Not to start the season but I agree

I just love all the Twitter nicknames

Well we know hilton and funchess are 1 and 2. Cain is a mystery  Roger's is average  at best. Then there are a bunch of other unknowns  like Johnson Pascal fountain. Campbell should def crack top 3 or 4

I wonder who the area scout is that covers Ole' Miss & Mississipi State because he has Ballards ear for sure:

Aeris Williams - RB - UDFA

Javon Patterson - OL - Drafted

Jamal Peters - DB - UDFA

Chris Rayford - CB - UDFA

Gerri Green - DE - Drafted

Thats not counting an UDFA defensive end last year plus Jordan Wilkins as a draftee.

Nonsense.

Ballard did not sign Funchess to the contract he did not to be the #2.

You didn't even mention Funchess so I have my doubts you have a clue.

I'm sorry I dont think he has the talent Campbell has why would I mention him

as I said the only player truly more talented is TY end of story take your argumentive crap somewhere else

People are getting way too hung up on who's #1, #2 etc. Honestly, who cares? Each player that stays healthy and shows himself in practice will get opportunities.  Campbell may never be the #2 WR on the depth chart but it's possible he could still wind up seeing more snaps in games than Funchess.

What you call my argumentative crap is fact.

Overlooking Funchess just shows your lack of knowing this team.

We could make a side bet if you are that confident that Campbell has a better season than Funchess.

nobody overlooked funchess there is literally no reason for me to bring him up since I dont think he is as good as you claim it's not like he is superior in every way

Take the bet if you are so confident.

I am sure we could come up with something.

Take note of the huge signing bonuses... they are indicative of how much we like the player and how likely it is for him to make the roster or practice squad . For example Rigoberto got the biggest bonus the year he came into the league as udfa. The Alabama TE's bonus is unusually high, they might have plans for him long term...

I saw that TE bonus

The kid didnt crack the starting lineup at Alabama.

I wonder if he just didnt get the time to develop, with all the star level kids that attend Alabama

Special teams ace?

I haven't watched him but it's possible he was just buried in the depth chart behind Irv Smith... I will try to find out more about him next week...

Ballard signed Funchess to add depth to the WR corp.  Funchess has to earn his spot along with everyone else.  Campbell could beat him out for #2, he's got the speed.  We'll see how quickly he picks up route running and how well Luck trusts him in key situations.

The higher signing bonus usually means that another team was in play, so at least one other team saw him as a priority UDFA

It will be interesting this year as SOME of the feel good stories from last year, will be ended this year, as far as kids that have potential will be pushed out by new kids, with better potential.

Will Ishmael, Skai Moore, Matt Adams, Daurice Fountain, a few others, make the 2019 Colts team?

Who knows......

It will be an interesting camp

Anyone know how many spots we have for UDFA?  The limit is 90 right now correct?

But that includes current signed roster and camp invites  too.

Has to be more than that. There has been multiple players in trouble with the law drafted this weekend. I cannot believe he went undrafted. Someone will get lucky

Ravens got him as a College free agent within minutes of the draft ending.

Considering he is the only IDL we added so far, I am hoping he impresses and sticks around.

Is it just me, or is this the world we live in

This is a JOB interview.......  A BIG... HIGH PAYING JOB

Why..... Why would you list VIDEO GAMES and Anime......  in a setting like this?

At least interest in Art, shows some intelligence

I would put something like:

Reads , Works out 4 hours a day, considering getting an additional degree, helps the homeless, etc.

His profile screams LAZY

Agreed. For now.

for now yeah I doubt he will be for long

Undetermined.  Campbell has to learn / improve his route tree and become a reliable downfield receiver, among other things.  a 4.31 guy running crossing patterns, quick slants, and hitches from the slot won't amount to much in the NFL.  It may take awhile, but he has Jeremy Maclin type talent, but needs coaching/development.  My hope is by the beginning of 2020, he and TY are scaring the daylights out of defense coordinators.  And at the end of 2020 people all over are wondering how and why he 'fell' so far in the 2019 draft.

Does it really have to be black and white with who is #1, 2, 3 etc? The bottomline is that Funchess offers things that Campbell doesn't, and vice versa. Obviously Funchess isn't gonna take an end around or screen to the house, and Campbell isn't gonna be a redzone jumpball specialist. The better news is that they have substantially more weapons on offense than last year, especially if Cain can return to form, and Hilton shouldn't see many double teams. Hard to shade coverage his way when you have Doyle/Ebron, Funchess, and Campbell out there roaming around. The possibilities for Campbell in this offense are endless lol, Reich and Luck are gonna have a field day with this dude! Cain is the real X-factor in my mind, if he can come back and be the guy he was at Clemson, we could have the best WR corps in the NFL by midseason, legitimately.

Jack Doyle returning is more critical than we fans realize as well.

    • I guess the whole question is the merits of the report. You report on his diabetes with tons of guesses and speculations and WITHOUT taking the side of the person who's been affected here and who's living and dealing with that condition. You report on the player being uncoachable WITHOUT taking the opinion of his coaches about being coachable or not(and BTW from what I've heard both from Colts and Texas coaches, this is resoundingly NOT TRUE). You report about him being immature and honestly, everything I've seen on the surface suggests the opposite. You report about his combine performance by giving it a pretty harsh reading(the video is in this thread and the account of what happened by McGinn is in this thread... People can actually go and look at what happened and make their own mind about whether the characterization of that workout was fair or not. I will just say you can represent the player stumbling in a drill and going again in various different ways and McGinn chose a specific way to represent it. It was the most negative way you could choose).    You know I had my own reservations about that outburst by Ballard at the presser, but the more I'm learning about Mitchell the more I actually believe in what Ballard was saying and the less merit those reports have in my mind. Maybe I have my own unconscious biases too, now that I have vested interest in Mitchell actually being good for us. I don't know     I guess ultimately none of it matters. AD's success or failure won't depend on some pre-draft reports... it will depend on how he handles himself from now on, how hard he works, his drive to be great and our staff's ability to get the best of him.
    • if he is healthy and they make the playoffs in spite of, say, Houston being the 1 or 2 seed in a loaded afc, you think Irsay would contemplate firing him? That would mean we took another step forward and AR proved he could stay healthy and play ball. I don’t see his seat being hot in that scenario at all. I see the organization being fired up with that and ready to hit the offseason hard to take the next step forward.
    • Hmmm.   ”Healthy excuses will be hard to come by.”    Really?   Richardson, who had less than a thousand snaps in college, then had roughly 200 snaps his rookie year.  There’s one.   And Houston has Stroud who had a great rookie year.  Aren’t most media predicting Houston and JVille ahead of Indy this year?  That’s two without any trouble.     I just think insisting on a division title because a fan thinks it’s time doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.   Sorry, just my two cents…. And often not worth that much.
    • For me absolutely it does. If Richardson stays healthy excuses will be hard to come up with. As positive as I am with Ballard at some point we have to start winning. He bet on himself by bringing in his own home grown talent this year, what he does at safety in the coming month and a half has me worried as well. We were so close to winning the division last year with a back up QB that my expectation is winning the AFC south this year.    If they make it into the wild card game and lose then the seat is just as hot for me. If they advance further and make a Cinderella run then I’m fully back on board.
    • 3 straight losses for the Reds. They have their moments where they play well. But it’s time to be real. They aren’t a playoff team and will never be as long as the Castillinis own them and David Bell is manager.    De La Cruz is fun, but his career will be wasted on this team.
