interesting mock draft prospects

Recommended Posts

The latest consensus mock draft by writers at Bleacher Report have made their picks for all 32 NFL teams.

http://bleacherrepor...on-mark/page/17

They have the Colts picking at #16 in the draft and the 5 different writers have got the Colts selecting either :

A) Star Lotulelei DT Utah

B) Dion Jordan DE/OLB Oregon

C) Sylvester Williams DT North Carolina

D) Robert Woods WR USC (picked twice)

Nobody suggested an O-lineman which i'm sure will make people comment with " E) O-lineman X"

So out of those suggested...who would you pick?

Out of the options given, I'd go with Lotulelei. He is the best value for the spot in the draft we are selecting in this scenario. Our D-line would be : Lotulelei, Chapman, Redding. That would be pretty sweet. However, there is probably no chance he drops to 16.

if we do have the 15th pick then we can forget about star, hankins, jones,or mingo all those guys will be top 10 picks. we need a pass rusher because both freeney and mathis can't stay healthy and both are old. wr is a need but we can wait until the 3rd round to get a one.bjoern werner would be the pick the guy is very athletic for his size and can play either olb or de in the 3-4.

First thing first....

There's only one thing worse than a story from Bleacher Report. And that is a DRAFT story from Bleacher Report!

BLEECH!!!!! :no::thmdown::yuk:

OK.... Now that I got that out of my system, I'd say this. I don't think we'll pick 16 unless we trade down.

I agree, I don't think Star will fall to 16. He's top 5 on both Kiper and McShay.

I don't think Jordan goes that high. I think he's bottom 1st, top 2nd type of guy. At least, for right now.

I think Williams is a possibility. Saw a nice write-up on him this week.

I think Woods is a possibility. 16 feels in the neighborhood for him.

One note: I know Jones has a LOT of support here... lots of fans. But I think the only way we get Jones is in the 2nd or 3rd round. I don't think anyone is grading him out as a first rounder right now. He's not a bad OL. But he's not good enough for 1st round consideration. So, if you still love him (and I'm sure you do) better hope for some round after the 1st. Because unless something big happens, he's just not going that high. At least not that I've seen anywhere for more than a month.

It has to be DT or CB... I feel Indy will hit the OL in FA. With Welker and maybe ... Wallace .

I don't think Star will be there

Yep, no way Star will be in the mid first round. Indy has no 2 so even trading up is likely out of the question. But Indy has been down this road before. The better you are the more work ya gotta put into the first round.

They will get a good player, but IMO they need to draft for "NEED" regardless of the "BOARD" ... DT/NG and CB are priorities.

Unless something very strange happens, I think we can expect Grigson/Pagano to follow what they did last year and follow their board.

Brian Billick has a saying that I like a lot. "Need is a very bad judge of talent." In other words, just because you need someone, doesn't mean you should take that person when you draft next. Take the best talent. These things have a way of working out in the long run.

And that's the way I like to draft. Long run. Big picture. With one on the here and now, but the other eye on the future.

Since Grigson/Pagano were so public about how well they thought their draft went, I think we should expect them to follow the same routine. I'd be stunned if they didn't.

Just my two cents..... (and it may not be worth THAT much!)

No way we get any of those. The Colts wont be able to get that high of a pick. We already gave up a 2nd round pick on that * Davis (who hasnt done anything) We cant afford to waste any more picks.

yeah, it sucks when u don't hear a corner's name during the game...what a *.

If were picking at 16.. I'll take SS Tony Jefferson/TJ McDonald/Kenny Vaccarro or OT Jake Mathews or DE Sheldon Richardson out of Missouri(this is my sleeper if were picking at 16)

Either one of these players I am happy with in round 1

Sheldon Richardson*, DT, Missouri

Height: 6-4. Weight: 295.

Projected 40 Time: 5.17.

Projected Round (2013): 1-2.

10/20/12: Richardson talks a big game, and sometimes he backs it up. He was just okay against Georgia, but played great against Alabama. Richardson had 14 tackles and a sack coming from defensive end spot against right tackle D.J. Fluker. Richardson flashes the speed to fire the gap and make plays behind the line. He has a great motor and makes a lot of tackles in pursuit.

Richardson has 52 tackles through seven games this season, a staggering number for a defensive lineman. He also has seven tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

It will, of course, never go down like this. Falcons winning the Super Bowl? I'll see that before I believe it.

Anyway - Star would be a sweet addition to our team.

Interestingly enough seeing how several have both Hankins/Star going very early, as well as OT's like Lewan/Joeckel/Matthews going in the top 10.

For me as of this moment, I would rank my favorite picks as:

- Star Lolutelei

- Manti Te'o

- Chance Warmack

- Jarvis Jones

However, I'm not really sure any of them will be available when we pick in the draft. Chance Warmack seems the most likely player to be available as things are going right now.

smh, if your not hearing a corners name its usually a good thing.... CB was a position of need (obviously) and I doubt theres a CB in the second round that could help this team more now and/or has a higher upside that Davis.

    • My recollection is Rigoberto was fine as the season progressed.
    • Ballard's decision on Kwitty and Rigoberto extension will be seriously questioned this season.  Kwitty... its show time with Latu and Ekuban giving him plenty of breather. Time to prove himself as deserving his extension. Rigoberto... last year he was not his best.  Early games he seems to underperform and that makes me concerned.  I think his injury has reduced his leg strength. I hope he gets some serious competition at camp.
    • I had back surgery 3-4 years ago. Pain never leaves. Have to deal with it, don't handicap your team though.   If you can't play through it, go sit on the bench.   To play the last 9:30 of the game and have 0 shot attempts, 3 turnovers cost us the game. We were already playing 5 vs 8. So that took us to 4 vs 8.    That's just the offensive part of it, he already is a liability on the defensive end most nights, as it is. Im usually calling for Offensive/defensive substitutions late in games when able to.     Being used as a decoy isn't the answer. It hurt the team.   Who's fault that is(Carlisle, or Haliburton)? IDK, but it cost us game 1, and at the end of the day, could come back and cost us the series.     If he has a major back issues at 24, that's a bigger issue.   @John Waylon Post came through while posting, think a lot here ties to your post.       Side Bar:    I wish I could say be doesn't play like this too often, but he frustrates me a lot. So I'm not accepting his injury excuse here, everyone is dealing with something. Either play or don't. To many other occurrences of play like this to dismiss it as a pattern.     I've posted about it here a few times.
    • No he looks bulky. He's a lot bigger then last season.
    • It's crazy to think AR is still growing into his body, but he is. Injuries like this require you to have more intentional workouts, and to focus on building muscle the right way. He will likely come back stronger than before the injury. I'm mostly hoping they've trained him to avoid hits and to not participate in potentially dangerous activities, like snowboarding. 😅🥲   I'm calling it now so it's out there; (barring injury) AR makes the Pro Bowl this season.
