I meant if he wants to retire. Dont try and convince him to stay. I doubt he comes back. We have enuff talent on the Oline even if we let AC walk. Need to put high assets at other positons namely corner.

Watch the games without AC and until they brought the guy out of retirement and you’ll change your tune on AC.

What do u think Luck would play like with the talent on this Oline? I think Phillips quick release is over rated. They want him to get rid of it fast because defences r coming for him. Wouldnt it b nice to have a qb who could move around a little;extend a play ??

Watch Jacoby hold the ball last year and you’ll see it’s not overrated at all.  I think Luck would kill it behind this line but that’s not what you proposed you said get a mobile QB with less talent on the oline.  The Colts tried that and it ruined Luck’s career.

I don’t think hooker, walker, Clark, Mack, or brissett will be back next season. Leonard and Nelson are going to get PAID here very soon. I liked the flashes okereke showed this year and I think he’s going to be better than walker over time alongside Leonard. Colts this draft will be around 21-22 in the draft order. My hopes are that Patrick surtain falls to around there. Dude is a stud. We need a sure fire CB stud and let’s face it, we need an edge rusher. Houston is old and isn’t getting it done. Stewart is great, autry is good. Muhammad is okay. But the colts should really go all in this year. We’re just a couple pieces away from that team nobody wants to face and I think if we get Stafford we have a great shot or Watson. Stafford is only 32 and we all know he won’t be a lion after this year. All in all I think we trade walker for a second round pick (teams will love his ability to gather up tackles). We sign a qb like Stafford. We draft a sure fire edge rusher or CB with our first pick. We do those 3 things and have a halfway decent draft and I think we’ve got our SB caliber team.

Stafford isn’t a free agent.  The Colts would have to trade for him and while I am sure the Lions would listen they aren’t going to give him away for nothing or cheap.

They had a shot against BUF...but the highest win probability they had in the 2nd half was 30%. Hard to say they “should have” won that game.

Right, because their first half failures and mistakes led to that 30%.  Not punching it in from the 1, Turay gifting them 4 points = an 11 point swing within the final few minutes.

Adding Rodrigo's short range doink, I'll stand by what I said.  They should have won.  In fact, they are the first playoff team in history to play the game they did, in terms of yards and turnovers, and lose.

What are our top 5 needs? what does your ideal offseason look like? My unlikely but ideal offseason is to get Gilmore, Holden becomes a stud at LT for us, sign a pass rusher in FA, pull a Cheifs and sell the farm regarding picks to move up to get Fields.

Yes please I’m thinking the same thing!  I’ll love it if somehow someway we get Fields

We need to try and get Veldheer to come back next season. Either as the backup tackle or if AC retires. He was very good.

Go back and watch the counter-toss play on 4th and goal from the 4 in Q2.

Veldheer had responsibility for the lead block on the edge escorting the RB into

the end zone. The DB (think it was Poyer, don't have the tape in front of me) ran

right through him knocking him on his * and made the tackle.

     Pathetic....

We have a good team.  need a solid draft and a few critical FA signings and this team can be  a solid SB contender.

It starts with QB. Do we bring Rivers back? Do we draft a QB? Do we give Eason a shot? Do we trade for a QB? Rivers did a solid job for the Colts - but with the personnel set up we have we really need s QB who can move around. The difference between Rivers and Allen yesterday were the plays that Allen made to avoid a pass rush.  Rivers cannot give us that.

On offense Colts need  to find potential successor for AC. Hopefully AC comes back for a final season but we do need to have his success on our roster and we need some OL depth. Clark and Webb do not provide depth. Pinter is a solid rookie but he is well suite for Guard and Center roles.

Offense needs to look at TE spot. Doyle had a great game yesterday but we need a impact type of TE. Burton and MAC are OK pieces  but sn upgrade that gives us what we had with  Dallas Clark its what we need. Not sure what FA market looks like for this position or whether there is that type of player in the draft.

I would bring TY back but really do not see him as a true #1 WR threat. He is still capable and productive. Pittman played very well yesterday - probably his best game of the year. I think he will be an impact receiver next years.  I like Pascal - and we need to bring him back. The key is Campbell - if healthy he can be a major contributor. Let's hope  he can shake the injury bug. Patmon is intriguing - He is a big body receiver who may emerge next year. Harris is a guy who works on gadget plays and can stretch a defense. I think we need to look at FA or day 2 help in draft to add depth for this position.

We are set at RB with Taylor and Hines. Wilkins is fine for depth. I wouldn't mind bringing Mack back to give us a solid rotation of guys who can run the ball.  I tend to doubt we do that.

On Defense - we need an EDGE rusher and a CB. I hope we keep Autry and Muhammad. I might bring Houston back for insurance but we do need to find a guy who can blow up a backfield consistently. Rest of line with Buckner, Stewart, Lewis and Turay and Stallworth are fine. We are tough to run on but we need to be able to put more pressure on the QB. Not sure the answer will be in draft or we find someone in FA pool.

In secondary, Rhodes and Carrie are keepers. Rodgers is a nice player and showed some solid play yesterday. Rock is a disappointment . Next year is do or die for him. I think the Colts need to find a CB in draft and look at FA market. Kenny Moore was a super find in UDFA class. We get Tell back next year so he could be a starter over Rock.

I like Willis and Blackmon. I am hopeful that the experience this year results in further growth.  It appears that both have been vulnerable to getting beat deep - not sure if that

is due to lack of experience, inconsistent pass rush, or both.

Special team play was very good this year. Blankmanship had a solid rookie year. It seems that when he misses the ball hits the upright and rarely goes his way. Sanchez is a good punter. we cover punts and kicks well and our return game is very good.

Ballard needs a solid draft and hopefully we can  fill in  a few pieces with FA signings. 2021 could be an exciting season.

I thought he was good too. Its just kind of unsettling having your LT1 talk about retiring for the past 2 years, and your LT2 literally has already retired multiple times before lol. Not a great feeling.

If we could get him to come back one  more year it could allow us to draft a different position in the 1st rd.  Best of both worlds is AC comes back and Veldheer comes back as a backup. I was listening to his presser the other day and I bet him and AC would get along great. He is very book smart.

I agree. Personally, I'd like both back and then still draft one in the 1st or 2nd.

Neds in order are

LT

Edge

Corner

TE

As someone mentioned before, this offense needs an athletic playmaker at QB. When the play breaks down you need someone who can not only escape pressure but scramble out and throw on the move and just take off by themselves and pick up the first down. It would make the RPO system we run so much more efficient.

Also we need a lockdown corner. I was called crazy early in the season when I said I was out on Ya-Sin but he ended up proving me right. Yes he missed the last 2 games but there wasn’t a moment where you thought the Colts would be better with him there. Rhodes deserves an extension though.

The options at edge where we’ll be picking in the 1st aren’t great but 2nd round we might be able to find someone with promise.

Thats insane.  You might be lucky to get a 5th or a 6th for him.  If that.

Cmon man.

All you have to do is franchise him as he's not under contract . Then just sit and wait for the offers to pour in ?

    • I do want to say, although this series isn't going the way I thought it would down 0-3, this has still been a very fun ride. Making the Final 4 isn't easy no matter how you get there. If the season ends Monday, I will tip my hat to Boston and acknowledge they have the better team. Who knows maybe we will win Monday and at least extend the series.   Once you reach the Final 4, you play the elite teams and Boston has been the best team all season in reality. Losing Game 1 to Boston was a gut punch because we had it won, but really the only gut punch I have felt all playoffs. Pacers had a chance last night as well, was up 18 at one time (only lost by 3) but the experience of the Celtics on how to close games at this stage was glaring.    Great moments during this run have been *Game 3 vs the Bucks: Haliburton makes game winning shot to give the Pacers a 2-1 series lead. That 121-118 win in overtime was the series pretty much. Pacers beat a division rival in Round 1 of the Playoffs 4-2.   *Game 3 vs the Knicks: With season on the line, down 0-2 in the series, Nembhard makes a 32-foot 3 pointer with the game tied at 106-106 to help the Pacers win 111-106.   *Game 4 vs the Knicks: Is now called the Mother's Day Massacre, Pacers blow Knicks out 121-89, series tied 2-2.   *Game 7 at New York: ESPN's Knicks = Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim, Monica McNutt, Big Perk, Mike Greenberg, Doris Burke, and celebrities = Ben Stiller, Jon Stewart, Tracy Morgan, Spike Lee, John McEnroe - we ruined your summer! Pacers set an NBA record and shot 67% from the field and 54% from 3 in a Game 7 on the road to take down the mighty Knicks in Madison Square Garden . I hate Boston but hate the Knicks more.   The 2024 season achievements *Won 47 games (47-35) and clinched that vital 6th seed, stayed out of the playin game.   *Beat the Knicks in the Semi-Finals to advance to the Final 4.   *Pacers had the #1 offense in the entire league scoring wise.
    • "I want you for US Army!"   -Uncle Sam-
    • " if you don't think Alec Pierce is a good receiver, there's the door!"
    • I still think the window will be wide open next season too. Haliburton will only get better and we are young and deep. No 1 player is going to emerge to be an all-time great in 1 year. People have to remember, Bennedict Mathurin is out and he was the Pacers 4th best player when he was playing averaging 15 points a game. Denver will still be tough with Joker, Knicks will be healthier, Boston is Boston but nothing unbeatable stands out. I think Dallas can beat Boston.
    • As crazy as it sounds considering they're a young team, this might have been the best chance the Pacers have ever had for a title.  No Jordan.  No Shaq and Kobe.  No Lebron. No Curry.  They should be up 2-1, possibly headed to the finals to play a very beatable Dallas team.  In another year or two, a new dominant player and team might emerge.
