Out at #Colts practice this morning. Looks like vet Frank Gore is taking a day off. Gotta keep him healthy for sure.

Phillip Dorsett with a birthday gift for Vontae Davis easily getting past the Pro Bowler to start 11-on-11s. Also, a rest day for Frank Gore

Hurray for actual on the field news.  It's always a weird thing for me, though.  On one hand, I'm going "Yeah!  Our Receiver group sounds great!"  On the other, I'm thinking "Or is our Secondary, which is supposed to be a strength, not going to be that good this year?"

Oh, OTA's...I love and hate you.  I can never tell if I should be excited or worried.

I think when something happens like Dorsett outrunning Vontae, we should be happy. We know Vontae is elite, this makes Dorsett look great. I would say lets hope the rookies do really well vs the veterans because they are complete unknowns and lets hope for the best.

I like what I'm hearing about the receiving corps. I can't wait to watch them play against an opposing team's defense.

The DBs will also benefit from practicing against such a talented group of receivers.

TE Erik Swoope seems to be having a pretty good offseason. Duron Carter is having a great day with Swoope.

That's a wrap. Today's conclusion: really, really hard to cover all these passing targets.

It looks as if our receiver corps is going to look like a buzzing hornets nest to

defenders this season.  :76evil:

Pagano believes rookie safety Clayton Geathers could play his way into a bigger role this season. “Great FBI (football intelligence)”.

Was interviewing Art Jones while Chuck Pagano presser is happening. Jones invited a bunch of new teammates over and cooked for them Friday.

Oh man, I'm so excited about our receiving group. Especially with the addition of Dorsett and Carter as the "lower depth" guys. This is going to be nuts. I'm also stoked about our potential d-line if remains healthy. :blueshoe: :blueshoe:

Me too Rob. If our running attack can keep the defense honest then it's going to be fun watching

this offense, and I'm with ya on the D-line.

My thoughts exactly. On one side I'm thinking "Yay our passing game might be as dominant as we hope it is!" on the other I'm disappointed our top corner got burned so much today. However my optimism says the tough competition on offense will only make our defense better.

Who cares if Vontae Davis is burned all day in practice? We know who he is on game day. That hasn't changed. And this is his first day back so he's likely either going easy or shaking off some rust, anyway.

But, if anything, the fact that these young guys are doing well vs. Vontae should be encouraging for them, not discouraging for Vontae.

I bet he's not going full speed either. Go in and get your work done during OTAs , but don't go too hard and risk injury.

plus he probably wasn't familiar with how fast dorsett is. Sometimes you have to try to defend it first hand to understand it.

I'm sure they will go back and forth like this all the time and in every camp.  It's just that nowadays, with social media, we get the blow by blow daily.  Not that I'm complaining mind you!

Yeah, this is exactly my line of thinking.

Love the OTA notes, TKnight, keep em coming! Is Donte Moncrief not out there or just not making any noteworthy plays? Assuming TY and Andre are running first team, does this mean that Moncrief is running with the 3rd team (#5 and #6 WRs)?

Thanks for this. Are you doing this everyday?

Thanks for all the info. Really helpful for us not Twitter folks. Keep it coming!

CBear: For the most part, whenever the media (colts writers/reporters) are able to watch the OTA or practice I'll be posting long as I'm not in one of my apple juice comas

CLegacy: No problem

Today's workouts are over. Getting the last few notes in now. Give me a few minutes and I'll gladly have more
