What does the 2nd number mean? Is that how many they predict we keep for the 53 man? If you add them up it totals 53. If so the DL number has to increase.

RB can go to 4 maybe 3 if we put Ferguson or Williams on the PS. Then we could drop LB to 9 add 1 more S from 5 to 4 gets us to 8 with 4 RB's.

DL I think Langford Anderson Kerr Ridgeway McGill are 5 for sure. I think we would want to keep Jones if we think he still has it Bailey and Simmons have looked pretty good. Parry was a starter last year.

Is Parry at risk with a healthy Jones and the emergence of McGill and addition of Ridgeway? That's going to be an interesting group to watch.

Can an we keep Moore on the 53 injured for minimum 1/4 of the year? He's not Vontae we are waiting on not proven anything in Indy has Sio. Moore,Davis and Geather's injuries will impact the 53 man. This will get interesting when we go from 70 to 53. I don't see any shockers this first round

You cannot be serious about whether or not Parry is making the team? I'd bet my house that he is on the team come Sept 11th.

Parry will make the team. but McGill might take his starting spot IMO. I'd say we keep 7 D-Linemen. Anderson, Langford, McGill, Jones, Parry, Kerr, and Ridgeway. As for every other position I could see a surprise or 2. I also think we keep both Chester Rogers and Tevaun Smith at wide out and go with 6. TY, Moncrief, Dorsett, Rogers, Smith, Bray. RB could be interesting, but I think Turbin is gonna be the guy to step up behind Gore. I think he's going to be big for us this year.

BTW. Pats got Mingo for a 5th last night. Wish we had of gotten him. No risk/monster reward potentially.

With all the injuries, i'm not sure we can fit into the season with 6 WR, one might have to sit on the PS and come up when injuries are healed.

No I wasn't serious I believe Parry will be here. I said could Parry.... to grab attention to illustrate the tough calls and the colts.com projections for the number of players kept in each group 5 DL for example needed to be reworked.

The injuries are going to impact the make up our roster. Our trim to 53 will be very interesting. As another poster mentioned we may have cut Smith/Rogers and hope they make it to the PS.

The same will hold true at other positions like LB. What to do with Sio? I hope his hammy is healing up when we go to 53 or he could be IR'd. The injuries are going to force some tough calls.

As far as DL my guess would be Anderson Langford McGill Ridgeway Kerr Parry and Jones. Parry is probably the least versatile guy of the group.

I would think Jones is the most likely to lose his job or if injuries force us to 6 to be left out. Maybe there's a surprise guy that fits the new system. I think we will see some surprises this year. Monachino makes it interesting to. No one knows exactly who fits what he has going on.

On offense I think McKay and Stangby are gone. For the O/Line cuts, everyone except for our usual starters and our 3 drafted guys are gone. Good makes it. Coffman is gone at TE. The surprise cut at RB is Turbin. One of Wiiliams or Todman will also have to go. Tevaun Smith to the PS.

On defense the CB White is gone for sure. Edwin Jackson to the PS. Sylvestre is either cut or traded. Ron Thompson to the PS. Lumpkins, Quarles, Bailey, and Simmons are all gone.

Thats all I got so far.

I can see Mckay being cut, but I can also see them keeping him for development on the PS.   It has been a surprise though from all the talk of him making plays in camp that we have barely given him any chance to catch balls in games.

I don't see Trey or Thompson going anywhere the first round of cuts. Those two are at least going to hit the PS IMO. I haven't rewatched games just not enough time but we gave Thompson the highest signing bonus among UDFA's. I thought he looked pretty good then he has the versitality to stand up or play with his hand in the dirt. He may not make the 53 man but he don't see him going  first cut.

I heard the Lions I were interested in Junior if that's the case we shouldn't cut him.

Finally Trey has been our best RB IMO. I don't see him going anywhere. I think we keep him around so we don't have to hand to the guys we plan to keep if the RB battle has been decided. I don't think it has and I believe Trey is right in the mix.

I think we dump more than one CB but Milton may be one for the PS. He has pretty good length at 5'11" 190lbs runs a 4.38 40. He was a ST demon at G Tech blocking every kind of kick you can think of totaled 8 I think. The healthy CB's should see enough time to buy themselves some an extra game or get themselves cut.

We cant keep all the running backs. Gore, Turbin, and Todman are pretty much locks for their experience and they are still high on Ferguson.

I just decided I liked Okine and Maggitt more than Thompson. Again we cant keep 13 linebackers especially with injuries at other positions. We have too many other good linebackers to keep Sylvestre. I dont think he'll even make PS.

I dont think we can afford to cut too many corneelrs with all the injuries. I dont know who exactly may be cut but I just went off who had been receiving the least amount of snaps.

Agreed on Okine/Maggitt/Thompson but IMO they will not be part of the 1st Round of cuts

With injuries it will be tough to keep Maggitt too especially if we wait on Sio I think 9 is the about the max at LB. If Sio is one you'd think 5 will be ILB so Mathis Walden then 2 spots for Okine Bates Cole Maggitt and Thompson. It's going to be interesting

I'd be surprised if one of the top 5 RB's gets it first cut. As I said we won't want to risk injury if the battle is settled. I don't think it is.

I'm surprised about Junior I was looking forward to seeing him this year He led the team in tackles last preseason flying around sideline to sideline. This year he rarely plays.

Someone posted an article about Detriot having an interest so  he could make the first wave of cuts. I think the best he can do with us is the PS.

Still sometime to change this but I think the final roster will look something like this baring anymore free agent pick ups or trades:

Quarterback (2): Andrew Luck, Scott Tolzien

Running Back (3):
Frank Gore, Robert Turbin, Trey Williams

Wide Receiver (6):
, Quan Bray, Phillip Dorsett, T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Chester Rogers, Tevaun Smith

Tight End (3): Dwayne Allen, Jack Doyle, Erik Swoope

Offensive Line (9):
C-Austin Blythe, T-Anthony Castonzo, T-Le’Raven Clark, T/G-Denzelle Good, T/G-Joe Haeg, C/G-Jonotthan Harrison, C-Ryan Kelly,  G-Jack Mewhort, G/T-Joe Reitz,

Defensive Line (7 plus one on suspended list): DT-Henry Anderson, DT-Arthur Jones, DE-Kendall Langford, DT-Ricky Lumpkin NT-Zach Kerr, DT-T.Y. McGill, NT-David Parry DT-Hassan Ridgeway

Linebacker (10): OLB-Trevor Bates, OLB-Trent Cole, ILB-Nate Irving, ILB-D’Qwell Jackson, OLB-Curt Maggitt, OLB-Robert Mathis, ILB-Sio Moore, ILB-Antonio Morrison, OLB-Earl Okine,  OLB-Erik Walden

Safety (4): Mike Adams, Clayton Geathers, T.J. Green, Winston Guy

Specialists (3): P-Pat McAfee, LS-Matt Overton, K-Adam Vinatieri

There will be some hard calls at the end that could change depending on how injuries go.  IE if a o-lineman gets hurt a like Thornton who I have off the roster might make it and a guy like Tevaun Smith might go.

I agree with this except I would take Lumpkin out and add Edwin Jackson.

I know this is a little off topic, but I think Morris has outplayed Tolzien and should get the 2nd backup position. We will see after this preseason game who gets more snaps in the 2nd half which should tell us a little. The interesting thing is if Tolzien does not make the roster, we will get another conditional draft pick per OTC. It would only be a 7th I believe, but it was one of the factors I thought about when I saw Morris playing so well.

Having a 4th for Fleener, and a 7th for Tolzien per OTC would be nice. I am a little worried about how well Fleener is adapting to NO playbook and if that could cause it to go to a 5th since I believe playing time may also be part of the formula in who gets conditionals after FA. If Tolzien is cut, thus no playing time is why we would get the pick back. Just thought it was interesting and something to keep eyes on.

Well that probably won't happen because at one of Chuck's press conferences he basically confirmed Tolzien was the second quarterback and pretty much condemned the media for thinking differently.
