4/24/12: Hilton sat out the Combine with a quadriceps injury he suffered in his Bowl game. At his pro day, all 32 teams were in attendance and, reportedly, he performed extremely well. Speedy and agile, Hilton put together a strong senior season. His straight-line speed is a mismatch for defenses and special teams units. Hilton was on fire against Louisville. He caught seven passes for 201 yards with two touchdowns. One of those scores was an 83-yard touchdown strike.

Hilton had 72 receptions for 1,038 yards and seven touchdowns in 2011. He also returned 18 kicks for 548 yards this year with eight punts returned for 186 yards and a touchdown. Hilton put together a season to show that he should be a second-day pick in the draft.

8/19/11: T.Y. Hilton plays at a smaller program, but he has been a playmaker. Last year, Hilton hauled in 59 receptions for 848 yards and five touchdowns. he has been a dangerous weapon on kickoff returns. In his career, Hilton has four kick return touchdowns and has averaged 27 yards per return. In 2009, he caught 57 passes for 632 yards with five scores. Hilton will need to run well at the combine as the new kickoff changes in the NFL definitely have hurt his draft value.

Yeah would have loved to have Minnifield and Hosely. Then again, the Colts did work out Keith Tandy I believe, who is projected 4th-6th. So maybe they see something in him and/or another CB and will finally go defense tomorrow.

Well, my excitement for bringing in a GM with the Eagles model has officially died. No building from the trenches outward, just another GM that goes for more flashy players that may dig us out a division title just to get trounced in the playoffs. Hopefully he at least brought the model of extending core players before their contracts expire rather than waiting to negotiate against the guaranteed franchise tag. I was fine with Fleener, and individually I don't have a problem with any of these players, but I suddenly fear the philosophy in place here. New defense with needs at every level, weak O-line, who cares, let's just suck up to the new franchise QB

I dont think it is sucking up as much as giving him a chance to grow with his weapons and succeed. They are obviously committing to offense this year. Next year we will committ to Def. This is a multi-year project.

This isn't nearly as bad as some people are making out. Lad has talent. The only bit I'm not sure on, is whether we needed to give up next year's 5 for it. But I certainly don't think he's a bad player or it's a bad pick.

He is very fast and explosive. I watched that Louisville game with my wife (she's a fan) and he single handedly broke her heart. He is definately in that Jackson/Harvin mold.

I watched this earlier and remember watching a few of his games the past two years (seriously). I'm sold. He has the potential to be a major play maker and is actually also a decent route runner, which is relatively rare in small school speedsters.

On the NFL channel they just said they thought the Colts had the 2nd best day 2 draft behind the Eagles... Plus we have 6 picks left tomorrow. I'm not too worried - we'll get our D in FA and the draft next year. My lord we need some CBs though.

I actually mock drafted us trading up in the 4th round to get this guy giving up a 6th until I realized we traded it already. I really think he was going to be there at our 4th round pick but I very much liked him. Hard to get on the ground for a guy 190lbs soak and wet and has good hands and is one of those few players that actually plays faster than he is timed.

You got guys that run a fast 40 but put pads on and just seem to play slower. This guy just plays faster actually. I see him giving teams all sorts of fits. As long as he can avoid the "big hit" he will be a good fit. Lots of short passes (wes welker) and yac.

A different receiver is lighting it up in South Florida. TY Hilton, who did not workout at the combine due to a leg injury, ran in the mid-4.3-second range this morning, his official time coming in around 4.36 seconds. Scouts say Hilton looked incredibly explosive in his 40 and during drills. Evidently the game-breaking receiver/return specialist dropped just a single pass during drills. He did pull up late in the workout and it looked to many that the strained hamstring which kept Hilton from participating in the Senior Bowl and combine may have flared up.

The last time we had an offensive guy this explosive was Marvin. Now, I know he doesn't have Marvin's hands but he's even faster. We throw a quick out or slant to him, set up blockers and this guy can break one. We have sorely needed that.
