I hope the Chargers don't pick Bosa unless they are going to switch to true 4 man front and not the same hybrid style they've been running. As much as I hate the Cowboys he would be excellent there.

They have Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. I was surprised that he didn't have Paxton Lynch there though.

I watched film on Calhoun yesterday. Solid upside, but needs A LOT of work defending the run. I do like his pass rush ability though. As good as almost anyone in this draft ( though I hate how he stands up at the snap instead of exploding out, it kills his power rush).

Curious, what are you thoughts on his scheme fit?  He doesn't set the edge well and at least in the Iowa game, I saw him drop in coverage two or three times.  The times he was in man, I couldn't see him, and the other time was a screen that he just straight blew up on his own.

My point was geared more towards San Diego not being a good fit for for Bosa.. I did forget about Lawrence with the Cowboys though. Bosa might not have quite the pass rush that Gregory has but he's MICH better against the run.

Dustin, I still like the Leonard Floyd pick for the Colts. Like Von Miller, being a little lighter may not be that bad especially if he is eased in for pass rush situations only while bulking up on an NFL strength regimen like Mathis did. If he can get to the QB, get him in for pass rush and let his talent do the talking. I feel it will, with Floyd.

Shaq Lawson's injury, if he slides close to 15, I wouldn't mind moving up.

I really want to like Leonard Floyd, as he'd be the right position at the right place in the draft (value-wise) for the Colts.  But I just don't.  From what I've seen on tape, he's just more of an athlete than a football player.  He's able to get to the QB with speed on occasion, but he'd rather run around blocks if he can.  These thoughts are supported by the fact that he was benched last year for poor play against the run.  Also, for someone who is supposed to have elite pass-rushing skills, he didn't have a very productive career - never more than 6.5 sacks in a season, even though the system has produced uber-productive pass-rushers in the past (like Jarvis Jones, who is whiffing on the Steelers).  Anyway, I'm more intrigued by Noah Spence right now, who may just be our man.  Reminds me a tad of Bruce Irvin, who the Seahawks took much earlier than many thought he would go as the NFL began to place a huge premium on pass-rushers.  Shilique...I'm on the fence right now, but I'd like the pick better than what many are giving us (DL, forced OL picks, TreDavious White, etc.)...

Spence is Eastern Kentucky. Nice mock, though. You don't think Hargreaves will fall any?

Why would Hargreaves fall?

He probably wont but I didn't think he played well in the bowl game. But IMO he's still the best corner in the draft (I see Ramsey as more of a safety) so teams shouldn't pay too much attention to that.

If Spence is at #15, would any of you be up for moving up?

Yes definitely. Moving up 3 spots for the best pass rusher in the draft. Definitely. I think Spence can contribute at a high level right out of the gate, and I see him as a double digit sack OLB for the next several years. I'd rather have him than even Bosa.

I saw the same thing when I watched Floyd. He consistently ran around blocks, due to a huge lack of pass-rush moves, and often ended up way too deep behind the QB. He got lucky a few times when they got good interior pressure and the QB dropped further back, but usually he just completely took himself out of plays. He definitely has great upside, as he's a tremendous athlete, but he needs way too much work in fundamentals for me to want to pick him with our 1st.

I wouldn't be mad with Calhoun...

If A. Robinson is still there at 18...I don't think we are so set yet on the DLINE that we could pass on him.

First off.....    nice job.

Second.....   I'm impressed that you gave the Colts Calhoun when Robinson was still on your board.   I know of  your love,  your man-crush on him.      And yet, you held your powder and found us an edge player.    Nice.

Good job!

I don't get much into the mock business.  I haven't done one since I've been posting on this forum.  If I were to do one I'd wait until they pull out all the Colts visits with players on Colts Authority.  I found that the Colts drafted a number of players from those visits/workouts and what not. I'd do mine based on who they've actually had contact with. Especially the ones they've had multiple visits with .  They(Colts) seem to be fairly transparent.
