Colts options at CB

Recommended Posts

Here is CBS sports list of the top 10.

It looks like we can get one in the second round

Lattimore and Humphrey are locks for the first round but there is a lot of quality cb's in the second or third.

Do you see us taking one in the first round or drafting a lb or delete and taking a cb in the second

I wouldn't mind getting adoree Jackson in the second for the slot (we need a faster one there like Butler was) and grab an outside corner with upside in the fourth if we don't trade and grab more picks earlier. If we can grab an extra pick in 2 or 3 then grab another there.

Yeah but with a name like "Duke" you would think something good is about to happen...

Duke is actually my sleeper this year in camp. Had him ranked #103 on my Big Board in 2013 and even mocked him to us.

Lattimore and Humphrey will be gone by our pick, so I'd like Hassan Reddick with our first pick. Foster is good, but his injury history scares me. I'd like to see CB with the 2nd pick. We need one BAD.

Everyone says let's trade and move down, but I think every team in the NFL wants to do that with a draft this deep.

Trading down would be optimal, though you need a team to be receptive as well.  BPA.

I've been watching some highlights and clips of Fabian Moreau from UCLA.  Pagano seems to like the taller lankier CBs for the outside and Fabian has some skills that seem to translate well into how the Colts play their CBs.  He turns well to stay with the receivers, has good speed and agility good field awareness.  Doesn't get a lot of INTs and let's himself be blocked by WRs on running plays but he seems as smooth as athlete as I've seen from the CBs in this draft and has nice field awareness to go along with it.  Depending on how the draft goes he could be available for the Colts in the 2nd round.  IMO it would be ideal if the Colts could get Fabian in the 2nd and Lewis in the 4th but Lewis may not last that long, tey may have to spend a 3rd on him.

Anybody watch him more that can offer any insight

Quite honestly I do not know a thing about him, I was really just throwing out some dry humor... I am a big John Wayne fan though, lol.

God knows we need help in the secondary so any sleepers that awaken this year is a good thing.  It would be a pleasant surprise to actually have a competent defensive backfield.... something Colts fans have rarely seen.

I did read somewhere a few weeks back that Ballard likes Quincy Wilson quite a bit, so I checked out his highlight video, dude looks like a player.

Voch's take...sounds like a bit of a project but nothing major.  That is if you see what Voch sees.

Lattimore if he is there at 15.  If not then get someone like Quincy Wilson in 2 and Rasual Douglas in the 3rd.  Two solid guys to compete for the #2 spot and more than likely get Wilson to play slot in the end.  Plus if Vontae leaves you have two guys as potential starters/replacements.

Looking at it like this- for CB we have no clear starter at #2, we have no clear starter at nickel, and Vontae is in a contract year i do believe. Then at the safety's you got Geathers(good but injured neck :( ) Butler(31 on a 1yr deal) and Green( total ? as of now). Now I know we have others(melvin, farley ect) but I fell like the secondary depth is even worse than last year when they were looking for guys off the street so I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 picks go to the secondary in some combination
