Oh well, There are plenty of guys out there that will make fine additions to the Colts staff. If this guy would rather stick around as a posistion coach instead of taking on a new challenge, then we don't need him. I know he's in line for the DC job in Pittsburgh but he's been in line for that job for several yrs. now.

I agree, why is he holding out for a job he might get in 5 years when he could get it here now. I guess he's not up to rebuilding a defense himself. We don't need him.

It makes sense to stay. It's a great organization, run by fine people, with a great D to take over. LeBeau will be 75 this year, so his time will come sooner than later.

No ill will or anger here. A man has to follow his conscience, and I think he did. The Colts will get their guy.

Well , I was a little bummed when my daughter texted me the news. But then I decided if he doesn't want to be here then we don't really want him here.

Seems like we were just bait for a better deal.

Maybe it will come back to bite him in the butt someday.

I say goodbye, good riddence, and lets find another guy that really wants to be a part of the colts !!

Just throwing out a name here: how about Jim Tomsula the 49ers DL coach? They run a 3-4 and their DL played nothing short of spectacular this year. That is if we really do want to switch to a 3-4.

Yeah I would look at the 9ers staff next if they do want a 3-4. Maybe someone within the Ravens staff as well.

This is a great Idea or the 49ers LB coach, or the Steelers Dline coach would be a good consideration (Keisal, Smith, Hampton been nothing short of great). I'm not going to lie I am disappointed about this , but I have confidence in Chuck Pagano.

To think...a level headed supportive fan. I quaff a gulp of Merlot in your honor.

I wonder where would he go next? I would think the Steelers Dline coach, but after this move we are done with the Steelers. Hopefully 49ers Dline coach, or the Ravens Dline coach Idk. Who do ya think is the next candidate?

How about Jim Leavitt.. He is the 49ers LB coach.. He also is the coach who got fired from USF for slapping a player.. While that is terrible to do to a college kid, it would have been handy last season.. :P

I suspect that - much like Caldwell a few years back - he was negotiating not just for money, but for a firm commitment to him as DC. Maybe even a timeframe. Apparently it's been rumoured for some time, but LeBeau just keeps on ticking. Nothing like scaring the team into being left empty handed to motivate them.

Keith Butler changes mind on Colts, will stay with Steelers http://t.co/frslOmlD"

Linebackers coach Keith Butler has decided against interviewing for the defensive coordinator position with the Indianapolis Colts and will remain with the Steelers, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has learned.

Butler was scheduled to interview with new Colts Coach Chuck Pagano on Tuesday in Indianapolis, but he changed his mind after meeting today with team president Art Rooney II and Coach Mike Tomlin.

How about Winston Moss from the Packers?

How about Roy Anderson, defensive assistant from the Ravens? http://www.baltimore...y_Anderson.aspx - looks like he also has secondary coaching experience background. I like that he assisted coach Pagano with the secondary big time this year when the Ravens' secondary was one of the best in the league. He comes from the same school as Antoine Bethea, I wonder if he coached Bethea.

    • Yeah it’s the going three and out that’s the issue.  That has nothing to do with the defense.  That’s all on the offense.  If the offense could sustain a drive you’d also rest the defense so they aren’t spent by the 4th quarter as they clearly were in the Texans game too.

    • A primary reason Why he needed to be more active in free agency. He has done well throughout his drafts to add contributing NFL roster caliber players, however, there is a mounting lack of true difference makers  on the defensive roster. His stubbornness with overvaluing his own draft picks is getting very old- especially on defense -to your point. I also realize some of these players are being held back by Bradley's simple and tired defense.
