dgambill
My main issue with nfl is that they collectively bargained for hgh testing and got it yet still haven't put anything in place and that issue is MUCH bigger problem. They don't because they know the pandora a box will be terrible when they open it.
Superman
I think his quote is directed at all those outraged he got suspended as we're mine. Same people that hate on other teams yet CANT accept it happening to one of ours. Not u or those that have had very reasonable responses to this. Then don't say "we would all be saying..." 'We all' includes me.

Superman
Well, hopefully the Rams would be willing to trade you guys Michael Sam. That guy is getting on my nerves, not because he's gay, but because of the media attention. Ya'll can have him. He's no Mathis, but not many guys are. Seriously though, take him please. He's a hypocrite. "I don't want to be known as Michael Sam, the gay football player..." but he'll hide his documentary from the league and the team, knowing full well that it is going to highlight him as "the gay football player." I don't care about his orientation or even about the locker room response; I think that's all overblown. But don't talk about how you don't want this extra attention, and then fully embrace it like this.
Superman
You can reject it or accept it but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. There has to be some sort of policy against PEDs or PED usage would get out of control to the point where athletes seriously hurt or even kill themselves. There's just no way to control the PED usage if PEDs were allowed. Athletes would just take higher and higher dosages to try the gain an advantage over the next athlete. These drugs are controlled for a reason - to keep average people like me and you from having uncontrolled access to these drugs and doing harm to our bodies. Without a physician monitoring the usage of these drugs and people getting blood tested on a regular basis, these drugs are very dangerous. In fact, people who have taken PEDs like steroids or testosterone injections become infertile. Their testes shut down. Then when they actually want to have a child they can't. They have to go to a fertility specialist and admit they've taken steroids illegally and then have to take drugs like clomid or HCG to try to "restart" their testes. I'm sure people cheat. I'm not sure Robert Mathis wasn't cheating. What I reject is the assertion that, because I'm not ready to string him up, that I'm a homer hypocrite. Horse Shoe Heaven
Mathis is so good he doesn't need them, I would look at the doctor records ans decide then, but if you make exception for Robert you open up all kind of stuff on later case's and the Seattle adarel stuff with there DB"S
Dustin
I'm not well-versed in steroids tbh, but wouldn't him being on a cycle during the season severly affect his game? From my understanding he would have pretty severe cramping during a cycle and it would be more likely he was doing it during the offseason when he could limit his running? Because him using Clomid to mask his steroid use (that would have been during the season) would be unlikely if I understand correctly.

'We all' includes me.i understand but on a forum it is much easier to speak in generalities and gets messy and long winded qualifying their comments when speaking for the forum as a majority his point is true. We have like a 5-1 defense no matter he clearly broke the rules and yet all to often speak out against other teams players. All I ask is people be consistent in their attitudes. We all know there are different circumstances in each and every case but people lose credibility when they are two faced with their condemnation. HGRekks
Different scheme...And he was playing Rush vs SAM, but that is still a substantial difference. He played 4 more games last season than the one prior, but improving on that production by 11 sacks, doubling his tackles and forcing more fumbles than any time in his career at the age of 32 with no one else to divert attention is a bit sketchy. Losing Freeney means more opportunity, but the complete lack of any other pass rusher also means teams can focus more on Mathis. I don't think the idea of Mathis playing dirty is completely out of the question.

I think it will be a high scoring affair. Denver will likely still be without Harris and miller recovering from their ACl tears and maybe Wolfe and carter still. I know peyton really respects Robert but he can't be sad to not having him coming off that right side that was a problem last year for them. ricker182
His statement is enough for me to believe him. Tough situation, but he broke the rules (even if banning that drug is dumb). He apologized. BPM_Colt
It still comes down to Robert being responsible for what he puts into his body. If this was Brian Cushing or JJ Watt we would be up in arms if he won a appeal.I don't disagree a bit. Should have definitely looked more into what he was using before he risked any sort of suspensions, fines, etc.. Just wasn't sure if there was a chance of an appeal and him winning it
B~Town
I knew it was going to be bad but !! Anyone who knows anything about steroids knows Mathis is full of it. He was using Steroids and got tested at the end of his cycle. No grown man takes female fertility drugs (especially clomid) if he isn't using testosterone. JesusLot's of men take it for fertility it's pretty common . If you want an edge why not just take HGH since they don't test for it .

On the negative side...If he is a no show then our pass rush likely is to. As to Mathis http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2014/05/16/indianapolis-colts-robert-mathis-suspended-performance-enhancing-drugs/9187069/ He took Clomid according to the Indy Star, Also these are the games he will miss : Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans He is allowed to play in pre season games and practices
