Colts sign QB Alex Tanney to practice squad

I sure hope this signing doesn't foretell that #12 is injured.  I don't see a QB signing to the PS being a good sign. I know this may just mean we need another QB to run the scout team but we have a QB that can do that

No need to panic, Luck says he's ok by every interview I have seen. I have to admit though he hasn't looked right since late in the 1st Qtr against Buffalo. He may have got injured then? Even if your rib isn't broken, a bruised one is painful and makes it tough to throw the ball.

Last few years they had. Also Tanney was just released so they may have thought it was a good guy to pick up compare to other PS qbs

We have gone weeks on end at times without a QB on the practice squad so lets get our facts straight and dont think Chandler Harnish has been on the PS for 4 years either. So we have had QB's and there has been many weeks we didnt have one

 

regardless they sure didnt have one the first three weeks of the season 

 

So what is more important... One signed this week or debating how many we had over the years

Willy was only on our practice squad from December 9th to the end of the season so only 5 games. so for 11 games in 2009 we didnt carry a QB on the practice squad

 

Jarrett Brown was on and off our practice squad in 2011 

 

so bottom line, during the last 5 years we have not had a QB on our practice Squad in less than 1/2 of our last 67 games

 

so "officially" odd we signed on this week

-The only 3 Great QB's we have ever had here in Indy are Harbaugh, Peyton, and Andrew. Harbaugh was only Great for 1 season though. When Peyton was Injured we had Big Curt Painter .

This kid was in the local paper all the time in college.  He played at a little D3 college.  Monmouth College, he broke all kinds of records at the time too.  It's cool to see him on a team even though its the practice squad.

I don't know. Did you ever think that perhaps they didn't like any options prior to Tanney being available and they wanted to sign him once he was available but didn't have room on the PS because of other injuries/priorities up until this week (when apparently Price was injured so they could IR him to clear a spot)?

 

If Luck is hurt bad enough for them to need to sign a PS QB then he will be on the injury report, or else the Colts are going to end up with a huge fine.
