I like the trade back for more picks I hope that is what we do. Not a fan of the picks.

I don't care for Brooks or Pulifroy. Lamarcus Joyner is who I want he can play in the back, the slot and on the outside. Then grab another bjg CB like SJP, or Gaines. I really like Dontae Johnson to eventually take over for Toler.

Don't see DeAnthony Thomas going in the 7th

I too don't think we are getting a WR don't know why we would draft any skill positions unless it is a guy like Archer.

I have a feeling one of the D Line guys will fall to us not Hageman maybe a Tuitt or Jernigan

As much as most think they know who or when players will be picked, signed or traded for we know very little. Grigs seems to always have something different up his sleeve. Players from Canada and the Arena league (and soccer teams?lol) are always in the mix.

We're not drafting any WR's so everyone get that out their head

Only recievers I would want would be Jordan Matthews or Johnathan Krause.... Only Becuase they are from Vandy and are vastly overlooked! But we really don't need one.. I think people just like to see playmaking skill players get drafted..

If we are talking about undervalued WR I like Brandon Coleman, Martavius Bryant and Cody Latimare. I don't see the need though. TJ Jones too

I am all for BPA but we aren't taking a QB P, or TE and I think WR can be put in that group BPA that has a shot to help the team. We are still a month away....

Why would a team trade a 2nd rounder this year for a 2nd rounder next year -- especially a 2nd rounder from a contender?  Usually you see a team offer a rounder higher next year in that type of trade (Ugho: 2nd for 1st, or Hughes: 5th for 4th).  So, the first second rounder is kind of unrealistic.

this is a very deep WR draft. Nicks and Wayne are both free agents after the season and Hilton the year after that. Brazill and Whalen are nice bench players but not stars in the waiting. Rodgers has the physical tools but has to prove he can be one and that takes more than one big game when the other team has no film on you and a big catch in a playoff game to do.

So if a WR is the best player on the board in round two when we pick which it might very well be we could very eaisly draft a WR.

I think safety is our biggest need going onto the draft but if one isn't there in round two when we pick I am not going to be shocked if we go WR.

A team wouldn't do that. It's usually discounted a round. So our 2015 2nd would garner a 2014 3rd.

I appreciate the time and effort you took to do this.....

BUT....

I think you'll find that (A) the trades are completely unrealistic.   They're all way too favorable for the Colts.   And (B)  the players you want us to take will likely not be available when you have us selecting them.

So......   I don't see any of this as very realistic....   sorry for being such a buzz-kill...    but, there it is.....

You have no idea whether we will draft a wife receiver. Is it a huge need? No. Could we use a young and talented one and would our staff draft the BPA? Yes

why? I could see them drafting a wr in the late rounds if he is the BPA

You all make valid points but I just don't see us taking a WR unless it's a undrafted one at the end that we bring in to workout or have a competition in camp. If I'm wrong, then I'll admit it after the draft if we do in fact draft a WR

I just feel like if we draft one, the forum will go wrong. Cause us taking a WR in the 2nd or 3rd means he'll probably be on the 53 which means Brazill, Whalen, or Rogers will be cut or traded from the 53 which will lead to a forum explosion cause we all know how much people love Whalen, Rogers, & Brazill

But my personal opinion is that Nicks sealed the thought of us drafting a WR despite his injuries. I think the signing made it clear we're not drafting one. But like I said if I'm wrong, I'll admit it

No way we give up a 2nd next year to move up 3 spots in the 2nd round next year. I see us as BPA in the 2nd, so no need to trade a draft pick. If we trade down fine, but I want to have all our draft picks next year plus one or two comps. I think Buchannon will be there in the 2nd when we pick, and that is who I want. A good FS who plays the ball, played in a good BCS conference, and can tackle!

TK....

I agree the forum will not be happy with one of Whalen, Brazil or Rogers being cut.

That said,  I hope you're not suggesting that Grigson will make his decision based on what the Forum here will or won't do?   Grigson shouldn't care what the fans think or want.   He should only care what his scouts and coaches think and want -- period.

I'm just trying to make sure I understand your meaning.............?

2nd

***Gabe Jackson or Marcus Martin- Feel that each one of them could be able to start.

***Daniel McCullers- A Big guy that is good against the run. I am very intrigued by his size and upside. Going higher than he should because of his size.

3rd

***Antone Exum- A man corner who also played S at VaTech

***Cyril Richardson- Need to get some competition and depth at the position possible even with an OL before.

5th

***Jonathan Dowling- Tall FS with good cover skills.

***Brandon Thomas- Don't think that he will slide anymore than this even after his ACL injury.2nd round talent.

6th

***Ronald Powell- Has pass rush ability could learn under Mathis.

***Aaron Colvin-Injury has caused him to fall because he torn his ACL at the Senior Bowl

7th-Nic Jacobs- Big TE went to LSU transferred a small school

Undrafted-  Ben Gardner- Stanford connection

-Tavita Woodard Hawaii OLB- nice size and good measurables.

****What if haha Clinton Dix or Darqueze Dennard slip into the 20's do the Colts have the fire power to trade up and get one of them.****

Dennard it a man to man corner that fits the scheme

Clinton Dix has the abilities to play FS that we need

I know he doesn't care (at times) what fans want. Sometimes he does though, I mean he did cut David Reed & Samson Satele after all haha

It's just it'll be a headache getting on the forum if indeed one of our current WR's are traded or cut due to us drafting a WR. I'll probably stay off the forum for awhile if that comes to pass

But anyway, my original point was that I don't believe we'll take a WR unless it's after the draft when we just bring a guy or guy's in like we did with Whalen. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it though

    • Just saying that I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s all we get.
    • This is true. But even once AR started throwing downfield more (comeback against LAR and TEN game), AP still only had one downfield target. With AD here and Downs coming into year 2, I just don't see a huge bump for AP coming.
    • I think AD can win on the nine routes well enough to be that deep threat (he's got the long speed), but more importantly, he also can win on all the routes where AP really hasn't (AD really shined in the RZ too at Texas).   I think he will be a RZ threat right away and can be a really solid WR2 (assuming he becomes a willing blocker and the effort stuff is behind him). Don't know if he will ever a YAC machine though.   Does Harmon mean that his evaluation of AP coming out of college was similar to the "DK can only run nine routes and can't move laterally" evaluation? I don't entirely remember DK's evaluation, but I recall it sounding something like that.
    • Lawrence Owen recently said that Brandon Aiyuk is a "system WR who wouldn't put up 700 yards on 90% of NFL teams." He's about as untrusty of a narrator as you can possibly get. And like us watching at home, he is not privy to the route calls, the playcalls, the reads, etc.    But I watched the video. AP had a great game. However, Lawrence is driving this narrative with this one game against arguably the worst pass defense in the NFL last year. Fulton (#26), who was on AP much of this game, was especially bad last year, registering a 46 PFF grade.     They had mismatches all over coming into the game and they exploited it from the beginning, hence AP's involvement. It's really not any deeper than that. This game was a complete outlier from any other game too, as far as production.       So Minshew held back the whole team, but benefited MPJ and Downs?    If AP was getting open all the time and it was "like this every game", he wouldn't have ended up #124 in win route rate or #110 in avg. separation (min. 45 tgts). The people who watch every game and the tools that track these stats don't support this idea.   As someone said earlier, targets are earned. Minshew is executing the offense, but Steichen is the calling the plays and assigning reads in the RPO. So why wasn't Steichen dialing up more plays after this TEN game? Minshew made the throws in this game, so clearly he can make the throws.   And even with AR, who we know can make all the throws, they were hardly dialing up plays for AP either.   With the drafting of AD, it speaks volumes about who is holding back AP.
    • It’s gotta be one of those two or Laiatu.  I guess I’d say Odunze, since TE didn’t end up being a position we hit at all, so there’s no proof CB considered it a need.  However, that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t trade up for a unique talent (Bowers) for whom we have a “plan”…
