that?

Ferguson has some time on Mack and knows the play book. Duh.

Clueless?  Sorry, I think it is you who is clueless.

Mack wouldn't last a 2nd in the PS. And hasn't Ferguson surpassed the maximum number of games that can be played because he was on the 53 for the entire season.

I really hope Dorsett proves himself this season. He could be such a great weapon with precise route-running. Then we would have a speedy TY, big redzone targets in Moncrief, Doyle, and Swoope, and a deep threat in Dorsett. Offense would be so well rounded in the passing game.

Let's keep it civil. No need for name calling. Poster is making a rash opinion. It happens

I agree. The Colts didn't draft him to put him on the practice squad.

How in the span of 1 day do you go from being one of the top stand outs from yesterdays practice (Mack) to "Oh No he's worse than we thought" by the next practice just because of pecking order?  Come guys relax, you're panicking way too early.   Jeesh!

I feel as though people forget how football/training camp works every year.

You're actually surprised by posts like this??

Haha...just kiddin' with you, Krunk.  Some things on this board just don't change.  It's just a sign that football is back - people start panicking with every report.  :sigh:

It is comforting to learn the Colts approach to Lucks shoulder is wait and think of his years to come instead of jamming him back in to win today

A real tough decision when a week or so ago his 1st starting to throw was a TENNIS BALL.

Your point isn`t made till game 1. jmo

This has to be a satire post right?  You are mocking the myriad of people on here who make ridiculous jumps to conclusions based on little to zero actual information?

I just can't believe anyone would make a serious post like this on July 31st after 2 practices.

    • Hey Everyone,   So, I just caught wind of Goodson's apology letter after dropping that short pass from Minshew against the Texans last season. Here's my humorous take on the situation:   "Dear Fans, Coaches, Teammates, and Supporters,   I'm writing to apologize for buttering up that short pass in the most critical moment against the Texans. Look, I know I'm the backup running back, but hey, I'm usually good for catching those short throws - emphasis on 'usually'. My bad for turning a routine play into a blooper reel moment.   To my teammates, sorry for making you wonder if I was secretly playing for the other team. Next time, I'll practice catching more than just footballs thrown by the water boy.   To the coaches, maybe let's reconsider throwing short passes to guys who have hands that are more slippery than a greased pig at the county fair. Just a suggestion.   And to the fans, thanks for turning my drop into a meme. I promise to work on my catching skills so I can make highlights, not lowlights, next season.   Sincerely, Goodson (aka the running back who should stick to running)"   Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist. Let's hope Goodson has been hitting those catching drills hard this offseason!
    • I remember looking for highlights of TJ after we drafted him.  I kept finding videos of him following OJ Howard into the endzone.  Not sure if Howard was his responsibility, but it didn't paint a promising picture.
    • Ballard,   So, yeah, about that whole "bust" thing—I guess the cat's out of the bag. Turns out, I'm more of a popcorn fart than a thunderclap. My bad.   When you drafted me, I thought I was gonna be the Colts' next big thing. You know, sacking quarterbacks, making highlight reels, maybe even getting my face on a cereal box someday. But instead, I've been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.   I've watched the tapes, Coach. I've seen the memes. They're comparing my NFL career to a hangover—starts off with high hopes, and ends with regret and a lot of Gatorade. And honestly, I get it. I'm like that guest who shows up to a party uninvited and ends up eating all the chips.   So, here's my mea culpa. I apologize for not living up to the hype. For every missed tackle, every missed sack, and that one time I accidentally tackled our own quarterback in practice (sorry, Philip). I'm like the guy who brings a guitar to a party and insists on playing Wonderwall—I'm annoying and not nearly as good as I think I am.   But hey, I'm not giving up. I'm hitting the gym, studying film (mostly bloopers at this point), and practicing my touchdown dance for when pigs finally fly. I promise to work harder and maybe, just maybe, I'll redeem myself and earn my place in the Hall of Mediocrity.   Thanks for believing in me, and letting me live my dream for 4 years straight whilst simultaneously producing nothing for your team. I'll make you proud yet, even if it's just by being the team's MVP of Bust Central, and we aren't talking bronze heads.    Sincerely, Ben "The Bust" Banagous (Not sponsored by Gatorade yet, but a guy can dream)
    • if you scream MODS! in anything I write,  I might get in trouble. hahaha
    • MODS!  This should be enough to force you to bring back the laughing emoji option!   Funny stuff!
