Everyone is right though Rodgers has 8 done games and the rest of the afc south games are usually in great weather. Colts are usually guaranteed 11 good weather games. I sm just not in the mood to give up more picks for a 38 year old QB who is ready to retire. Colts should only be giving up picks now for the long term solution. Evan getting Rodgers doesn’t fix that and doesn’t stop the QB hamster wheel.

Still a better option than Wentz who has proven he can’t win. You can always draft a development qb behind Rodgers

It does no good if it doesn’t stop the hamster wheel we have at QB. What has Rodgers won AI se his one SB win. He looked checked out tonight. I disagree Wentz has proven he can’t win. He won us plenty of games this season.

So do you think that in the minds of the voters this changes some votes away from Rodgers for MVP? I would have to think so…

In that respect, I would think that Mike Vrabel has likely lost his chance to be named Coach of the Year.

He lost us 4 games this year

I kind of see it as the opposite… that the frustration over this WOULD make him leave. He already seemed like he was pretty annoyed with not making it all the way for so long to begin with. Last offseason he basically looked like he was in retirement mode. This game might make him say “Oh to flubbersticks with this!”

Who would want to go out like that? He's not the reason that Geeen Bay lost any more than Garoppolo being why the Niners won - in the end it all came down to special teams, but I still believe that Aaron really wants that 2nd ring to separate himself from Favre & many others and I don't think he walks away until he gets back to the big game, win or lose unless he gets injured or something like that.

He looks like he is done playing and is ready to move on. Just listen to him. He said it last week about retiring too. Tonight he said if packers want II rebuild he doesn’t want yo be a part of that if he keeps playing. They have a lot of cap to cut. We will see if he wants yo keep playing bad enough to go somewhere else.  Both LA twams  have their QB.  SF has theirs. Those are probably the only 3 teams he would not retire for. I bet Ballard sees his Jody language and says no way.

Everyone is deflated when their season ends, especially in such shocking fashion  - San Francisco never led for a second of that game, until the final one. I'm sure Rodgers thought he would win that game right up until that final series but after taking time to decompress and clear his head (he probably won't even watch next weekend's games) but I  expect that he'll want to continue his career, even if it's not in Green Bay.

He grew up cheering for the 49ers, and oddly enough he's  0-4 against them in the postseason but if they wanted him to replace Jimmy G, I'm sure he'd do it.

I think Rodgers could end up in Pittsburgh

Other teams with QB doubt, could be

Arizona

Carolina

Houston

Miami

New Orleans

New York(jee men)

Philadelphia

Washington

and of course Chicaco will endure that doubt for next 340 undecillion years.

I ddn't forget Denver. but shouldn't Paton be scared of letting Lock go somewhere else, to become as good as Lock believes himself to be? (and he did play well in his last 2 games, lost, vs Chargers and Chiefs).

If I were Rodgers' age, I'd rather be in Arizona, Carolina, or New Orleans...or maybe Las Vegas.

I see what you are saying @Lancer1 about not wanting to go out feeling defeated but… his language and actions have been saying different for a while now IMHO. But all we can do is speculate, only Aaron knows what the future holds for him. Will be interesting either way for sure.

Now wouldn’t THIS be a crazy turn of events? Gotta love the NFL :fb::headspin:

So Brady gets home field throughout once again?  About time that guy catches a break.  Easily the most unlucky player in sports history.

I know you are being facetious. Lol.

I think the time when he was most lucky was in that Tuck Game. I had never heard of that and he would have lost the game to the Raiders had that call not been made.

Note: I moved your post to this latest playoff thread.

What about Atlanta going shotgun when they were at the 20 and only needed a FG to ice it?  Or Pete calling a pass and Wilson making that horrible throw when a run would've won the game?

My brother, who does not have a favorite team but enjoys football, asked me if Jimmy G will play for the 49ers next year. I told him that I thought the 49ers would start Trey Lance. I think if Lance is not ready, Jimmy would be the better mentor, as he seems to be a team player. Rodgers does not seem to even talk to Jordan Love, the backup and his possible eventual replacement.

Yep. He seems to get all the breaks.

I'm rooting for the 49ers next week regardless of who wins today.

It would be great to see Cincy come out of the AFC but I would not mind if the Bills or even the Chiefs make it. My brother is rooting for the Chiefs. He said the explosiveness of the Chiefs offense got him interested in football. I think he may be becoming a Chiefs fan.

One of my sisters said she will root for "anyone but Brady". Lol. She is not a football fan. She just does not like Brady.

I hope we get a 49ers/Cincy SB, what a shocking loss to Aaron, he may retire??

So Jimmy G has a 32-14 record and now is playing in his 2nd NFC Championship Game + has been in a SB. This is why stats are meaningless at times, it's about wins and losses.

I have been saying this forever. However, I don't attribute yesterday's win to him. There were many passes that could have been picked off. The 49ers defense was great and the 49ers overall played better at the end. The Packers ST coach will probably be fired. The STs for GB was a mess.

I would like that SB.

I don't think Rodgers will retire. He is too proud and is still one of the top (if not the top) QBs in the NFL.

He did look deflated at the end.

Jimmy G was good on that final drive though. He delivers when the game is on the line.

Why wouldn't he look deflated?

He, and many others were sure they'd be in SB this year.

Performance last night was pathetic.

I thought this was Aaron's year to get #2, unreal. Winning that 2nd SB is super difficult.

Same. His situation mirrors that of Brees. Surrounded with fantastic teams in the regular season, just unable to live up to the expectations in the playoffs.

That's why I bring up Peyton so much winning that 2nd SB, that was huge for his legacy. Last night on sports talk radio, they were talking about the greatest QB's ever and saying MVP's and Stats are critical but unless you win multiple SB's you can't be mentioned with the Elite of the Elite's. Peyton was brought up and the host said he got that 2nd one, which makes a huge difference to go along with his MVP's.

I remember feeling that way in 1999. I swore the Vikings were going to the Super Bowl. At that time no team had ever scored that many points in a season and our kicker had not missed any FG attempts during the regular season. When we lost that game to Atlanta, I felt numb. I could not believe we lost.

    • Any worries about rumored shoulder issue?
    • I knew I had a favorite last year, but I thought I would be good with whoever the Colts picked... and this was until the odds for the Colts picking Levis hit -4000 or something of the sort about half an hour before the draft and my heart completely dropped. In a way I'm happy the odds-makers completely missed on this one... it showed me how I really felt about those players and made me even more appreciative for us drafting Richardson an hour later.    So... you would be good with any of them... but who do you REALLY want?    On your question... if I had to guess, most Colts fans haven't watched this QB draft extensively. I know I haven't. So his statistical profile doesn't scream 1st rounder so... possibly why not many people really like him. Also keep in mind that this is compared to the other 3. 2 of them have been crowned as the next big thing for a while now and the third one won the Heismann with some exceptional performaces throughout the year.
    • My sleepers: (meaning, the kind of players coaches would like to have, more than what consensus big board gives credit to them. Some of them might need couple of years to attain their high potential, if drafted into suitable coaching environment, so a lot depends on that. Some of them have injury concerns too).   Most of them are high IQ players or high-effort, high-motor players - two traits I look for from the Drafted players, list is long but I like these guys.. gonna be interesting to see where they land and how it works out for them in long run.    Payton Wilson, LB, NC State Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale Maason Smith, IDL, LSU Christian Mahogany, OG, Boston College Max Melton, CB, Rutgers Zak Zinter, OG, Michigan Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon Khyree Jackson, CB Oregon Dylan McMahon, C, NC State (good fit for Browns)  Tykee Smith, SAF, Georgia Ainias Smith, WR, Texas A&M Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame Michael Barrett, LB Michigan Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky Beaux Limmer, IOL, Arkansas   Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami McKinnley Jackson, IDL, Texas A&M Kalen King, CB, Penn State Justin Eboigbe, IDL, Alabama    Jacob Cowing, WR, Arizona Beau Brade, SAF, Maryland Isaac Guerendo, RB, Louisville Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian (I'm hoping for day 3 Vikings pickup, as Flores could work wonders with him)  Jaheim Bell, TE, Florida State Brennan Jackson, EDGE, Washington State  Delmar Glaze, OT, Maryland Myles Cole, EDGE, Texas Tech Kristian Boyd, DT, Northern Iowa Javontae Jean-Baptiste, DL, Notre Dame Jordan Magee, LB, Temple Myles Harden, CB, South Dakota Jalen Green, EDGE, James Madison (UDFA Target prospect)  Trey Taylor, S, Air Force (UDFA prospect) Eyabi Okie-Anoma, EDGE, Charlotte Qwan'tez Stiggers, CB, Toronto  Sundiata Anderson, EDGE, Grambling State  Daequan Hardy, CB, Penn State (Special Teams, Returner)  Emani Bailey, RB, TCU   As for Vikings, I don't wanna rush to draft QB if the team isn't confident in the guys they could move up in draft range, and I'd like to just draft impact players that build the roster at this point.   Build the team, draft a franchise QB at right time, don't rush and ruin years trying to make someone work out in the NFL.
    • If you are relying upon history, does accuracy matter?  I think the reason Smith ended up at RT is because the coaches tried him there out of necessity and he played well, and stayed there due to the coaches wishes.  I don't think that FO guys had much to say about it, because Smith was in fact drafted to be a G, not the RT.  Ballard's own words after day 2 of that draft was that they drafted Smith a bit higher than they had him ranked, because he was the "last remaining starting caliber G on the board".   So it does fit that Smith was not drafted by Ballard or the FO to be a RT...in part because of the measurables and arm length.   Also directing this response to @Matthew Gilbert
