Re-signing Players

Are we waiting until we sign our new coach before we resign anyone because, if so and we sign McDaniel's we might be waiting until mid February before any of our guys get a new contract.

This is a well written article. Donte’s could be the lack knowledge when it comes to route running. It could’ve been Chucks staff, but the guy had his chance to step up.

Personally I believe he should get a year deal with loaded incentives see what he can do. He is an incredible red zone threat and just entering his prime I believe under a new OC and with Luck back he could finally flash

Sure he is only 24 as well, if we can get him right, could be a real player for us......big "if" though.

There are a lot of teams with a lot of cap who will overpay for a guy like Melvin, and maybe Mingo.  Ballard is a smart guy, he’ll know their value.  

 

I’d definitely make Mewhort’s contract with incentives on how many games he plays.

Maybe he meant he was resignened to not re-signing players who resign.

Players are under the 2017 contract until March 4th (I think).  So yes, there is no reason to sign them now and no reason until a new coach is hired.

Agreed, but given his injury history I'm ok with letting him walk.

Bring back Adam and Desir, try to keep Melvin, see what Gore is thinking depending on what you are planning to do in the draft.  See if Mewhort and Moncrief are willing to take prove it deals. Mewhort’s based on health and Moncrief based on performance.  Those are all I am interested in keeping.   Maybe keep Mingo if you can get him cheap.

Ha! I also don't usually like to jump in on the grammar correcting, (especially given many post from phones with auto-correct, that is almost always wrong). I'd sign Moncrief if we can at a market reasonable price.   I like the size and being 24 is nice.      I think he still has upside with a new coach.
