Super Bowl game thread

I know many of you won't be watching the game.  But for those of you who are watching and won't be with friends/will be on your laptops, computers, or phones, I'm gonna make this thread.  The Super Bowl party I usually attend with my friends has been cancelled due to lack of interest and conflicting schedules, so here I am, ready to jam with the forum!

The Cheaters Bowl is almost here!  We can look forward to big-mouthed obnoxious behaviour from one side, and who knows what antics from the other.  Then, at halftime, we can hear Katy Perry sing scream into a microphone.  I just might mute the halftime show.  To top it all off, we can see an incompetent commish take centre stage at the end of the game.  This'll be fun!!

The sad thing is, everything you wrote is right on. Ugh.

I wish both teams could lose but "anybody but the Cheaters",  Go Hawks!!!

Since Carroll was hired by the Seahawks, they've had the most suspensions out of any team in the NFL for PEDs.  Plus, Carroll has a notorious history of cheating, going all the way back to USC.  Anybody but the cheaters = no team wins haha

lmao Yep.  Oh jeez, you're in the Pacific Northwest?  So you must be getting bombarded with pro-Seahawks stuff.

Yeah, and the bandwagon stereotype is totally true. If you find people who aren't "clued in" yet about the "right answers," they will freely admit that nobody cared or knew a darn thing about the Hawks prior to 2012.

Here in the north east of the UK having a 1 man superbowl party, have my pizza, onion rings and some sweets and ice cream for the second half

Think the pats will win it by 3 think it will be a 20-17 win to them, think Russell Tebow will make too many mistakes

Anyone see anything other than a close game?

We're eating shrimp cocktail and Filet Mignon.   :)

Pizza, buffalo wings, chips/dip, and of course beer.

Chicago style pizza and wine.

Sounds like some good eats!

I have the flu so I'll be enjoying some NyQuil right about the start of the 4th quarter

Ah jeez.  Hope you feel better soon!

    • Frankly the whole Grigson era turned me off of making all the bold moves people want.  He would and they almost always blew up in the Colts faces.  He was saved by the fact he had Andrew Luck and he was just too good to be bad.  Ironically I think if Ballard had had Andrew Luck for his whole time as GM we would be looking at another golden era of Colts football and it would be have been interesting to note both came with the philosophy of build through the draft and reward your own.  Oh well if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a Merry Christmas.
    • In 2015 the Colts were considered winners of free agency. Granted there were a few good signings, but we haven't been the same since. Ever since then, I've been completely fine with not signing free agents. 😅
    • Feels like a good time to issue a reminder.  Two years ago, J’Ville spent a fortune in FA.   That was the year they surprised the NFL giving the little WR, Kirk 4/72 which had incentives into the $80’s.   And J’Ville went on to have a good season.    Many here showered the Jaguars with applause and wondered why can’t the Colts do that?!   But here’s what they forget….   In the 10 years BEFORE that one, no team spent more in FA than the Jaguars.   $1.4 BILLION dollars.  That’s billion with a B.  And I think they had one post season appearance to show for it.  So most years Jacksonville “won” free agency and they had almost nothing to show for it.    So when @GoColts8818 says the “winner” of FA typically doesn’t have a very good season, he is correct.  It was his comment that triggered my memory about Jacksonville’s lost decade.  Thanks, GC!
    • Just posted that video in a new thread, you can delete it if you want.
    • I watched that game with My Dad, friends of mine and his Dad. Their father since has passed away. I remember that was a tough loss but we blew out the Cowboys the next week 45-17. That healed the pain lol.
