I doubt there's much of an explanation to offer, they're playing football, & these things happen. It doesn't matter how good your staff is, guys are going to get injured regardless.

True, but Castonzo has had 2 setbacks on his hammy when he tried to return to practice. Tells me he came back too soon and wasn't fully healed.

That's a pretty common theme with hamstrings, groins, etc. Those are tricky injuries to manage.

Definitely when it comes to big OL guys. Ankles are especially bad. 

 

This could also be why Hewitt will be active.

Ahh ok thanks, didn't even think of that. I just remember we've had guys over the years (like our boy Bob Sanders) would get an extra day off usually every week. I also remember Dwight do that a few times over the years.

 

Like an old guy, veteran, don't need practice as much, day off given to important players.

Yeah, not liking the way this is unfolding. Wouldn't be surprised if this continues for weeks. It's weird, I've just had this feeling since the Bengals game that he was gonna have a setback or that it was gonna be a prolonged comeback.

Imbalances can cause tight hamstrings also. Like pelvic tilt. Also if not keeping legs warm enough. It's way preventable though. Especially the money they get paid.

Apparently Thursdays tend to be a vet rest day, but I don’t know why that would apply to someone who missed the entire preseason.
