In all honesty, whenever I've seen him play, he reminds me a LOT of Pierre Garçon. There are obvious pros and cons here but this makes logical sense to me.

Even when management changes, teams still will often try and plug players in and re-capitalize on previous successes. Avery last season was a Marvin Harrison 0.5. DHB could be a flash clone of Garçon.

I get that. But you dont let Avery go and pickup Darius Heyward Bey. Its a lateral move at best from what we've seen of the guy so far.

A big reason our Smurfs Hilton & Avery lead the League in % of catchable balls dropped was, IMO, the little guys developed SHORT ARMS in heavy traffic.

They both got hammered hard anyway, and I don`t know about you, but I was wondering many times if they were gonna get up.

I will be Super Impressed if Avery plays in 16 games. Its ruff out there. lol

But that was a made up number though lol.

Just was curious if that was real because it would be an impressive statistic to know,

Ya, sorry about that. The 16+ number was from PFF.

I should have used an adjective rather than a number. People complained about the drops every week, and I complained about Andrews accuracy.

IMO it is a much different game having a high percentage of balls thrown to you out in front like Rogers, Brees, and others, rather than Constantly reaching back.

Andrew was interviewed at the Pro-Bowl i recall and said he needed to work on his accuracy. Amen!

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for signing him IMO.

I'm just saying if he is cheap, it would be a low rish high reward situation. And if his big problem is dropped passes, it wouldn't be much different than a lot of the other receiver around here. It seemed like every receiver on the roster last year was in the top 15 for dropped passes. If its a cheap contract, if he does good then great if he does poorly then cut him in the pre season.

In other words I think the situation depends on the cap number of the contract. But personally I'm looking forward to seeing what Jeremy Kelley can do. It would be awesome to send him and fleener and Allen to the end zone for a jump ball. Lol

I'm not sure what all the argument about this guy is when we don't even know what we're offering him.  At the right price, almost any player can be a good pickup, much less a former top 10 pick that is tall, has sub 4.3 speed, is still young and from what I understand is a pretty decent person.  Let him get coached up in a stable enviornment.  What's there to lose (again if the price is right)?  You can still draft a WR as well.

Seems like a no brainer to me to at least take a look at him.

Is that a real statistic about Luck, or one of those "89% of all statistics are made up on the spot" statistic?

I agree with him that Luck threw many of his passes behind receivers or short on the long passes.....

I'm all for it. Sign the guy to a short, cheap contract, draft a WR anyways, and we'll actually have some competition there in training camp and hopefully some depth come the regular season. If he can't cut it, we cut him. If another team wants to pay him like a #2 long term, let them have him.

Well yeah. I'm not arguing he never threw behind or above his receivers. I was just wondering if that statistic was compiled from actual data.

Which OP has clarified it was just a number he was using based on what he saw. Not the product of running numbers. Which there is nothing wrong with I might add.

    • Regarding the other Game 7, I think Denver shows Minnesota who the Champ is, I like Denver in that one. Good luck @Yoshinator.
    • me after Game 6! Yeah I have never seen such bias from the media in my life regarding any 1 series. At halftime, espn was playing GO NY GO NY, GO chants. It just isn't them, every single host on CBS radio are pulling for NY. What the hell did the Pacers do to deserve this kind of hate? I am puzzled. We aren't a dirty team, play beautiful basketball on offense. Usually people root for the underdog. Knicks are still favored to win the series. They are a 2 point favorite in Game 7. I hope we win big, as a fan, the media and NY fans made it personal with me after Game 5. I have sent our FO an e-mail saying make it personal, block out their crowd, block out the media, and bring it home.
    • Yep, I’ve noticed the bias and it is sickening!  GO PACERS! I love how this is all playing out. Wish Reggie was able to suit up for Game 7!!! R-E-G… G-I-E…. RE-GGIE RE-GGIE… SHOOT THE 3!!
    • It's apparent that the NFL is becoming what the NBA has already become.  It's not that far down the road that most all major sports games will be pay per view.
    • I don’t want to pay for the TV package monthly…nor will I pay their ridiculous prices. I used to get the Student NFL ticket from DirecTV and it was only $100 for the whole season and I could watch wherever on my mobile devices….that was a great deal and I did it for many years in a row.   I can confirm that last year I did pay for NFL+ and I just watched the games sometimes after it was over…and with that subscription you can watch local live broadcasts…so I would use BitDefender VPN and I’d login to a server location that made it appear I was in a particular city within the broadcast map. However, BitDefender doesn’t have a location for Indiana so often times I’d set the location to the away teams location when possible.   I just need to find a VPN service that has locations in Indiana so that I can use the NFL+ again this year. If anyone knows of one offering servers in Indiana please do let me know….much more fun to watch live and interact on the forum during the game than to have to wait until it’s all over to rewatch it.
