I doesn't matter, the throws were well beyond the receivers, and they were very tightly covered.

It wasn't like it was PI because the receiver beat them. Do you really believe Garcon and/or Wayne have it to jump up and snag those? Absolutely not.

Yes, the Wayne no-call was pretty bad, but the throw was worse, and the play call was just abysmal.

If the refs had called the PI and we scored on a TD a few plays later, would you still be saying that?

The PI on Wayne was most definitely because he was beat, that is why he ran into him and still had to grab him and Wayne still just about made the catch.

If's and but's my friend. Have we looked capable of scoring TD's today?

Besides, the play call was still bad. Just because the defender would have done something dumb, and/or the official spots it, doesn't mean it's a good decision to throw deep right now.

It's all about the result if you ask me. If the Colts recover the onside kick in the Super Bowl, Payton looks like a fool. If the Saints recover, he looks like a genius

What a terrible call on defence. Everyone wishes the Colts would blitz more well you just got your wish.

It only further establishes just how little the fans actually know about football.

Lacey was playing pretty tight too, which is another thing these fans clamor for. To beat tight coverage, and offense just needs to run slants and other routes that rely on body position. It's also a good way to get beat deep.

the offense is stagnant post-halftime. We were running the ball well and then for some reason we choose to run on that one series one too many times and they stuffed us for a two yard loss. we kicked field goal (3rd) and that seem to upset several players and we all know Caldwell should have gone for it on 4th down.....just from a motivation standpoint. We did need the points as it turns out but I'm not calling Caldwell anytime soon to congratulate him.

    • I think we are seeing growth from Ballard as a GM, which is what I would think everyone would hope for. He’s gone after free agents (even though they didn’t come here), he drafted a qb, put offers to move up in the 1st, and now drafted an edge that is actually productive instead of off upside. Hope it continues.
    • My bad, you’re right.  I don’t know who stats I was looking at last night lol.  Hennessy will do that. ;(   Well, Trey production might’ve been due to him being in a rotation over there in NO before he got to Cincy, with him being a third rounder.  But either way, Trey turned it on year 4.  So you’re right, I’ll give qwitty one more year.  Not saying qwitty is bad, but we do need more from that position.  And it seems Ballard and co agrees as this is his second attempt at trying to upgrade that position this off-season.   I agree with the pick, we can’t wait and hope for something when we have an opportunity to possibly upgrade at a premium position and one of the highest paying positions.  Due to the way the draft played out, We had the opportunity to pick the FIRST defensive player off the board, which also mean probably the BEST defensive player on the board (depending on how whoever looks at it).  We don’t know when we’ll have that opportunity if ever again.
    • Well said. For me the injury concern isn't the "right now" as much as it is "will it effect his longevity?" Unless I am forgetting someone, Manning is the only recollection I have of a similar sitch....Different position/age/etc. but he held up for like 3 or so years, before his skills diminished beyond effective......again I understand the differences but I don't think its known what the expectations are for any individual long term.....I hope its for a good long time.....but it does concern me, mostly because its not an injury procedure that has a lot of examples to draw from in terms of how it plays out long term.
    • Context is king. Thank you for sharing that. I'll look up some more information on his situation, or at least I will if my dang eye every slows down on swelling!
