There could be 2 reasons for this change:

1. Shipley is in the Coaches Doghouse.

Or

2. Grigson and Pagano want to create the idea that if you perform well in practice, then you deserve to start. In this case, Harrison was playing well in practice and he was probably deemed to have worked hard enough to start.

What could the guy have done to get into their dog house play too good?

We already have two centers. No point in keeping three. Holmes cannot even play guard (according to the coaches).

I haven't heard that Holmes can absolutely not play guard. Even still, its week 5 no reason to cut him unless there is someone more versatile to replace him

This move could turn around and bite us in the crotch... I hope Harrison shows up

If Shipley is at G....... Boy it's gonna be a long day

And RollTide, after Bama's loss yesterday..... I wouldn't blame you if you exploded in anger over this game smh

I really hope Shipley has improved at G but doesn't look that way since the Ravens just cut him

Might be a matchup issue but I have my doubts, I think Shipley measures up to Ngata physically well enough(Unless the Colts are wanting to go with the taller Harrison) and there are ways to scheme for him anyway. I think this has to do with trying to generate a run game or Shipleys Line calls

I don't understand the "matchup" explanation. If Harrison can "matchup" better with Ngata and the Raven's D-line than Shipley could, theoretically, he'd be able to match up better than Shipley against pretty much anyone else in the league lol.

    • The Colts handed Taylor a boat load of money which is unheard for a running back in today’s NFL.  You don’t do that and take him off the field in crucial situations for Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.  Shane has done just that in two of the last three games he’s coached.  Not playing maybe your best offensive weapon for a whole fourth quarter is criminal.  Shane is trying to be too cute and over thinking things trying to fool other teams and it’s not working in the slightest.  Play your best players at the most critical points of games.  That’s why you paid them.
    • People come up with the strangest over reactions ever when the Colts lose.
    • I agree 100 Ballard time is up , him and Bradley. You can preach accountability and retain Bradley another year….Ballard loves to say guys just need to hit the layup… he should take his own advice we all knew we needed help in the secondary this year no moves, we all knew we needed help last year at corner , oline year before. I talking about obvious weaknesses media calls him out on it year after year and he plays it off like he smarter than everyone then admit mistakes at the end of year and does the same thing. Bradley doesn’t make any adjustment like he runs what he runs and that it
    • To be honest this is malpractice by Ballard ….. like I know they think us fans are stupid but some of us played sports , coached sports , watched sports etc… we know what we are seeing like everyone knew we needed depth in the second. But Ballard doesn’t bring vets in and makes guys compete for a job he hands them to players he thinks are nice people a deserve a shot. Ala Pinter, NFL is a league where you get what you earn ,you eat what you kill , not what you deserve. Ballard need to take a hard look at him self at look at how other teams that win are built. We need speed at the corner position and a scheme shift. Like no HC under Ballard has been able to pick they DC he normally has one before they get hired and they retain Ballard guy
