I also feel like we still need an additional RB and NT to complete the rotation for this crew.... and real depth at LT just in case AC gets hurt

 Why does it matter who the 123 WR. We  are going to have three on  field a lot and luck will hit the best target. He isn’t going to care who is 123.

I would be shocked if he's not the starter at 3T. He was balling before he got hurt.

I hope Ross can stay healthy, if so he makes the team.  They’re high on the big RB Williams, I think they carry 4 even if it’s not him.

Pre-season adds are bound to happen at the thin RB position, IMO. 

 

Amongst FAs still available, Jay Ajayi and LeGarette Blount are primarily between the tackle runners that offer little in the receiving game, the only one that can offer a bit more on the receiving side in a rotational role is Bilal Powell, who I still think is a good back.

With it being uncertain that Doyle will respond well to his hip surgery when he is back in the line-up, I am thinking TE is currently our thinnest position.  Followed by RB (though, if healthy, I think Mack, Hines, Wilkins is a formidable trio).

 

Sounds like the Hale Hentges from Alabama is one of the best blocking RB's in the draft, but he's only had 11 catches (6 for TDs) in the past 2 seasons.  Mo Alie-Cox I think has good potential, but I'm not totally sure he's ready to be the #1 TE if Doyle has any hiccups in his recovery and something happens to Ebron.  Especially because Reich really likes the 2 TE sets.

 

I wonder if Funchess, with his size, will at times be playing almost a hybrid TE/WR role.  

 

For sure, though, we're going to see many more moves between now and week 1.  I just hope we stay healthy and if we're dropping guys from our current group it's because we found a better player on waivers or through trade/FA rather than due to the injury bug.

They are very high on George Odom and you don’t have him listed as a Safety I think he makes the team over Kindred.

It's a misnomer anyway.

 

There were plays last year where we only had one WR on the field and it was Pascal.

 

There might be plays this year where we only have two WRs on the field and it's TY and Campbell, or it's Funchess and Pascal, or any combination of WRs.  It doesn't matter where they're listed on the depth chart, it matters how Reich is going to use them for specific plays.

It is amazing how much better this roster is as opposed to where the team was a year ago. I fully believe there will be additional FA moves to strengthen it even further.

The back end gets tricky. There is a lot more talent this year than last year. 

 

I think Ward, Lewis, and Autry are all kinda interchangeable so I wanted to get one of them as a backup DE so they could get some more reps. I think we are going to see a lot of different combos on the D-line. for instance I would be happy with any of these Autry/Ward/Hunt/Sheard     Houston/Autry/Ward/Turay   Ward/Lewis/Autry/Houston   Banogu/Ward/Stewart/Sheard. 

 

Odum, Ross, and Mohammed could make the squad. We are going to be cutting some good players in my opinion unfortunately. 

 

WR wise in order I think it'll be Hilton/Funchess/Campbell/Cain/Pascal/Rogers

There are usually no clear cut designated roles anyway. Added a few names in parenthesis who might replace the guy listed last (or might make the roster as +1 at that position if they decide to keep one more there).

So regarding the rookies, Campbell, Okereke, Banogu, Ya-Sin, Willis, Tell and an UDFA RB will make the 53, the rest will go to the PS, along with a few UDFA-s. I took only 4 DE's - which is less than the Colts normally would - because Banogu, Ward, Lewis will all play DE in certain situations, so there will be 5-6 guys playing at DE in rotation. They are just listed at different positions.

 

There will be some serious battle for spots at WR, LB and CB. (Milton will probably make the roster because he is a terrific gunner in spec team. So there's only 5 spots - max - remaining there.)
